Why are Asians so cliquey?

A lot of Asians in my school are cliquey and only mingle with other Asians (or Whites at the most). They won't even talk to Blacks or Hispanics or anyone non - Asian/White, much less hang out with or date them. Schoolwork and business reasons are the exceptions.

Why are they cliquey? I know they would stick with what they know, but the blacks and Hispanics I know maintain their own culture and mingle/date interracially (not just with Whites, but everyone else)

I think it is true but I still dont know why
There is antisocial culture that is heroized
but I think it does not work so their sad story is still heroized in the culture.

There is class in the culture I dont know why they adapt it
Maybe like a fear make them in the middle class
So they just can bully low class never higher than them
that is really different from they try to show in the reality.

I mean it happens with a lot of different ethnicities.
You get a bunch of Russian kids over there , a bunch of brown kids over there , a bunch of Asians over there , then you get a bunch of locals over there.
Then you get your odd Captain Planet group who's so diverse you can use it as for a racial equity poster.

In my school it was because it was an international school and their English simply wasn't good enough, and maybe also because they didn't wanna mix? Lol I don't know I found that was particularly true for Vietnamese, Chinese & Spanish though, so it was more a national rather than a continental thing.

Hmmm, a lot of Asians at my school are the children of immigrants or from around the world themselves. So, they hang out a lot because they have a lot of things in common. It must be nice in a school that's overwhelmingly white, to have someone who gets 'it'

I am Asian and I have noticed that too. Unfortunately I believe it's a comfort zone and status thing. Asians especially from their homeland country who don't speak English well feel only comfortable with people of the same ethnicity (Chinese sticking with other Chinese, Koreans only being with other Koreans, etc). Whereas both Asian Americans and Foreign born Asians love hanging out and only associating with Whites because it is a status thing and they feel that's acceptable by their families and everyone.

When I was going to college, I tried to talk to everyone whether they were female or male, black, Asian, White, Hispanic, etc, gay or straight. It didn't matter to me. I just wanted to get to know everyone. Unfortunately I will admit, I'm awkward and shy and not very good at connecting with people, but I don't discriminate if someone wants to conversate with me. My only friend in college was surprisingly a sweet girl from South Africa. Asians had this rat race and competitive mentality even towards eachother so I didn't make any friends there. Hispanics also can be cliquey (only speaking Spanish with eachother and hanging out with other Latinos). Blacks and Whites were the most likely to not care and mingle with everyone. Even though there are a few Blacks in my experiences who hang out more with other Blacks. Still though these two are more likely to talk and expand out more than Asians and Hispanics (at least in my experiences, not saying all are like this).

I've noticed that to. The one exceptions being Filipinos and the occasional Japanese person. We had alo't of Japanese exchange students and they were really open to interacting with everyone.

I love me some Filipinos, haven't meet one i didn't like. I found the Chinese kids where super cliquey'. The Laotion and Vietnamese kids were comfortable interacting with other races.

The short answer is that Asians are racists.

The long answer is that we assume everyone else is racists by default, and our racism is just reflex. White people is the exception because we like money, and we're pragmatic. You can't make money in this world without the approval of white people in western countries.

Asians are far more community minded than whites, blacks, etc; so it only stands to reason that they would close ranks with their own. Also whites have high status so Asians can acceptable Nile/ date them without their family giving them crap.
Blacks and Hispanics are seen as low class, while whites/ Asians are high. This is just the perception, don't bash me sjw's.

I had heard rumblings over the years of some tension between Asian American and other minorities but never really saw it explained to be honest.
