Also, you're part of LGBT. Technically, it's LGBTQ+ -- the acronym's been updated. The full acronym is now LGBTQAIP+, but it's easier to say (and type) LGBTQ+; the "+" allows for other orientations to exist as well. (Just to be clear, you fall under the A in LGBTQAIP+. :D )
The pride is one of the problem cuz it usually gives them un-wanted attention from the idiots and you don't need one month to justify your rights. The only thing the month do is to attract the hostile idiots to commit idiocy. I support homosexual persons but Gays are in greater danger as compare to lesbian cuz they have to ask out men. That are quiet capable of domestic violence and usually one wrong move can be very dangerous.

Gays usually don’t go around asking out random men. A mentally sane gay man would first try to figure out if the other guy is gay before asking him out. Yes, it’s true that men are more dangerous when It comes to domestic violence, but there are statistics about lesbian and bi women being victims of domestic violence. There are many stories about lesbians being in great danger or getting murdered.
You look like intelligent lad "tell me for the 21st century woman only victim" society, they are not exaggerated. I think you have the idea about bias I am pointing towards. Gays are in danger and they are men so usually they don't even register the problem in the court either and the lesbian may be getting murdered but we do know for the fact "GAYS ARE HANGED TO DEATH"
I’m not acting like women are the only victims. I already mentioned that gay men can be victims to dangerous crimes. I just didn’t agree with you about the part where you said that gay men ask out random men,
I'm bisexual but I think all this pride bullshit is just sjw crap. Liking dick along with pussy is nothing I have to be proud of. Sexual orientation is nothing to be proud of.. it just is.
Also you're not going to convince the bigots to accept to you by dressing up like fucking freaks.
You say that, but really, the stereotyped SJW doesn't exist. Literally. It doesn't. It may be called "pride" but don't blame us for going crazy during this month. Blame the ones who want us all killed and that includes you. If the LGBTQA+ stuff was considered "normal" to begin with as it should have, the parades and pride stuff likely wouldn't happen. I get your annoyance, but channel it at the right people.
@errorgoodnameunfound Trigglypuff, Anita Sarkeesian, The Young Turks, Gazi Kodzo, etc are all hardcore sjws..
Also since I don't live in the deep south of the United States so nobody around me wants to kill me and nobody gives a shit that I like dick. I have never once been harassed in my nearly 30 years of existence over being bisexual. I've had more people insult me for being a white male than I have been insulted for being bi.
If it is anyone I am worried about it is all these Islamic immigrants that the progressives want to let into the country who would gladly try and kill me, lol.
And I believe I am channeling my annoyance at precisely the right people. Progressive philosophy based on social justice is absolutely destroying the left to the point where I find myself in agreement with the likes of Ben Shapiro more often than popular people on the left.
I'm an old school, classical liberal I think all this political correctness, safe spaces, identity politics etc needs to die.
"As a religious Jew, I think homosexual activity is a sin" -Ben Shipiro. Nothing like loving the person that hates you more than people who offer help. It's always the northerners that annoy me though. The "right wing" up north don't get how liberal they may actually be, meanwhile, the left complains about their circumstances, yet have never once been to the south where REAL shit can happen. Though funny the south gets so stereotyped too. Plenty in the south are starting to not give a crap either about gayness either, beleive it or not. And because progressives and libs down south are minority, they know they have to be patient and are more negotiable, believe it or not. I wonder if you have even met anyone Islamic before. Many just want a goddam job and to get on with their life. Just the truth. Cause yes, a few of them want all people killed, but arguably, Christians have been terrorists before too, and perhaps have killed more. Forget Islam, Christianity needs the reform.
And ya know, gay people do in fact live in the south and it's not people like Ben Shipiro who would save them if they were targeted for death. Northerners have more liberal policies in place to protect most people so tolerance is more automatic. It's near impossible to be THAT conservative, yet live in major cities up north. Reminds me of my "conservative" parents, that for some reason, moved to a bigger more liberal city. If they REALLY wanted conservatism, wouldn't they stay in the more conservative area? If you dislike SJWs and libs up north, why not move down south?
It’s not about being proud of your sexual orientation. It’s about being proud of being able to accept yourself even though you are at a disadvantage because of it,
I support the LGBT community 100%, but I don't understand why they have to have a whole month of celebration and what not, I get they want to celebrate with other people of the LGBT community, but a month?
