If a woman reaches the standards then she should be allowed to fight. You might be happy making sandwiches in th kitchen and pushing out babies, but some other women are not. If they are capable of doing their job, then why stop them?
I totally agree, i don't think a "man" should call himself one if he's expecting women to protect his ass.
soldiers don't protect men. they protect and serve their country (men, women, children, adults, elderly)
@madhatters4 being a soldier doesn't magically erase ones gender, i don't get u guys, let's say that two countries started a war, one of them had men as the majority of soldiers, the other had females as the majority of soldiers, who would win? The country with more male soldiers than females, COMMON SENSE.
that's extremely sexist. so you are saying that the military can't decide that some women may be better fit to be in combat than some men? you basically that presume that a woman, simply because she is a woman, is incapable of being as good as a man at shooting a gun.
perhaps more women than men are unfit for combat, and any military will consider that and not accept those who are unfit. but simply saying that because women are in the military that that side is somehow doomed to lose is inaccurate and sexist

ok well then the majority of women don't end up doing service. but if the minority are fit then they should serve. the majority of draftees in the 60s during vietnam never went to serve. they were drafted and then deemed unfit to serve by selective services. the same thing would occur if a draft were to be implemented

Do you know i was turned down a job at an aerospace company when i placed 3 overall in the university. You know what the applications lady said " We are looking for female candidates" after 4 years of working my backside off. So i picked up my bags and started my own company with just a measly 20 000 usd i had in savings. I worked day and night to bring my company up from the ground. You know what the government wants now before i get anymore contracts... yup a female partner and i have to give minimum 35% of the company... so if i make 1 million usd, she gets 350 000usd for nothing. I worked my blood sweat and tears in that business. Why do women take everything from us... she didn't ever say a work... all she gets is a fat check at the end of the month. I proposed to a girl once, a great girl, i was nice and good to her, and when i married her, she said that she no longer wanted
children and all she wanted was a "career" even tho she agreed to have kids. Now i'm paying her almost 60 000 usd. She eventually went with some guy and had sex with him. It's stupid to think they would or even could get rid of the draft. It's currently inactive, but men are still signing up for Selective Service, which makes men eligible for it should it be necessary. It's a safety net for a future we can't know. Volunteers can't be counted upon during a crisis. That's why we have it.
There's more than just front line combat in the military. Women can be drafted in non-combat heavy roles.

See women that hypothetically would be drafted would still see likely see combat. Alot' of women are still being put in support roles that leave them vulnerable. For example Jessica Lynch during the 2nd Iraq war. She was part of an Army maintenance company and the first ever US female POW. Not a combat role.
Women have proven already they belong and can function in the military effectively.

It seems you have two arguments here women in forward combat roles and women serving in general in support roles. Not everyone that was drafted in the US served in combat roles but they did likley see combat.
Women should be drafted, but into the Civil Service (the Crown) instead of the military. Other people who aren't fit for military service should also be drafted into the Civil Service as well (except those with autism).
