...because technically, everything is a "social construct."

This shouldn't take too long.
So something I've noticed, while listening to people who are trying to make a point but failing,
is that intense criticism of any particular noun (person, place, thing, or idea) boils down to them saying, usually as quickly as possible, that said thing is a "social construct" and therefore isn't... I'm not really sure-- real, or viable? I guess?
Well the problem with that is that literally everything in life is a social construct, other than death and the need to breathe air and drink water, or whatever.
But that's just the point-- what is "air?" What is "death?" What is "water?" What are these words we're using right now? What is language? All these things, and our labels for them, are also "social constructs" because humanity created them, or the words and labels for them, over many millennia (languages evolving into each other, etc.).

See ^ this? What is it? It's green, right? The color green. Verde. And... apparently no it isn't, if things that are "social constructs" aren't real, or the fact that they're a social construct is some kind of criticism, or something. Because what is green? "Green" is only a color because we say it is. "Male" and "female" only exist because we say they do. Money only has value because we say it does. Traffic laws only exist because we say they do. You don't drive the wrong way down a one-way street because it can be dangerous sure, but you also don't do it because it has been socially hammered into your head that you're not supposed to, and yet you don't even question it. Yet your would firmly say that all these things... exist, and are valid, wouldn't you?
Do you agree that green is real? How can you, if you feel disdain for "social constructs?"
To people who think bemoaning "social constructs" somehow makes sense:
1) You use a fork to eat your spaghetti, don't you? Why don't you just eat it with your bare hands?
2) You try not to be rude in person to people who slight you right? Why?
3) You give a "thumbs up" to people who you're cool with or give the middle finger to people who are an asshole to you sometimes, right? Why those particular gestures? Why do they mean anything?
4) You use money to try to acquire things, right? Why? It's just paper, isn't it? Why don't you try to trade and barter your goods? Why don't you try to use sea shells or rice or something to buy petrol?
5) You wear clothes don't you? And not just to protect yourself from the wind and rain and run, but also to be fashionable? Why?
6) You go to church don't you, and pray to your God? or pray privately? Why? Who told you about God?
7) You comb your hair don't you? Or wear make up if you're a girl? Why?
8) You purposely smile at people to make them feel good sometimes, right? Why?
So if you don't think "gender" is real because it's "a social construct," why are you focusing on that instead of all these other ones? From whence did the notion of gender arise at all, if it's a fraud?

Now this is not a discussion about gender, not really. This has *nothing to do* with someone's decision to identify as trans or desire to be trans. If you want to be trans, cool, do it. The point here is mainly regarding the foolhardy choice to criticize anything in life under the premise of its social construction, when literally everything is a social construction. Don't aim that hackish crap at ONE TYPE of social construction, while being wholly and completely blind to literally everything else around you that is the same thing, including these very words that you're reading right now.
Doing that makes you a hypocrite.
And once you've become a hypocrite, your opinion is worthless. You lose.
