In this story some man's girlfriend didn't accept his proposal for these reasons:

Finding out it was a real proposal and seeing the proof was the only reason she came back. She's putting things on hold at this moment, wants me to keep the ring and ask again in a year from now. She'll make a final decision by then. If she's ready sooner, she'll tell me to ask again but for the meantime only refer to her as my girlfriend.

She can't accept it now due to my past pranking history and carefree attitude. She pointed out that a month before the hurtful proposal prank that made her feel insecured in the relationship, I've made jokes about having Covid too (faking coughing) and acted inconsiderate towards others, had a history of sometimes being late to our dates, sometimes delay on paying some bills and doing things at the last minute even when I had enough time. Meanwhile I've stopped doing pranks and improving, she said I need to change more before she considers marriage. I admit, I was unpunctual with my last bill last month. Lastly, she doesn't really care about the ring nor the cost but thought my proposal was lame and it lacked creativity and enthusiasm, as if I wasn't even trying. She couldn't understand why I was creative with the fake proposal but couldn't do the same with the real proposal, put more effort into it.

She doesn't want to marry him. She's postponing things. He pranked a proposal once and hurt her but when he did it for real, she wasn't excited anymore.

For me, I like a short vacay of like 4 days, 3 nights or 3 days, 2 nights. Anything shorter is too short. Anything longer is too long. And i like for it to be planned in terms of what I’d do and where I’d stay. But i like it to be unplanned as to when I’ll actually go. Thats about the most spontaneous I’ll get.

Like I had been planning to go to Vegas since I was 12. The goal was to go by 21 but it always got postponed because I was trying to wait around for others to be financially ready. I had already knew where I’d stay/play/shop, what I’d sightsee/visit/eat once there. But i just never knew when I’d actually get to go. All my men and friends kept making up excuses. My job was never gonna cut me break. So one day, I just up and said, fck it, I’m going with or without y'all and fck that job too. I booked the reservations and had a brilliant time for the days I stayed. I did it again for North Carolina. Once I get back in the groove, I’ll just keep planning things to do but not the actual date for when I’ll do it. Next stop is hopefully Dallas or Miami/Tampa/Orlando but I dread the 5-6 days I’ll be gone since I’ll need about 2 days per city. Then after that will likely be NYC or Bahamas or Canada. Now when it comes to Aspen or Australia, I refuse to go alone. I need a witness in case fall down a mountain or get attacked by a shark, croc, spider or snake 😭

There’s a guy I met online 6 years ago that lives in England. We dated long distance for a few months before he wanted to end things due to mental health. Throughout the next few years, we don’t talk much besides here and there like when he wishes me a happy birthday. We reconnected more last year and things were going great. We texted and called more often to sharing a British show to watch together. We disconnected again since he got busy with school a little but reconnected earlier this year (mid-June). We texted still, and he disclosed that he wanted a future with me by promising each other that we would see one another within the next couple of years. I was fine with it since I had nothing to lose, and he seemed to be ready for a beginning with me finally.

however, over time, his texts seemed to get a little more rude and disinterested. I didn’t talk about it since last I asked about him being sure about us, he got turned off. Last night, he disclosed that he wanted to put the relationship on “pause” since he’s starting a job that’ll require more effort but also didn’t even see the point of being with me due to not liking me anymore romantically. Also, not having the “funds” anymore for us meeting up. I was confused since the promise was made somewhat recently, and makes me believe he wanted to just not be alone rather than enjoy being alone. I’m not sure..

either way, I told him if he ends the relationship now that he won’t have a chance with me in the future since I’m not some revolving door that’s at his disposal for his convenience to which he understood. I’m not sure what to do about this ordeal or how to feel about it besides hating that he’s basically wasted at least a couple of years of my time knowing he was unsure anyway. What do you think?
