We are worse off today than we look

Intro

A lot of people still tell me that standards and the way society is today better off than it was in the past, as in decades back. While I do make the case that some things like medicine are better than they were in the past, most of what I think is better today isn't worth the rest of the trade-off. We are also growing up around much less physically healthy people.

Okay, but why?

I might describe it as two steps backward, one step forward. Everything continues to get more stupid and ridiculous-I'm serious. One example that I'm just pulling out is how in the past everyone men and women were fighting to be "more sexy" and it's true that in today's world being LGBT and "inclusive" is acceptable unlike back then, yet there are a group of people now who decided to be anti-sex and they happen to be targeting male heterosexuality in particular. These people are relatively small in numbers but they have a disproportionately large scope national and even trans-national influence. I don't doubt they have any success in the long term, I'd say not as much if it weren't for certain groups of people cowering to and being wussed out of the debate. I think that might be the reason some of the individuals who are lashing out and attacking other people over stuff.

Of course, the "woke" people today happen to be involved in activities that historically also have similar elements to authoritarian movements in other places--in retrospect they were very prophetic to today. Don't say authoritarianism if not totalitarianism, can't happen in America, Canada, or the UK.

Summary: If I chose, I'd taken to have been born no later in the 20th century in the 1970s or 1980s. The remaining of our adult future for those born after the 1980s is more fucked than not and that includes our technology. I can say that if I was born during that time to grow up later, I would have met and got laid/had a relationship with a woman who could be both physically and mentally attractive, I feel like the average guy is forced to make a trade-off between them sometimes especially in modern times. I might even ask you "Why would you think the past was always worse?"
