Women should fight if the homeland is invaded. And that’s it.
Agreed. If they don't go to the battlefield at least they should be trained on how to use weapons when the Homeland defense is required.

In my country Vietnam women are not drafted. Instead they can still volunteer to join.
I think that there should be extensive mental and physical testing, for both men and women, to see if they're deemed fit to serve.
On number 6, why would the military. Need to pay for their birth control?
Military and dependents have very nice medical coverage.
It's a strange point though. There are tons of women in the military, and so this is not any more of an issue in a draft that without a draft. Also, military dependents (most of whom are women) still get the same benefits. So, fighting or not, the government pays for this in the U. S. I don't know about other countries.
NO ONE is drafted. The army is a 100% volunteer fighting force.

What an ignorant fuck. There are plenty of families where the man sits his ass at home tending to the children... doing great at it I might add, while the mom deploys to Iraq.
@chopper1977 those are rare cases and would all be where the woman wanted to be in the armed forces. Entirely different from being drafted.

Drafting an 18/19 year old male is the same as drafting an 18/19 year old female. Also, not sure where you deployed to, but it's not a war against men... there are women setting IED's, boys, girls... it's men like you that put everyone else at risk because in your sexist mind you assume it's only the men you have to worry about, when in reality it's everything with a pulse.

Same I didn't want to. It was against my own will. Right now I'm over the age of draft so I'm totally free of it.
The US Vietnam draft was only for 18 - 26 year olds so the 3 of us would likely all be too old anyway if we past the medical in the first place so it's more about what we think is right.
@sedrftvgyhujik I'm from Vietnam and the fucking stupid law here is like, when you attend the higher master college or going to the University, the draft age would be until you're 28. But if you don't attend those just two-year college and stuff then you're free by reaching 26. Two years in the military and it sucks. Big time. Glad I'm exempted of it.
@Mikey_Ramone I have asthma and it stopped me working for the fire service when i was younger so I already know id fail the UK medical probably the Vietnam one as well. even if i wanted to join.
Id be pretty resentful if I did pass the army draft medical honestly since I got turned down when I wanted to join one of the forces and forced to join one when I didn't want to be there.
@sedrftvgyhujik I heard in the UK you don't have to do the national service because you guys have long been very volunteering. Nevertheless we should be all ready whenever enemy comes to our door. Who knows.

If theirs ever a war id do more good working on there software maybe military web sights apps etc rather than fighting in the army and coming back with out of date skills if not PTSD.
@sedrftvgyhujik yeah if you're more about knowledgeable and stuff you should work on that field rather bearing the firearms out on the battlefield. Same thing would happen to me and I'm not afraid to pick up a gun, also.

@MidnightCowboy It's not about sexism. Women are physically weaker and doesn't make sense for them to be in the army. Also, they will compromise the safety of male soldiers.
