I'm cautious around spiders, but I'm not particularly afraid of them. I respect them and remain alert when there is a spider danger. I figure that spiders don't particularly want to bite me-- they'll just bite me if they feel threatened. I've held a couple tarantulas before and wasn't bitten.
Likewise, it's very rare I'll encounter any spider that can do serious damage in the places I'm typically around.
Spiders also helped me out last year when there were millipedes in my apartment which was nice. (I lived on a ground floor unit, and there were a bunch of millipedes in the area.) Jeffra, the friendly (and harmless-to-humans) corner spider, took down dozens of em before she decided to have a bunch of Jeffra eggs. (That's when I drew the line) Before that though, she basically paid her rent and did her fair share of work haha
I think they also look pretty cool. Often times they have patterns on them which is like a natural art piece.
My daughter, who is 26, has had a terror of spiders since she was a baby.
Here in Australia, that is a good thing, because a bite from a funnel-web spider has been known to kill an adult in 15 minutes; the red-back spider will kill a child; and the white-tailed spider has a venom that causes flesh to die and fall off the bones, in a way that is similar to North America' brown-recluse spider. There is no antidote. If bitten, expect to lose the hand, foot, arm, leg in a slow and particuluarly nasty way.
We also have the huntsman spider, which is harmless to humans, but terrifies some people because it is the size of an adult hand.
When one appears on the polished-wood cathedral ceiling of her bedroom, my daughter screams, dances about and demands that I get an air rifle and shoot the unfortunate creature.
Wow...
The Northern Tree Funnel-web is even more lethal than the infamous Sydney species , but rarely encounters people.. it is a a beast of a spider !!
women. it's actually an evolutionary psychological thing. a spider bite could be fatal to a baby even when the woman is pregnant. so, as a form of self protection, women are afraid of them. fight or flight kicks in and the woman's brain always chooses flight.
I honestly think it depends on the person and exposure. There are a few poisonous spiders that eat away ate your flesh and they aren't my favorite. But I'm more afraid of flying cockroaches because they are nasty and carry disease.
Where have u seen flying cockroaches haha
Yeah you laugh. These bitches don't fly like a helicopter off the ground or anything. For if they are up a tree they have two sets of wings. An upper wing and under wing and they can hold their height for a pretty good distance.
They are the fucking worst. Usually you find them in heavy forested areas with water but they will find their way into a cabin. I took my mosquito net under my mattress out of fear of these buggers.
yea they are pretty nasty and you hear such a loud cruch when you kill them
*crunch
Did you have to post those scary things picture? 😨 It sent shiver down my spine.
Oh, and I think it's a tie.
Lol ...
women are more.
*runs like hell*

I get chills just looking at those spiders.
I needed something accurate to how I feel
I used to be really afraid of spiders, until I signed up for a psychology experiment that had me handle a tarantula (I didn't know that going into it!). At first, I was scared as all hell. But once I started touching the tarantula, I became okay with it really quickly (within like 2 minutes). Now I'm not really afraid of spiders nearly as much as I was.
I wonder how many people are more afraid of smaller spiders than big ones. Plenty of people have pet tarantulas. They are usually not venomous, and are big enough that you can see where they are regardless. Tiny spiders are insidious. They could be climbing on you right now. They could bite you in the middle of the night or hide in your shoe or clothing.
I like spiders and snakes and stuff. I catch them and throw them out I remember one night my dad caught a spider the size of a mouse. He just grabbed it and put it in the back garden. It's legs were sticking out from his knuckles. My mum and sister had seen it earlier in the day and moved out to live with her sister lol. They wouldn't come back. After seeing my dad in action I had to try and live up to him so spiders are no problem. Apart from the seriously big bastards. Fuck that. Yeeechhh
Im not but only because there aren't really any big spiders where we live. I am grossed out/scared of big bugs except generally bumblebees and flies. Ants are chill too but they aren't big. If there were big spiders where I lived, Id probably be grossed out/scared of them too though. I don't know if that actually counts
I don't have severe arachnophobia or something like that, but they do obviously make me feel icky, especially these big ones.
I come from a country where a spider with a body larger than 1 cm (1/2.54 th of an inch) is considered large, so I'm not quite used to seeing large spiders.
Why the FUCK would you do something as irresponsible as post pictures of spiders? Mercy me, I'm scratching myself like a crackhead because of that.
I'm on the app. 😢
If my wife seen that she would piss her pants grab the kids and drive out the house and wait until I get home to kill it to come home. I would be like holy shit!! I think I would try to capture it more than kill it that size in the pic.
I think everyone scares of this little fucker men or women.
That's my favourite! I love them 😍 they're so cute!!!
@loveshorro I'm sorry I want to puke when I look at their little hairs.
wow that was an awesome video, never seen it in action, only heard of it until now.
They said its found in venezuela and brazil, only a matter of time until someone brings it to the US and it starts spreading
Wife: EEEEEEEK!

Husband: What's going on here?
Wife: There's a spider!
Husband: I got it.
-Husband rolls newspaper hits and misses spider-
-Spider runs off-
Husband: It ran away
Wife: ...
-House for sale-
Was bitten by a desert Wolf Spider whilst serving in the Saudi desert during the 1990/91 Desert Storm campaign , not lethal , but painful , so have healthy respect for them , there are a few here in the UK that may bite. Gender wise , females are more fearful of spiders , but a lot of men fear them too... evolutionary response , as some are harmful & a few can kill.
Spiders are sinister and demonic creatures that crawled straight out of the pit hell. 😨
Oh god.. Kill it for the love of god. Just kill it. Lol
I could probably deal with tarantulas because their size makes me think they are more sentient than the little ones. But the little ones exist only to scare me so i'd rather be on a one way trip to mars than deal with small spiders
I do and i don't some have pretty colours like blue and white gray red orange pink i just don't like the eyes and fangs it creeps me out but every Thing else is fine the legs are cute and the butt it's just the eyes and fangs gaaah so nasty 😁😷
I'm not scared of spiders... I just have an intense desire to delicately perform mass genocide upon their entire species.
They're friends! They eat pests and keep houses clean and don't bother you if you don't bother them. I love them.
True true, what if they are in your way tho
Women obviously.
As magical as they are they have certain drawbacks. Being afraid of spiders being one of those drawbacks ;P :P :)
I like spiders. I let them keep in my home (I don't have pets). Gotta decrease those nasty other insects.
I have to take care of the spiders for my brothers still. They are 20 and 18.
Probably Women Here, dear.
However, Speaking for Me, I am not Scared but just don't Like the Spikes. xx
