I am trying to convince myself how the fuck that is not racist
obviously i'm referring to this topic when i say that
To be fair he's got a point, for reference I'm white, but the entire history if the word is based in slavery, not just abusing black people but industrialising the exploitation and abuse of an entire race. As a white person I know I'll probably never really grasp the connotations of the word, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, surely the decent thing to do is to not voice an opinion without truly understanding, something a white person, a race never methodically subjugated, cannot understand.
The other thing i've noticed, that would definitely piss me off if I was black, is when white people claim racism. Sure, something may offend you because you're white, but it's just whiny and immature to compare someone getting slightly offended by a racially driven comment and having the systematic, long lasting limitations based on race
If you dont want white people to use it, stop using it yourselves. It can't be that offenseive that a black person so freely uses it in casual converstaion, to address their friends and in songs, and if it is then why use it at all... I dont hear gay people calling each other fag or homo. And i've been around a lot of them. What makes you so special?

I dont really see the point in saying it nor do I "want" to say it. I just think its makes you looks silly when you make it out to be the worst word you could ever say and lose your minds whenever someone else says it yet at the same time you use it as frequently as you use the word "the".
We will never stop using the N word because it is thrown around in hip/hop culture all the time, racial slurs will likely never go away, I'm Jewish and have gotten called some fucked up words, you have to learn to deal with it because I will likely never go away.

Yes, you know my question is how they dont get that after using it for 400 years to degrade, rape, and beat people to death and then say theyre sorry and it wasn't any of there ancestors (so we magically showed up) and then they complain that they can't use a varietion of the word they used to mass murder and enslave and still now dehuminize us. I had a black friend who was lovingly called sugarbrownie (roughly translated) by all his friends. He didn't mind, the guys all pretty much communicated through insults anyways. His younger brother never got called that since he wasn't the type to be amused by it. Both were nice guys. I really dont see the problem in calling eacg other names if everyone is fine with it.

Well in old African languages the n-word is derieved from a word that means old king, and it was eventually the white colonialists which gave it a negative meaning for their own use... though I agree if someone is getting offended by it no race whether white, black, Indian, latino, Asian should use it
Thats actually true^ but I think its the only reprecussion or animosity that white get because of slavery and them making it negative. As a African American it sounds bad coming out of a white persons mouth for this reason or gross. Especially with the pretending slaver didn't happen and they dont benefit from it.

Racism is not merely just discrimination based on race. It's the systematic oppression of an entire race. Not being able to use the n word is not racism. Have your race getting targeted by police is racism. Getting suspended from school for the natural state of your hair is racism. Getting denied jobs and houses for expressing your culture is racism. Having politicians threatening to kick you out of the country for your race is racism. White people are the most privileged. They're at the top. That's how it's been in the past, and that's how it is today. So, when black people finally decide they're done with being mistreated like that, everyone gets pissed off, and suddenly black people are racist and hypocritical? And it's not just white people who can't use the word. It's anyone who isn't black. Black people have had the word used against them for a long time. They decide what they wanna do with it.

Have you or your ancestors been beaten and oppressed with that name? Was cracker the only thing black people referred you to? Were you dehumanized by that word? Does cracker have a history of pain and oppression and suffering? Stop acting like cracker is the equivalent of the n word. Black people have been oppressed by that word for a long time. Although I agree it's vulgar and has racist connotations, why is it that only white people can't say it? If it's so inflammatory to the black community than why is it socially acceptable for other blacks to use the word? Why are latinos like Fat Joe and arabs like DJ Khaled and French Montana allowed to say it? The Arab slave trade was just as horrible as the European slave trade. That being said I would never say it because of the racist connotations.
Anyone can technically say whatever they want. People shouldn't say offensive terms for their own sake if nothing else. They're socially frowned upon and it makes you come off as uncouth, insensitive and unintelligent to say it.

If white people have used the word to oppress black people, why should they be allowed to use it? It's not just a word. It has a history of pain and suffering. It's taken a long time for black people to finally stand up and decide they don't want to be defined by that kind of word. Reclaiming the word has given black people the strength to start coming together and uniting. Because society has always tried to divide them. And of course, anyone who's a non black POC shouldn't be using it either, since they'll never truly understand the meaning behind it.

I personally don't think that anyone should say it, white or not. You can't really expect a certain group of people not to say something that isn't condemned within another group. If it really bothers you that much, you won't say it either and you won't make excuses for people to say it just because of their skin color.