@blubblubblub Oh hunny I'm not bitter and if you re-read my opinion never once said I dislike it, I don't mind it and like I said I support the community.
@blubblubblub You can't tell me what I have or haven't faced, or can or can't face. I know what it is and just because I'm straight DOES NOT mean I can't be abused, just like because I'm white doesn't mean I don't face racism - I do and I have and I don't need people like you telling me I can't. Thanks, though.
I just said i doubt it. Heterosexuality is the norm in society, maybe there have been the rare perpetrators who targetted you on the basis of your sexuality, but heterosexuals as a group in society are not oppressed. Hence there is no need for a celebration, i mean, sure if you really wanna, go ahead, but there isn't an intense need. And i find it quiet rude and similiar to saying it shouldn't be blm, but all lives matter. there's one sick need in need, one fine, you're gonna give the sick on the soup right? I agree though, white people can face racism. Especially in recent days.
@blubblubblub Well I definitely disagree, weather it be the norm or not, hetros can be oppressed, but I suppose if you aren't straight how could you possibly know? All you're going to face is abuse targeted at the LGBT community right? I don't think it's equal or fair that LGBT can have a month of pride for being who they are, but straight people don't get praised, or celebrated for being who they are, we don't get to parade and march around the streets for a month.. Yes, they can and they do.
I said THE GROUP. Heterosexuals as a collective group are not oppressed. I am not a part of the lgbt as far as i know at this point, but i understand that for many homosexuals etc their sexuality is one of the biggest struggles they face cause of the oppression in society. And it is fair. A straight persons sexuality is not the cause of their life struggles. That's a fact. You dont need to worry about your friends and family not accepting you for who you are, or facing violence.
@blubblubblub I literally couldn't give a toss what you think at this point, it is NOT fair, what's equal isn't always fair and what's fair isn't always equal.
How do you know that? I've literally told you I've been subject to abuse for being straight - I'm more than 100% positive that other straight people have too, just because there are more LGBT getting abused for their sexuality and how hard their life is hiding such a secret and being scared to come out, doesn't mean straight people aren't oppressed. I suppose a lot of it depends on what kind of society you grow up in, where you come from, etc. But I know where I'm from, you can be abused for being gay, straight, a good person or a bad person.
If I hadn't had abuse, maybe I would agree, but I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.
Heterosexuality is not frowned upon in societys, cultures and religions. This my friend, is a fact. Maybe you've faced the odd abuse, but you are not representative of the general trend. Im not saying its impossible, but speaking demographically.
@blubblubblub I know it isn't frowned upon - but again you aren't getting my point whatsoever. And YES they are - I agree no where near as much as LGBT people but they do.
There was a time we’re if person was gay be locked or put in psychiatric hospital for having this feeling and there people out there that hate LGBT community. We ban together for support each other.
I don't particularly want heterosexual romances rammed down my throat, but 99% of all movies, books, TV series and other pop culture do exactly that, so I've just had to learn to live with it.
They should have a straight White Man pride celebration all year long for all the great accomplishments by them. Of course gays would be against it because they are very intolerant. :)
As a white man, I don’t get discriminated for simply being white. Many straight white would disagree with you and tell you to stop whining over “discrimination” that rarely happens.
Rarely? lol I've had it happen plenty IRL. Especially when it comes to getting a job or promotion and there is a much less qualified woman or Black person applying for it too. Also, there is lots of free money for people that are either Black or female in the USA for college that a White man can't get.
If your age on here is correct, then I think it is just your lack of life experience that caused you to not encounter it yet. Or you are very lucky.
I work for myself and from what I heard it’s usually women and blacks not getting promoted as often. I read about it in studies. I’m pretty sure most companies are not stupid enough to disregard the most qualified white people.
I kind of think that at this stage pride month is a little bit redundant, other than an excuse for gay people to have a big party. They already share all the same rights as everyone else has so there is no need for the fight for equality to continue.
@DinaM Prefer my statistics raw, from the Met or the justice department.. the thing about the media reporting statistics is they leave out what is "inconvenient" to the narrative they want to present
There is no point. I do have to say it is a little humorous to speak up at the end lol Here's myTake on the entire situation: Nothing has changed since the 90's except for the self-labeling alphabet soup grouping and buzz word bullshit. Be happy with who you are and accept that don't. This applies to many areas, associations, and beliefs in life.
