So, I am a second-generation immigrant from a very traditional and conservative country, now living in one of the most liberal Western countries in the world. I am very grateful to be living here as the quality of life and opportunities are just a lot better; however, needless to say, the cultural differences are immense.

One of the things that always bothered me growing up was this "rush" to lose your virginity, especially as a guy. My friends would drag me along to clubs and stuff, and I'm not a bad-looking guy by any means, and opportunities for me to have "one-night stands" have presented themselves, but I never really had any interest in this.

Call me corny, but the idea of being intimate with someone I do not have a very strong emotional connection with, someone who couldn't be my wife in the future, did not appeal to me.

Guys talk about this stuff, and I am open about this in my friend group as I don't feel like lying about it, but I find myself being the subject of "virgin" jokes quite often, especially considering my age (which isn't an abnormal thing in my home country).

Now, I know it's all in good fun and I know they have no malicious intent, but I can't help but wonder if this would be a problem for potential future mates. So my question to you girls is, if a guy you were dating in his mid to late twenties said he was a virgin, would you immediately associate that with negative attributes? Would this be a problem or perhaps not your first choice, would you be indifferent or heck even prefer it?

After all, it's like guessing or daydreaming your own play, your own script. How overthinking or how perfectionist or spontaneous losing virginity in the 20s or 30s can be. The funny things and cooler things are *it's not as awkward as those who lost it earlier, as now I live in my own house or I even rent my own apartment or I even own my own car" in other words, being 20s/30s losing virginity, ain't like sneaking around and having broke and no assets. Aka can't afford dates, still in college/university and not even a dorm room to bring a hot date or hot partner back to lol for some... television. Lol.
