I often hear the expression good hair when it is in reference to straight hair. Particularly by people of black community, relatives of the person or older folks when commenting on children of interracial couples where one person hair is curly (usually African) and the other parent hair is straight. What i want to know is why we consider straight hair as good hair while curly hair is considered bad hair? Example of curly hair: Anyone care to wager? And i think this might be true on a subconscious level to a lot more peoples seeing people all races prefer to straighten their hair than have it curly.
