I am not hugely religous by any means. I am of the Christian faith but do not regularly practice it but this is just a no for me. What do you think?

Sacrilege might be the better word for it. Yet, it is also rather enlightening. It spells out in no uncertain terms why a Jewish couple living during the time of the Roman Empire were selected to bear the Messiah, and not 21st-century Americans.
First off, the shepherd boy. The realization that 1/3 of the Trinity had assumed physical form and was about to prove true the seemingly impossible declarations of men from hundreds of years ago - prophets, kings, judges, etc. - whom most of the world had long since written off as crazy - that would emit a compulsion to respond with reverence.
Hipster Shepherd Boy cares way too much about his phone to care about the God-Baby that will one day negate a universal paradox that would otherwise catch-22 Hipster Shepherd Boy's ass straight to Hell, with zero workable workarounds.
But nope. It's all about the latest frickin' iPad. Because dude - it's an iPad!
Hipster Joseph is no better! There is a reason Joseph says so little in Luke's Gospel: because he knew his life was not all about him! When he began to question that following Mary's claims of Trimalian Insemination - the nearest equivalent human procedure not existing until a few thousand years later - it took an angel messing with his head in his sleep to convince him all would be well.
Hipster Joseph's vanity betrays all of that. Moreover, Hipster Mary doesn't look the least bit exhausted after giving birth. By the 1st century, Jewish women were not as hardcore as the Egyptians made them out to be in Moses' day. So that makes no sense. And Mary making that gesture would not match her humility and mindset of servitude either, as evidenced from the text. This Mary is quite contrary.
And the Wise Men... suffice to say, this portrayal of them is wrong on so many levels.
Also noteworthy: the Prophets and Luke never mention a stable. Bethlehem residents often kept livestock and feeding troughs in a side room off the living room. A kind-hearted man most likely invited them in to give birth in his living room, since the inn had no vacancy.
So a home birth situation would have been more accurate than the 16th-century German stable. Besides, even hipsters still believe in giving birth in the hospital. The parenting prep industry, to make more hospital money profit, has scared women into swearing off home birth. So now, all births are treated as though she had a broken bone. Which is why everyone's too broke to have kids after paying the hospital's inflated fees.
There is a reason Joseph says so little in Luke's Gospel:

@jacquesvol : He didn't do that. His method bypassed the vagina entirely. Like a reverse C-section. Also, to fulfill the promise to King David, he needed Mary's DNA.
Moreover, Jews had been fed prophecy of this for centuries. Joseph knew what needed to happen and why. His pride got in the way at first. He saw no reason it had to involve him at first, because he was a nobody carpenter. Also, he didn't want his disbelieving family to interrogate him.
Any how, the whole gospel was only written down generations later, then copied and translated by many groups in cloisters and abbeys, then copied by hand many times, correcting the supposed errors of the previous copiists. Each one had the theology theories of the bishop controlling them (and fighting each other). Only the Councils of Nicea and Carthage brought some consent about doctrine.
@jacquesvol : That's why the canonical ones, written by the disciples and their associates themselves from the FIRST generation, had their most immediate work preserved by believers in Syria. And so the oldest, most accurate works, are those the Coptics possess. Why do you think our government tried to orchestrate genocide against the Coptics, and arranged for some of the oldest copies of the New Testament in its original Greek to be burned by ISIS?
@ObscuredBeyond Do you REALLY think the US govt. would have ANY interest in destroying Gnostic texts? There are copies of Gnostic 4th century gospels in the Vatican and they have been copied and numerized: the Nag Hammadi library.
The other old text are the Codex Sinaiticus and the codex Vaticanus, both 4th century. Anyhow, only the texts accepted by the councils of Nicea (325 CE) and Carthago are considered the canon of the Christian creed.

that nearly 2000 yr old fight between Alexandria, byzance and Rome isn't over yet.
I like the idea of it, but they need to come up with something different than the Segways. I don't think hipsters ride Segways. However, they do like bikes and always seem to own dogs. I'm not sure what I'd put them on instead of Segways.
Its not blasphemous because the original drawing of the nativity scene is only an interpretation of it in the bible. No one knows exactly what the place jesus was born in looked like.
Im indifferent to it, i dont find it funny nor do i think is blasphemous It just is what it is.

its tasteless for sure, I'm not offended though,
I wouldn't say its hilarious
Me either but its still a no
I think that it is just stupid there is nothing hip about it. Does it offend me no not really. It is more like wtf would you do something stupid like that.
It does not offend me religiously. It offends my sense of style in art.
I think it's hilarious and it's obviously meant as satire, not to offend Christians.
I can see the humor kinda I mean it would be fun to sing We Three Kings of Willamsburg Are...
I think it's funny, it's not that funny really but it is a little. Don't be so uptight people, it's not a reason to get upset or argue over.
It's kind of stupid. It's not offensive, but when you think about it, it acknowledges traditions associated with Christmas but puts the focus on modern lifestyles while saying nothing about the traditions themselves, good or bad. It's just kind of there.
Nor really, but whatever. Let them do whatever they want.
Its. not like I'm going to behead them or anything.
I am somewhere in the middle - It seems very silly to me
It gave me a laugh but it was because they're mocking Christmas.
This post made me want to shoot myself, but in a good way 😊
Hilarious. Nice 21st century spin on a 1st century event. But I'm an atheist.
Blasphemous but best to ignore it. They need a reaction so they can feel smug and justified.
I don't think it's funny and we don't have blasphemy laws in America so it isn't that either.
Six states still have laws against blasphemy: Massachusetts, Michigan, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Wyoming, have laws which reference blasphemy.

@jacquesvol interesting. I think we have an obscure law in Massachusetts that says we can't dance during the national anthem but it isn't followed.
And there are states that exclude non believers from office.
@jacquesvol federal law trumps state law in states with that. The constitution says there can be no religious tests for office.
Regardless, it is concerning that like 7 states even have laws like that on the books to begin with.
@jacquesvol Yeah public opinion needs to change towards atheists before they even have a chance of being openly elected anyway in most areas. I'm sure there have been plenty but they've had to lie about it in order to get elected.
Ugh. Stupid and sacrilegious.
It's funny, but I'd just ignore it.
insulting.. 3 wise men on a segueway delivering amazon boxes? are they at least Amazon Prime?
that's lame
I just smh when I see a hipster.
I wouldn't say blasphemous, but I don't like it
Not a fan at all
Is blaphemy against the Law?
