The reason why some women do this and make hateful comments is because us thicker women are constantly being body shamed because we are not skinny like these models you have shown above. I could care less if you are skinny or thicker. I am 5'4" and weigh 129. My thighs are bigger and I have a big ass. I like my body. I don't care to be skinny. But I get where other women like me are coming from. Only on the simple fact that I once tried to go into the modeling field and they told me I was too fat. I wasn't perfect or petite. Mind you, I'm not fat. Far from it actually. So to be called fat because I wasn't 90 pounds was quite ignorant and pathetic. Believe it or not, there are a lot more people body shaming against women with thick thighs then there is against women with a thigh gap.
But like I said, I could care less either way. I will sit back and eat a double cheeseburger and enjoy my thick legs and fat ass in peace.
Demise in my eyes thick thighs that's beautiful I don't like something that's too skinny feels weird when you have sex with a skinny person I'm not going to lie I'm like 6 for 210 pounds I know I'm not that big but I'm not skinny
The main reason people were complaining was because all the models are usually skinny. They want more representation, not a takeover. As in some skinny models, average models, plus size models, etc. Most of the time, clothes don't fit on a plus size person like they do on a skinny or average size person. Even the plus size models do not fit into clothes like plus sized people do. It's more of everyone getting to see and love their body type on a stage, instead of just one group.
I agree some women want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be glorified of embraced for being plus size but then will turn around and put down another woman for being slim. And supermodels are thin because their job is to show off the clothes. Also some women who are overweight with no medical conditions use excuses as to why they can't lose weight. Some women want to be so quick to call slim women anorexic but then they get mad if someone calls them day obese or overweight
These are two opposite extremes
Majority of people are neither if you ask me. The girls on the top need to get moving and work out a little, its important and healthy. The girls on the bottom need to eat more
A good girl is something in the middle, like most girls I see... so yea :/
Who told you that the girls on top don't work out and who told you that those on the bottom don't eat enough. I know that in this case they are models. But don't juge habits of people just by the way they look !
Why would you not judge Habits by the way people look... of course you would
These days what ever image you project is the image we will judge you by
You know what, I've learned to just ignore what media considers attractive, I am a naturally petite slender girl and in the last few months, have lost more weight than i would like to admit due to stress. One thing I've realized is that people's opinion should never be used to validate yourself. I'm skinny and guess what, im fine with it; although Im trying to put on weight. People think its completely acceptable to tease and make jokes on your size and guess what I dont let that faze me. I smile and say its ok im hotter than most anyway. I've had guys say you're so small, and how they prefer bigger girls. I smile and say well everyone has a type and yet the same guys chase after me. It's funny because I've realized that skinny women are a rarity in today's society. Enjoy being different and work on being healthy and fit for you.
Unfortunately it's just the way that the world is. Not too long ago women with curves or that are fat were shamed by skinny girls and the media and now it made a 180 and being curvy is what's in and if you aren't you're just the odd ball out or looked down upon.
I completely agree that no one should be shamed for being different. Everyone has a unique figure and shouldn't be shamed for it. But it's just always been that way and it repeats it self. Every century or so it'll be skinny girls vs. curvier girls it always has been.
For me its two different sides of an extreme coin. Some of these chicks need to be told either "no honey your not thin your anorexic and half dying looking" or " no honey your not curvy, your obese and disgusting". But the feminazis say its not politically correct to and that we should encourage these unhealthy social diseases.
"Half dying looking" : Please never say this to anybody just because their skinny. When someone is skinny it doesn't mean they starve theirselves. Some people are just made that way so it is really mean to say such a thing.
"Obese and disgusting" : If you find somebody disgusting because they are obese, good for you. But I don't think that person care much about being good looking to you. So your opinion in this case doesn't matter. There are people with health problems that fight everyday about it. Don't add your wickedness over their problems please !
People aren't naturally anorexic or obese and is not something that should be promoted as a valid lifestyle choice that is to be accepted or aspired too.
