Andrew Tate confuses me

Andrew Tate confuses me

I am not going to trash this man, because at least I don’t think he is an evil person (the allegations against him have supposedly not even been proven) and there are far worse people in the world… However, I will offer my personal thoughts on some things I have heard him say in the videos I have seen circulating the internet.

1. He advocates for men to be with innocent girls who haven’t been with a lot of men - he says virgins in particular have a higher market value but says things like “I don’t like when I am on a date with a girl and she talks about her previous experiences with men because innocence is attractive.” Umm - a girl who is with him on a date is hardly going to be as innocent as the standard of innocent he is advocating. For the kind of innocence he seems to be referring to, such a girl would not easily agree to go on a date. If she agreed it would be in the presence of a chaperone. Also, if a girl is as “pure” and virginal as what he says is the ideal then why destroy the innocence of such a girl? Marry the girl and give her the status and respect of a wife. Otherwise it will just be one more damaged girl to the list of girls he thinks are not valuable.

2. If a woman seems to be spending a lot or has a lifestyle that shows she is spending a lot (referring to girls at clubs and who go on a lot of expensive exotic holidays - I don’t know what alcoholic beverages they were referring to in particular as I am a teetotaller and have never set foot in a club in my life), Tate says it is assumed that some man is paying for it. The point I would like to make here is that he appears to imply that all women are after very rich men and that all women are materialistic. That is one thing that left me baffled. Most men in the world are not rich. There are only like 1% of extreme rich men in the world. Most men are just normal men and most normal women get into relationships with normal men. For that reason I find the commentary on such things to be a massive waste of time - it doesn’t even apply to the masses.

Most girls I know do not go after men with a lot of money - we don’t even in fact know of any multimillionaires and nor are we interested in them. Most girls I know just work, pay their bills and occasionally go out to socialise with friends. They’ll buy something nice occasionally with their own hard earned money - not expecting some man to finance them. He seems to paint everyone with the same brush a lot. Like when he said men should work hard so their daughters don’t go and get ran through by a bunch of men so these men can finance their designer purses and shoes. If that happens then the problem lies with the girl because the people I know have strong character and integrity and will work hard and save for the things they want and not get used by men in order to buy designer items. Even if it takes longer - when it comes from your own hard work it tastes sweeter. I would also take this opportunity to add that most girls I know are from broken homes. It’s all about the resilience of the individual.

3. He has supposedly recently converted to Islam. Islam is a very rigid ideology and everything is followed to the letter. It’s very black and white. If he is a Muslim because he agrees with the ideology then he must have repented for his past sins of clubbing, drinking and fornicating and he is required to hate such behaviours from his heart. If that is the case then these actions are not even a matter of concern because in one of his videos he mentioned wanting an “Islamic wife” - that would denote not staying outside late, obviously none of the activities modern Western women partake in, dressing extremely modestly from head to toe and being modest in her guise too. When I saw that I thought… but why would he deserve a wife like that when he doesn’t have a clean past? When I discussed this with others, many said if he fixes himself and starts to live a modest life then they reckoned he should be allowed to want a wife like that. I thought well that is fair enough - we all make mistakes, especially when we’re young and I suppose if they’re not repeated and one has learned well from their mistakes then we should give them a chance to build a better future.

4. There are certain points of his with which I agree. For instance that men and women should follow traditional gender roles. According to Tate, a woman’s career doesn’t matter. Being a wife and having children is what brings her joy and that husband should be providers and protectors.

However, not all men understand that concept these days though and not all women want to go down the traditional route. The cons of women being 100% financially dependent on husbands such as that if he is violent the woman will find it harder to escape when she has no resources to support herself. I think to avoid that of course we can educate girls and make sure that they are at least independent enough to be able to support themselves just in case of a real emergency like that.

With the world we live in today women have a choice of whether they want to be career women or homemakers but it seems like women who want to be homemakers are made to feel useless and lazy when it is a 24/7 thankless duty wherein a woman does not even expect anything in return. She does not even expect appreciation for all she does for her family, all she expects is to be respected for it.