They call it LGBT+ because it's supposed to be inclusive, you should hang around people you like. And they should like you, some of them might actually be heterosexual.
I can relate to having heard the bisexual stereotypes, I lean towards men but I am bisexual. A lot of people just think I'm straight and they question it. But that's not what it is.

"Just be more focused on promoting and advertising the truth" Pretty ironic given the liberal use f all those progressive pseudoscience terms. Seems like you don't actually know what you're talking about. Sounds like a narrative of how things where 20 years ago.

Well imagine how tired I am of all the sexual/ heternormative shit that gets stuffed down my throat? Stop whining.
They have almost everything for themselves and straights can be supporters for lgbtq and show up to parades if they want to. You don’t need to be a part of everything to feel special.
Pride parade is just about shoving it in our faces and begging pretty much to say oh we’re normal. No your not. We are because we are straight. Have a nice day
Also, yes we do, I've faced bully because I'm straight and my group of 'friends' were part of the LGBT community, I deserve to have my pride thank you.
@acooke-13 Not saying straight people aren't ever bullied or discriminated against. Thing is, usually it's not BECAUSE they are straight. It's not common for them to be told that being straight is unnatural and that they should convert to being gay. The world in general is pretty heavily slanted towards straights.
No matter how you look at it, straights are the majority. People like the opinion owner take it a step further and insist "you LGBT people aren't normal, WE'RE normal cause we're straight." And that's the sort of thing that Pride Month is about being in opposition to. It's a sign to people struggling with their own sexuality that hey, you're not alone. There are more of us.
Straight people already KNOW there are more of them. You can't go out, or turn on the TV, or browse the net, without getting a lot of examples of heterosexual romances, which everyone treats as just normal.
@DinaM Usually, it's probably not, but in my experience it was or maybe I'd feel different about it. Yes, there are more heterosexual romances and what not on the TV, because like you said it is the majority and it has only in recent years become more acceptable to be any other sexuality than straight - there is such a stigma around it and it frustrates me that the media and shows get slated for not having more than just hetero relations - although I love the Netflix show Orange Is The New Black, there are more LGBT relationships than straight.
@acooke-13 I wouldn't say there's a stigma against heterosexual romances. Nobody (outside some very crazy bloggers) are demanding that straight people go gay, or that straight people should not be allowed to be in a relationship, or that a romance between a guy and a girl should not be shown on TV because "think of the children!"
The thing here, and what people like me are trying to get through, is that "straight" shouldn't be the ONLY acceptable sexuality. That's really why TV shows that include gay, bisexual or trans romances get that positive reaction -- because they actually DO acknowledge that we exist.
And that's something you haven't seen in pop culture for very long... couple of decades ago, you couldn't acknowledge any kind of sexual orientation other than being straight, and for a long time, if there was a gay character on a show they were generally just a walking punchline and certainly never got any sort of romance.
As for Orange is the New Black... I haven't actually got around to seeing it, but doesn't that take place in a women's prison? As in, there really aren't a lot of men around? In cases like that, you can't really have a lot of heterosexual romances because there aren't any men around to have those romances with.
In any case... Orange is the New Black is ONE show. The majority of shows are still predominantly, if not wholly, straight. Heterosexual romance isn't going anywhere, it's just that after so long of being the only acceptable thing to show, now it has to share the spotlight a little.
@DinaM I agree with a lot of what you're saying, and I certainly agree that every single sexuality should be accepted and shouldn't be frowned upon. OITNB - There are many men in there (guards, worker, boyfriends/husbands, vistors) There are various relationships, they did well making that show.
You don't push it in our faces on purpose, I believe that. Nevertheless, it IS being pushed in our faces, pretty much every day.
99% of all books, movies, TV shows, songs and even games have predominantly heterosexual romances and relationships. You can barely open a book without some guy lusting over a girl or vice versa. If a movie has one romance, 99 times out of 100 it's a heterosexual romance.
So yeah... you do push it in our faces, whether you're aware of it or not. Now, personally I don't mind this, because I think it's a silly thing to complain about. Let the straights have their fun, I say! But don't start saying that you don't have anything, because that plain isn't true. You have a LOT.
