Time for my rant. The sexism based towards girls from age 5.

So, growing up as a girl in the early 2010s, as soon as I started school I noticed something, the girls' dress code was WAY more strict than the boys.

So, you see my issue. What makes it worse is that schools are sexualizing 5 yr olds and thinking it's okay. Instead of telling boys "keep it in your pants", they tell girls "you're distracting", am I the only one who sees an issue with this?

The more you look around, the more you realize just how many sex based double standards there are in the world. One that I still think is kinda funny in a fucked up sort of way is how many parts of female anatomy that are named after men. Like they didn’t even try for some of them, like the pouch of Douglas.

@FilmGuy93 Biology in particular, but I might be bias just got my degree last year. One year of A&P but that tended to focus more on homeostasis than obscure body parts nobody really talks about.

Although the initial point still stands. Braxton Hicks was a man and I’ve sure never heard of a guy having any type of contractions. And if I remember correctly the hymen is named after a Greek/Roman god (not goddess)

You are not the only one who sees this. Most parents we're friends with agree with you. We just can't stop the school districts and the few parents who want their daughters locked up in convents.

So, you're right. This is an issue and it's a tough nut to crack.

And, the coffee machine breaking SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. Had that happen two years ago. I went to make coffee and the Keurig literally died right there. I looked at my watch, took a shower, and was standing outside Target when it opened for a new coffee machine.

Honestly I don’t really see much of a problem with the differences of the dress codes because men and women have different anatomies. I understand what you’re trying to convey, since there are some schools that overdo it. Although I mostly agree with the regulations that they have in schools because men have less private parts than women. If you have common sense then obviously women will be getting more rules for how they dress since they have different bodies then men.

You definitely aren't the only person to notice this. What I will say is that other women are a lot harsher about enforcing women's dress codes than men are.

1. This is not sexism. I'm sure it would equally be a violation of dress code if a man wore a crop top. Men can't even wear a tank top so why would girls be able to wear even less or men even less? Both sexes are being treated 100% equal in your example.

2. Even if there was sexism. Men and women are different so duh ofc sometimes they need to be treated differently. Seems common sense.

Exactly. I have been "almost" dress-coded dozens of times for things inside the dress code. And told it was my fault.