Underwear models are tre pretiest 👌. The people who really shame dem skinny girls are not better, even worse bitter people. The models have to work hard, some even have bulemia and anorexia when they try to keep it going with their model career.
For example heidu klum looked so skinny the last time I saw her on TV, it was just ugly but well that's what a model is. A stick, kinda like a clothing dummy that can walk around and present the new fashion.
Or would you like an all fat fashion week (I would cause it sounds kinda funny).
Yeah, I don't see the point of fighting body shaming while body shaming skinny. They're all equally real women. I do think it's fine for them to advocate for more variety of body types/ skin colors in modeling. After all, they buy the clothes being sold as well.
I totally agree. Things seem to be turning towards fat people and unhealthy lifestyles so much, that it's starting to shame skinny women. There's loads of pictures saying "curvy" aka fat women are more of a woman than a woman who's "all bone". It's ridiculous. You don't increase the credibility of your protest against fat shaming, by skinny shaming!
People are never satisfied, are they?
Those people don't understand the idea of having very slender runway models is part of the economics of the high fashion industry.
Why the hell do people celebrate being FAT?
Like thats unhealthy!
A fat lady disliked this
@Jania14 Yeah...
Are you two retarded? Its not celebrating being fat but trying to stop people from shaming them for it.
Overweight people shouldn't be praised... but they shouldn't be knocked down.. just encouraged to live a healthier lifestyle..
People obviously come in all shapes, and sizes. However, body shaming is ridiculous it doesn't matter if the victim being shamed is skinny or fat. I think being obese isn't okay. However, who am I? Who am I to disrespect, and or shame anyone, because of their size or body anyway. We need to accept people, and thier variances.
Shame is a never productive, always destructive emotion.
However, you used the worst example possible. Substitute "more-representitive" for "real," which is the sentiment they meant to express, and you've got a constructive argument.
Saying something like "heck yeah I like curvy women, skinny girls need some meat on their bones, they look anorexic" is more exemplary of the type of shaming that I see running rampant.
who is to say that those women who are skinny are because they choose to? People need to be less harsh , there are some people who are skinny because of health issues/diseases/disorders and the same for those with extra weight. I personally dont think that body shape or weight defines how much or less of a woman you are. Once, you were born with a vagina.. you are a woman and your body is as real as it can get. So instead of all the hate, lets try to at least give a compliment.
I agree entirely. People forget that skinny people exist also, and think its acceptable to make derogartory comments about being skinny. Even though in this day an age being skinny is glorified by the media it still hurts just as much when you get called a "Skinny B***h* " Or " Skin and bones". People need to take a step back and re-assess what the meaning of "Anti-Body Shaming " actually means rather than what they think it means.
It's not just body shaming one type of body either. I've seen it where people will call out a body shamer by calling them ugly. I remember seeing this on an article on Facebook. I don't believe anyone should be shamed at all. However, this guy mentioned this womans weight in the article and then this other responded by talking about how ugly and bald he was. No he should not have commented on the girls weight, but how is the other person any better by insulting his appearance?
Completely agree with you, I hate hearing/seeing people call someone "skinny" is a negative way, saying things like "real women have curves" also, it's ridiculous. If you're a "curvy" girl then you know what it's like for people to make comments about your weight, so why do you think it's acceptable to say things about someone else.
I agree with you on this. When we say "skinny" what we probably mean more often than not is just slender, and some girls are just naturally slender. They're healthy and they eat normally. They just have a naturally slender body. Their bodies shouldn't be shamed. There's a difference between girls like that and being stick thin like from anorexia.
People (mainly females) aren't against body shaming when it's non fat women.
It seems to only matter when you shame fat women I guess because they throw their weight around when people do and cause society to do what they say.
But you will not have to look far to find a fat bitch call a small women something derogatory, or to find a fat male or skinny male being shamed for some reason.
