I see a lot of feminism bashing and people dont realize how far feminism has come and how much it has done for our world! Let us review what feminism has done for our world:

We no longer have just superman. We have superwomen. Yes, it is not men saving the world now. It is women. Women are no longer the damsels in distress they were once thought to be. We are the one saving mens and the entire world and little girls now have good role models to look up to. Women can save men, too.

We have made our way into the male society. Before we were just pretty objects for people to look at. Now we have powerful role models like Angelica's mom Charlotte who make it into the corporate world and stick it to Jonathan and Dr. Lipschitz. Now we can run companies and be stronger than ever before.

Now we are not just strong in the brain. We can have physical strength too! As you can see this man is trying to intimidate Sam, but she laughs. It is because she is strong and independent. She does not need his approval and if he tries to overpower her then she is confident she can defend herself. Now there is decrease in attackings on women because women are not afraid to defend.

Now we can show our sexuality and be proud of our bodies instead of letting men tell us what to do with them. We do not have to be ashamed or scared of what people think because our sex life is none of any person's business.

That brings me to my final point. Once woman had to worry about being taken advantage of while sleeping or drunk but now there are laws against that. This is rape and he cannot touch her until she consents. Back in Sleeping Beauty's time laws like this did not exist so she would be taken advantage of and feel guilty and sad her whole life. Today she is protected.

So next time people say feminism is bad or feminists are crazy you show them these points and tell them all the good that we have done.

You are picking and choosing parts of history to make women sound like they use to suffer more than men when that simply isn't true. Men didn't have any more protection under the law than women did. In fact most of the time laws offered women far more protection than men received.

It was a man's legal obligation to provide for women. The "privileges" that men had all revolved around being able to fulfill their legal obligation to women. Feminism hasn't done a damn thing to bring about equality, because it never was about equality. At best feminism fought to give women the privileges of men, but without having the same responsibilities placed upon women.

Technology helped to erase the need for gender roles and gave people more free time to worry about social change. Feminism deserves absolutely no credit. All feminism has done is lie about history to make women think men enslaved women in the past. There were very good reasons in the past for gender roles, and it had nothing to do with how evil men were, or that we wanted to enslave women to make them wash our socks.

You can pick and choose through many laws from many different countries to build a case that men were mistreated by women just as easily as you can pick and choose the facts to make women sound mistreated by men. Feminism has never been about equality, it has been about helping women, even if that means giving them unfair advantages. That is why it has a bad reputations. Only as we reject feminism do we move closer to being equal.

You think women in the past wasn't strong? Think again. Most people in the past had strength on a level most people today have never witnessed.

The average woman needs to learn to be more capable. I agree with everything you said. I don't stand for feminism, but that's how things are. If you want people to like you, you don't sit around and ask for it, you have to go out and do something meaningful/worthwhile. My dear, ignore those who are scared and uneducated making flippant remarks about feminism. Just the fact a young woman such as yourself is writing about it (you're in the 18-24 age group) is strength in and of itself.

Years ago, young women would not have even tried writing an article like this because it wouldn't have been published anywhere. I'm educated about Feminism and you're using history to justify an unnecessary movement in the Western World and that is why I decided to respond to you. Feminism might not be bad (but it DEFINITELY can be) but it is certainly unnecessary if it can be replaced by a movement that advocates justice for all. You seem to assume that only Female "Feminists" helped females get their rights in the modern world which is not true. Males helped them too even if they didn't identify as Feminist.

It's important to recognize that much of world history that Feminism preaches is inaccurate or at least exaggerated. For quite a while most people couldn't vote and most people couldn't own property at least how we see it today. Even in the United States only wealthy property owners could vote for quite a while and that included mostly older white men. Until gradually more and more people were allowed to.

Modern Feminists also try to erase gender roles which is irrational. It's based on biology.

Normally I would make a fool of myself by making some kind of joke with alto of my opinions but I am gonna but all that aside for a little while for this.

There is a saying that pretty much goes " the path to hell is paved with good intentions" roughly speaking. I mean look at all this new stuff modern day feminism is pretty much preaching about and using as excuses while they are" oppressed" and reasons why the do things.

There is a difference between feminism and this take. Feminism is the idea of women being equal to men mainly on a career standpoint. This means women should receive the same pay as a man for doing the same job which makes sense. This is just one example.

Now lets discuss the negative effects. False rape allegations are higher than they've ever been. Entitlement is at an all time high for everyone. Women are less satisfied by feminine men created by third wave feminism. The education is geared to benifits females and not males, giving them a distinct advantage. Women are given leeway for crimes (ie. drastically reduced sentences, or lack of punishment at all). Those "physically strong women think its ok to hit men, and expect not to get hit back. I agree with the fact that women need more power in the world and all of that. Women are every bit as equal as men. What's different is the mentality behind it. This would all be fine, perhaps preferable even if humans were built for social efficiency. We aren't though, the balances of hormones in our bodies make us fundamentally different. It means that women still search for men at their level or higher and attempt never to date down in any area but appearance. I support the fight for gender equality, and I support what some feminists do, but the problem why feminism gets so much hate is because it hasn't done anything for men.
Women complain that they aren't treated equally, but I don't hear them complain when they are allowed to get in free into a club or party, or havung to pay less. You complain about how you are seen as sexual objects by men, but you see men as rapists, and that's offensive too. You don't get followed or looked weird when you enter a store, like if you were gonna steal skmething.

Feminism is full of contradictions. You talked about women being encouraged to be strong and defend themselves, which I support. However feminism tends to be focused on victimhood. It relies on the victimhood mentality to gain support. "1 in 4 women will be victims of this". "1 in 6 women will be victims of that". All of what you've quoted is from the first, second and third waves of feminism.

Most of the controversy against feminism has come from a recent renewal of the movement, which is generally labelled "new wave feminism". Considering it's a movement, its agenda and policies are very different to older generations of feminism, and can't really be considered to be the same thing.

As with all movements, a movement must be judged by the actions of those who follow it, and what it achieves. a lot of people "say feminism is bad or feminists are crazy" because they tend to think that new wave feminism's agenda is the biased, unnecessary advocation of women's rights in an equal, (intrinsically) fair society.

I love when feminist today take credit for stuff 1st wave feminism accomplished. Today's feminism is NOTHING like original feminism.

Today's feminist fight to suppress, control, and bully.

It's not a stereotype when it can be backed up with ENDLESS numbers of PROVABLE examples.

Saying that nazi's bullied, controlled, and suppressed people wasn't a stereotype. It was true.