Damn I read some but not all, sorry I'm a lazy white straight male, *satanic male exhale of thought gathering* one thing I find ridiculous is that he says that LGBT is an underprivileged group when they are practically praised for being… whatever the fuck they say they are, it's like saying air is oppressed cause no one was talking to breath it (nowadays) and then he says no one wants to be different because of the negative impact, it's not a negative impact like if Hitler was like "oh hey by the way I'm a girl, I don't have a vagina but I feel like I am on the inside" some people would probably go, "hmm ya know maaaaaaaybee she isn't such a bad person" that's not entirely a joke either, fuck now I'm writing quite a bit, but, now people can throw my opion in the trash cause I didn't read everything, or because I don't have the same opinion as you, or because I'm white/male/straight or whatever I am that's being poked and prodded as pratically satanism but the fact that I read that first bit…
@Odst162acount2 Since you didn't bother to read it all, you probably won't bother to read anything I link to you... so let me just sum it up quick. ^_^
It may seem to you like LGBT people are being "praised" just for being who we are. But what you haven't seen is the centuries of oppression and prosecution that the LGBT crowd have had to face, and the discrimination that many of us have to face even today.
It's not as bad as it used to be, but speaking as a bisexual woman... I certainly have been told to my face several times how wrong and disgusting I am for not being straight, how I would go to Hell and how I should just stop liking girls.
And my story is far from the worst; there's still an alarming amount of violence against LGBT people out there today, families disown or try to "convert" their LGBT children, people harass and yell, and don't get me started on the guys who seek out lesbian women to try and get with them... "Imma turn you straight, baby!" Ugh.
And so, the praise you complain about is something that a LOT of LGBT people desperately need to hear, because they live in a society that tells them that they are WRONG, with people who tell them how disgusting and evil and unnatural they are, just for being born different.
Pride Month is a way of sharing with those people. It's a way of saying that you're not alone, and there is nothing wrong with you.
As for your Hitler comparison... being LGBT is no excuse for being a jerk. It might be an explanation, but it's not an excuse. Just as being straight is not an excuse.
I think having a pride month in general isolates the LGBT community even more- yes, society needs to better accept them, but being gay doesn’t make you different, as it’s not a choice.
@VaIiant Being LGBT, I'll argue. DOES make you different. You don't CHOOSE to be different, and in many cases you wish you WEREN'T different. But you are. That's just the reality of it. Just because it's not a choice doesn't mean it's not a difference.
In my experience, Pride Month isn't isolating at all. Quite the contrary, in fact; participating in Pride Month has led me to meet a lot of new people that I almost certainly wouldn't have met otherwise. Not all of them were LGBT, but all of them were accepting.
@VaIiant I'm sorry, but I can't agree with that. If the only way you can accept someone for who they are is to say that "they're just like me, they're not different at all!"... then you're not really accepting them for who they are.
If the goal was to not see anyone as different, then we'd have had acceptance back when the LGBT people just kept their head down and pretended not to be LGBT. Back then, nobody saw them as different either, because they hid their differences. But that's not acceptance.
I think the end goal should be not to pretend everyone's the same, but to acknowledge our differences and accept each other DESPITE those differences. To be able to look outside ourselves and say "these people aren't like me. But that does not mean they're any lesser than me, or that they don't deserve my respect and acceptance."
Maybe it's me, but I think a society is a lot more interesting if everyone if different-but-of-equal-worth, than if everyone is equal-cause-they're-alike.
@DinaM I think you misunderstood me, that’s what I mean. That we should acknowledge they’re not exactly like me, but that it shouldn’t overall effect how I see them or treat them. Thank you for having such a respectful debate with me, I really admire that on here.,
Pride is pointless when everything else gets thier own pride. Oh well back to not caring about this pride at all cause it really don't matter and won't effect me and a lot of others.

LGBT is sick. I hope that gay people will get well and find their attraction from the opposite sex. It's a condition that is not something to celebrate or to be proud. Trans.. There is no such a thing. There's 4 kind of people: fine men, mentally ill men, fine women and mentally ill women. There's no such thing, take my word!

About that violence, it's not right. Even if you're gay, you should be unviolated.
I just want to know what exactly do you consider privilege? Which privileges are you talking about? And how do you weight different kind of privileges different people do have?

No i understand, you don't mean to go against the whole idea of celebrating lgbt. And well straight people aren't oppressed.
