The patriot prayer: Who they are, what they want and their range of influence

I don’t normally write short “mytakes” but I feel like keeping this one short and simple for a change.

Note/disclaimer: Read the whole take/article before calling me a “Nazi”(which I’m not) or making unwarranted assumptions. In case you are wondering, I’m mixed(half Japanese/half Mexican) and I’m politically independent but registered as libertarian. Now onto the article.

As a result of various radical left wing movements emerging in recent years, there have also been an emergence of various far right movements emerging in response to said radical left wingers. Among these far right movements are the alt right and the proud boys. But there is one specific movement that rarely gets any coverage because they are relatively new and don’t exactly fit in the far right despite often times being labeled as “far right” by the biased media sources. This movement is called the Patriot prayer.

Their leader/founder: Joey Gibson founded this movement in 2016. Joey Gibson himself is of Japanese and Irish decent, keep that in mind before you make a fool out of yourself by labeling patriot prayer as “white supremacists”.

Not a “hate group”: They do not fit the criteria of a “hate group” which is why the Southern poverty law center doesn’t officially have them listed under their “hate group” list. How could they be labeled a “hate movement” when they welcome all races, both men and women into their group.

Denounced neo nazism: At a patriot prayer rally, Joey Gibson publicly denounced white supremacy. This surprised many counter protestors at his rally. Despite many neo Nazis and white nationalists initially being drawn towards the patriot prayer, Joey Gibson has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with them.

Their goals: They are officially considered to be a “far right” group but unlike other far right groups, they don’t receive much criticism except for their tendency to get in altercations with radical left wing counter protesters such as “antifa”. Albeit many videos clearly show antifa to be the instigators, not patriot prayer. In those videos, Patriot prayer only acts in self defense. Patriot prayer is anti totalitarian, they put major emphasis on protecting the first amendment. And if it isn’t obvious by their name, they incorporate Christian elements into their movement. Here is a video of the Patriot prayer march for Jesus. An antifa loudmouth ignoramus gets hit by a car towards the end of the video and ironically only members of patriot prayer came to his aid, while the rest of the antifa counter protesters just stood by and watched.

Range of activity: The Patriot prayer is mostly active on the West coast of the US, specifically in Portland Oregon which has been a battleground between both sides of the political spectrum, the patriot prayer has only been around for 4 years, perhaps it will continue to grow in the near future as it gets more members and more publicity.

My opinion on patriot prayer: I agree with most of their stances, they are doing the country a good service by opposing those proto totalitarian antifa anarcho-commies. And considering how the Christian faiths are currently under attack by the anti theistic radical left wing, it’s good that patriot prayer is there to stand up for Christianity. I do hope patriot prayer continues to grow and eventually it’s influence reaches from the West Coast to the East Coast of the US.
