1. You hate going outside. Going outside is a stuggle for you, you don't like meeting new people, especially being in a crowd feels like hell to you.


2. You enjoy solitude. Your thought of a good time involves being alone, and doing what you desire to do.


3. You only allow a small group of friends. People assume that introverts don't like people. You just don't prefer a large group of friends. You want a small, deep group that can last a while.


4. When you go sit somewhere for example the bus, you prefer to sit in the back, alone.


5. You deny phone calls, even from friends. You don't feel like talking to them and just want your alone time.

How do so many people still not understand the difference between an introvert and extrovert.

Shyness, meeting new people and traveling have nothing to do with whether or not you're an introvert or extrovert.

There's a scientific basis to both of them. Both of them have completely different brain chemistry that they're incapable of ever changing regardless of what they do it don't do.

An introvert gains energy from solitude enjoying me time. They need this to recharge their "batteries". They may or may not enjoy socialising in large social circles. Equally they can love traveling and hate being in the house. Introverts can be both shy or outgoing

An extrovert can be shy or outgoing. They require frequent socialising or they can become upset and unsatisfied. They find deeper conversations exhausting over long periods and draining. They gain energy from being loud and being in social circles

As an introvert (by the scintifically correct description) i'm fine with hanging out with many other people, i just get tired from it in the long run. I need my breaks at times, and i'd go crazy without them. Okay, i'd let some people into those breaks (like my gf), but most people get thrown right out of my "hamsterball" when i need to be alone.

sure simplyadorable@ Yes, it's absolutely true. There have been studies and experiments on the two and found that although extroverts make up between 60 to 70% of the population. There are major discrepancies between the two people.

It's also naturally apparent to me even if i aready found this out through studying psychology myself. introversion and extroversion are almost entirely related to what stimulates and what degrades and regenerates the brain

I'm an introvert I can hang out with people but after I bit I do feel drained and end up just wanting to spend time by myself which I do I happen to go as far as turning off my cellphone when I'm having me times so I don't have to speak to anyone ( I know that's bad) but I take really really long breaks from people then I go back out and hang out a little more then the cycle repeats itself (I've gotten shit for it though lol)

Exactly! The problem comes when an extrovert thinks the introvert is shy and forces them to be me social and imposing on their me time

i do all of these, and more. some other signs i'd like to add are:
- You hate small talk, but you enjoy deeper meaning conversations
- You have very few good friends, but you're extremely close to them
- Your a great listener
- You don't like meeting new people because it's a pain to go through the small talk
- After you open up a bit to new people, you really want to get to know them.
- You sometimes hate to talk about yourself
- You see other perspectives easily
- You notice things most people miss
- You enjoy the smaller things in life

1. Is true for me, but I do go outside still. But I don't meet new people.
2. I do enjoy solitude but that's because I don't have any other alternative.
3. I don't allow a small group of friends since I don't have any to begin with. But if I had, a small group would be just fine.