@blubblubblub Actually, yes they are, I've had my fair share of abuse for being straight of gays/bi/lesbian etc.
I highly doubt being straight is a huge struggle you face, are isolated from society for or are judged for. Its not "abuse".
@blubblubblub You can't tell me what I have or haven't faced, or can or can't face. Oppression is defined as prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or exercise of authority. So no. Straight people are NOT oppressed.
@blubblubblub I know it isn't frowned upon - but again you aren't getting my point whatsoever. And YES they are - I agree no where near as much as LGBT people but they do.
Well. Agree to disagree. This argument isn't going anywhere. I still firmly believe heterosexuals as a group are not oppressed. You dont. Good day.

Yeah, BS! More like hetero bash. Force them to celebrate.
They should have a straight White Man pride celebration all year long for all the great accomplishments by them.
Of course gays would be against it because they are very intolerant.
:)
It already is straight white man appreciation month 12 months of the year. Straight white men are not experiencing oppression.
@MlleCake lol you must be delusional then if you mean in the USA. Straight White men are the second most discriminated against groups in the USA.
@MlleCake How little respect do you have for yourself to be playing the victim card non-stop?
@DJZest Have I claimed to be a victim?
I work for myself and from what I heard it’s usually women and blacks not getting promoted as often. I read about it in studies. I’m pretty sure most companies are not stupid enough to disregard the most qualified white people.
I kind of think that at this stage pride month is a little bit redundant, other than an excuse for gay people to have a big party. They already share all the same rights as everyone else has so there is no need for the fight for equality to continue.
Psst... You might want to read this. It's from last year.
www.independent.co.uk/.../...mmunity-a7933126.html
@DinaM as soon as I saw "The Independant" I knew it was going top be left leaning dogma
It's not dogma, it's statistics. It's about how violence against LGBT people have increased in the UK in the last few years.
@DinaM Prefer my statistics raw, from the Met or the justice department.. the thing about the media reporting statistics is they leave out what is "inconvenient" to the narrative they want to present
Ah. So what did they leave out in this instance then, in this article about people being harassed, discriminated against and beat up for being LGBT?
"Just be more focused on promoting and advertising the truth"
Pretty ironic given the liberal use f all those progressive pseudoscience terms. Seems like you don't actually know what you're talking about. Sounds like a narrative of how things where 20 years ago.
OK, and I am ready for a hate filled rude comment cringe fest. We know GAG never disappoints in that soooo *breathes in* HERE WE GO!
I'm straight and proud!!!
I'm also tired of this shit getting stuffed down my throat. I can't be neutral and I won't be for it so by their rules I'm against them.
Well imagine how tired I am of all the sexual/ heternormative shit that gets stuffed down my throat? Stop whining.
I get it. It's an attempt to break free of heteronormativity. But I think the gay pride only brings more hate.
Straights need something for them too... Not just LGBTQ SMH
THANK YOU!! Finally someone who agrees. They get praised for being the way they are, why can't we be praised for being who we are!!
@acooke-13 you're welcome! I totally agree with you as well.
Straights are already accepted as the norm in society. Heteronormativity rules the media, literature and culture.
Straits already have a lot... among other things, their dating pool is so much bigger it's not even funny. ^_^
They have almost everything for themselves and straights can be supporters for lgbtq and show up to parades if they want to. You don’t need to be a part of everything to feel special.
Pride parade is just about shoving it in our faces and begging pretty much to say oh we’re normal. No your not. We are because we are straight. Have a nice day
I think you just demonstrated why you straights don't need a pride month. ^_^
@DinaM I don't agree with what was said. But I still agree there should be pride for everyone.
(cont)
@acooke-13 I'll take your word for that, since I haven't seen the show. ^_^
@DinaM It's interesting as well as hilarious, you should give it a watch!
We don't push being straight in their faces, pride is shoving it in our face, hence why we need something to show
You don't push it in our faces on purpose, I believe that.
… says a lot, well now i gotta go and post a meme about something different entirely (IG:odst162, hit me up) lol
@VaIiant I don't feel it isolates me at all.
@DinaM I can agree with that, but I think the end goal for LGBT acceptance is to NOT see them as different.
Haha, you're being kind.
I just want to know what exactly do you consider privilege? Which privileges are you talking about? And how do you weight different kind of privileges different people do have?
