You actually do get police discounts on rifles, as my police officer bud told me.
I read that too. And it goes for armoured army vehicles too.

I thought a part of it was because of situations like the Tower shooting. The police weren't equipped to handle it and a lot of people died because of that.
Cool article. I'm just starting to learn more about firearms (bought my S&W 38 special a few months ago) and I want to get a AR-15 before hillary bans them.
In Belgium the police carries submachine guns because of elevated terrorist activity.
Which isn't a bad idea, the only problem is if the terrorists acquire body armor. This will lead to a situation where the pistol rounds of the SMG's can't penetrate.
However, in Belgium they also have Arms manufacturer Fabrique Nationale (FN), who make this brilliant little armor-piercing SMG:

@dudeman Not in North America. Indians were by and large nomads, with temporary settlements. There was nothing in terms of a state. The first state created in North America was the USA, which was created and built by white settlers. America is a white project. One can say that it was bad that Indians were squeezed out from the lands they inhabited, but that doesn't change the identity of the USA as a thoroughly white project, with white culture, institutions, government, judiciary, population... It was built by whites, in their own image, and for themselves. When Turks conquered Byzantium, they did the same thing. When Arabs conquered land, they did the same thing. There is nothing unique about white colonization of America, except, perhaps, the fact that from their perspective, they didn't feel they were conquering land. When Turks colonized Byzantium, they took over huge cities. In North America there was nothing in terms of infrastructure.

@dudeman They did not. There was absolutely nothing in terms of states in the modern sense. There was no bureaucracy or infrastructure. There were no roads or cities. South America had all that, but North America did not.

Smallpox and other eurasian diseases killed a fuckload of people, it was probably done by accident by earlier explorers and the settlers at jamestown

AMERICA was NOT white. It was Native American.
The USA was white from start. First a Spanish-British-British group of colonies. First the British, later the USA got rid of the native population and of the other colonizing countries, by military means (and by spreading smallpox among native tribes)

The American Indians put up a HELL of a fight for their homes. The last of the Indian Wars wasn't finished till 1923

@jacquesvol The smallpox blanket thing was a VERY tiny portion of the Native Americans who died of disease. Most died from diseases spread out from the first settlements, often before they ever saw a white man.
@Waffles731 No, even without disease they didn't have a chance. They were never a cohesive force. The only way they could have won is to wipe out the first colonies so that the Europeans just gave up. And many fought on the side of the colonists. The Spanish had a lot of help in defeating the Aztecs, who were hated by many neighboring groups.
