Philippines is NOT a Catholic Country! President Duterte. (Fact Checking My Country's President)

While I was wanking in the comfort, I stumbled upon news recently. It was said Duterte while in Myanmar, back tracked on his campaign talk during the elections of possibly legalising Same-sex marriage. The stench have gone on different direction. He said said; quote...

There is no gender because you can be a he or she... That's their culture. It does not apply to us. We are Catholics and there is the Civil Code, which says that you can only marry a woman for me... a woman to marry a man

And we have a Civil Code, which says that you can only marry a woman for me, for a woman to marry a man. That’s our laws and why should these other genders be brought into it?”

*BULLSHIT ALERT*

Philippines is NOT a catholic country! President Duterte. (Fact Checking my country's President)

Why is it bullshit? It bothers me the most a leader doesn't know the law...Well for instance it is because Philippines is a secular country. Secularism, state being fucking neutral on religion and be free from religious rule and teachings but also let people have their freedom to practice their religion.

Read the constitution Pres. Duterte. https://www.gov.ph/constitutions/1987-constitution/

ARTICLE II

Declaration of Principles and State Policies

SECTION 6. The separation of Church and State shall be inviolable.

We don't have a state religion hence we are not a catholic country. But indeed in reality, the influence of illogical religion still grips the Philippine society and politics.Yes the Catholic and Christian church who sadly greatly greatly influence the government. Who had contributed to several setback to progress. Anyway it's not about this...

Well about the Civil Code!?

Actually there is NO mention of marriage to be exclusive between a man and woman. Again, READ THE LAW THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO KNOW!

Title III. - MARRIAGE

CHAPTER 1
REQUISITES OF MARRIAGE

Art. 53. No marriage shall be solemnized unless all these requisites are complied with:

(1) Legal capacity of the contracting parties
(2) Their consent, freely given
(3) Authority of the person performing the marriage and
(4) A marriage license, except in a marriage of exceptional character (Sec. 1a, art. 3613)

^The requirements. Pretty clear

So sad our President is just spewing bullshit, a ''lawyer'' apparently. Perhaps too busy running a drug war cough war on poor people, that we instead should be helping. So much poverty in our country, hungry people with many forced to eat pagpag..... Severe overpopulation with much development happens in Metro Manila only... Rural poverty, no opportunity, no wonder people do drugs. We have forsaken them as a society.
