14 Year Old boy rapes 14yo girl. Whom do you blame?

A 14 yo boy rapes a 14 yo girl in a school. And he was sent to jail for 14 years without any counciling. He was a drug addict. To whome will you blame for this rape?

Note: This question isn't about rehab or counciling. It is purely about blame. And if you think *It was girls fault she wore revealing clothes then please do not share opinion on my thread*

unless the parents taught the boy that raping women was acceptable i don't see how we can or should blame the parents

at 14 we should know what is acceptable behavior. based on the story it seems clear that he was a predator and thus knew that the behavior wasn't tolerable or acceptable otherwise he wouldn't have been waiting around empty stairwells but rather just walked up to her in a more public setting

perhaps the parents could have done better but it is evident that the guy knew that he was doing something that wasn't acceptable

(sigh) He assaulted her. No one held a gun to his head. This isn't a case of two kids messing around and "accidentally" having consentual sex. It was a brutal violation. Frankly, I'd toss the principal in the next cell over. WTF are there cameras for, if not to prevent this sort of thing? Where was the resource officer? She fought him off for 20 minutes, and the school superintendent claims that the staff "responded swiftly"? To what; a noise complaint?

My thing was I don't think he deserves life. Maybe 20 years with other aids to the jail time, such as counseling and therapy.

I totally agree, there's always someone who's at the desk with the cameras, especially after school because they have to spot the fights in the halls to break them up. Someone wasn't doing their job, and someone else should be going down for this. More people should be looked at in this situation. We have a fucking police officer that is assigned to our school and is supposed to be there.

The superintendent always responds like that. Whether its people trying to entice students to 'take a ride with them' before school, or if it's guns in lockers. They responded 'swiftly and took the best course of action'.

Well I blame the parents of the boy because they should have taught right from wrong and hopefully they did... But at the same time I blame the boy because he had no right to do that to her at all

My first instinct is to say the boy, sense it was in no way the girls fault because of what she’s wearing or if she knows self defence. However I don’t think him being a drug addicted would also be to blame, but he should know better and someone should have thought him that. This kinda makes me think it’s more then just his fault. It was the boys decision to do it so ultimately he's at fault. There are others in very similar circumstances that do not choose to rape someone so there is no excuse. There is however a little leeway in protecting him with certain correctional processes due to his young age and circumstance.

The boy is at fault. He is old enough to know what's right and wrong, and him being a drug addict dosen't justify the rape becuse it's still rape. I don't care what the girl was wearing, she is the victim in this case and it's not fair to blame the victim.
