Innocent until proven guilty applies to our judicial system and nowhere else.
If you can find me a case where an innocent person is being skewered in the press for sexual harassment or abuse, I'd love to talk about it specifically.
Aziz Ansari... He literally had a girl voluntarily suck his dick twice in the same night and cried rape the next day because "it was easier to suck his dick twice than just say no" it was also stated that Aziz did try to escalate the situation but backed off as soon as the girl said no
All she has done is described the circumstances of what happened, much of which he has not denied. He doesn't appear to have recognized her reluctance at several points.
The discussion about Ansari and this woman is more about helping everyone understand what enthusiastic consent means and why it's important. Not necessarily to ruin his career or even find him guilty of a crime.
I'm not even particularly bothered by this incident or him specifically.
The scenario is just means to further the dialogue.
How could he recognize her reluctance if she sucked his dick twice? We're not mind readers you know. If you get on your knees and give us oral sex at your own will, we might possibly take that as you being interested. It's not like Aziz put a gun to her head or anything.
And because the woman regretted it later, it's considered rape and Ansari's career was heavily impacted. I'm sure you're not bothered when an innocent man's livelihood is in shambles when some random girl cried regret rape. A lot of women who pull that shit aren't and that's why the #metoo movement has turned into a complete joke.
A woman cries rape, and a man's reputation is shot: family/friends disassociate from him, workplace termination is likely, and the stigma tarnishes his image in the community.
Meanwhile, research indicates that as many as 41% of all sexual assault reports were found to be proven false.
That's a staggering number that can't be ignored. Is it unfortunate for women that are genuinely assaulted, while other women merely pretend to be? Absolutely and it tarnished the reputation of women everywhere who report their assaults. But the men who have wrongfully been accused of committing these crimes are no less a victim being taken advantage of by their 'assaulters.'
It’s not proven but I’m 99% sure that melanie martinez is getting falsely accused of raping her former best friend timothi heller. Timothi‘s story keeps changing it at this point she doesn’t even seem to be taking the matter seriously anymore. She laughed while talking about her getting raped! If you don’t know about it and your interested in mthe matter i suggest watching some of the videos from ‘mel’s corner’ and read the tweets from both on your own
Actually, the only modern research done on enough cases so far puts false reports at about 2-11%, and about 78% of false claims are for violent attaker rapes.
That doesn't mean she is necessarily making a true claim - of course each time it comes up, it's on a case by case basis always.
I wouldn't say that 41% of them are false, but it's still bullshit that a woman can cry rape and pretty much get away with it scotfree. Either the guy goes to jail and has his life ruined or the woman just goes "oops, I guess he didn't do it after all, teehee". There's no consequences for a woman to do something like that and the judiciary system favors women over men in a lot of cases. That's why women who falsely accuse a man of rape should go to jail for i'd say about half the time as the alleged rapist would or face a fine. Why shouldn't women be held accountable for their misconduct?
The study says AS HIGH as 41%. The median numbers are closer to 30%-35%. Which is still greater than 1 out of every 4 women falsely reporting an innocent man.
No. Civilised people do not punish people with prison or any other punishment such as firing, who are not PROVEN guilty even if they believe they ARE guilty. It's called protecting the innocent even if the guilty go free. But you don't give a fig about that do you?
@dwinet That's what happens when laws are carried out based on feelings instead of factual evidence. A woman can "feel" however which way and it's the consequence of the man for not being more cognizant of her "feelings" instead of the woman for acting irrationally.
So, I can't respond to all the comments on this, just too much going off in all different directions.
I posted a link to the original story. I am not saying it is right or wrong, just that these are the things the woman is claiming.
When you read it, according to her, she was giving some pretty clear signals of reluctance, and she is not alleging rape. @Asker, when you have read that original report, let me know, and we can go over some things.
Her reason for making the claim is that she felt Ansari was being hypocritical showing up on an awards show with a #TimesUp pin on, because she felt he had some changes he needs to make in his perception of acceptable behavior.
His own statements do not deny her allegations, only that he and she interpreted the night differently, that he understands she did feel uncomfortable, and that he has spoken to her privately to resolve the matter. He also said he continues to "support the movement". He says, in fact, that he took her words to heart.
And because of the way he responded, many feminists are not skewering him, but saying "please, just learn from your mistakes."
In this case he seems to have been somewhat coercive - not radically so, but not very pleasant about asking and gaining consent.
So, you tell me. If the #metoo movement and the #timesup movement are about exposing ways in which people are commonly sexually harassed and coerced, do you think this has exposed such a situation?
Admittedly, there has been no effort to bring him up on charges and I doubt it will happen unless some huge new detail is suddenly revealed.
If this incident helps us discuss what enthusiastic consent means, what it looks like, why it's important, then I really don't think #metoo has gone too far.
As long as people are still at great risk of harassment and sexual assault from acquaintences, it hasn't gone far enough.
And to the other poster, neither the FBI nor the DOJ considers 41% of rape allegations to be false.
@dwinet yes they do. Especially hen the evidence has been doctored which has been a growing concern (and led to a number of convictions being overturned).
i completely agree. thats my greatest fear is being accused of a crime i didn't commit especially rape. once you get accused of rape, even if you didn't do it, your life is over. anything you've built for yourself is gone. the only thing people will associate you with is rape. now if you actually did it then you deserve it but if you didn't do it then your life is ruined forever. and i don't agree with the fact that girls can lie on it and then have nothing happen to them when we find out they lied. they should be put away for as long as a man would've and be ordered to pay him for the fact that she just ruined his entire life.

"Dayum I'm really bored today, what can I do? I got it, let me check trollypasta for triggering inspiration, yes yes the hate is flowing through metoo let's use make this shitpost!" Good choice but obvious troll is obvious. Weak bait 5/10 gimme my tasty salty triggered down votes down here my dear bicbois tyvm 😏
Yes you are right. A person should be considered innocent until proven otherwise by a court of law. MeToo is a great show of freedom of speech but it should be known that this is a public opinion and companies and societies should not take this as final decision about a person.
It would work were it not for the fact that the movement is mostly led by despicable, evil people. Crime in general should be fought by everyone. But, too many of the women in metoo look to be sociopaths.
Is it really surprising though. This movement is mostly focused in Hollywood.
The 'movement' has lost some of its bite, because it is exploited by media and individuals to satisfy their crave for attention where there is no base. This harms all those who are originally addressed by the campaign. I no longer pay attention to it, but rather feel repelled by each new 'case' popping up.
Any sane lawyer will tell you to never go to the media with an acusation because your credibility will always suffer from it.
I really want to say though if you have been through a sexual agression please take it to justice. Don't be like me and wait t'ill it's too late and your credibility suffer from it.
I may be the contrarian on this, but I think the hashtag me too trend has about run its course.

If men started accusing women for the same things women are accusing men of... you'll see how quickly this comes to a halt. At the 3 companies I've worked for. I've seen far more women being inappropriate towards men, than the other way around. The problem is. Men don't report these things so it only looks like men are the perpetrators. I've also heard that from friends as well.
Some, yes. There can be extremes on both sides (for anything).
Listen, someone can find "dirt" in anyone's past. Unless it's a crime (and not past the statute of limitations), forgive and move on. You can confront the person privately (with 1 or 2 other people), but taking it to the media is not helpful. It might make you feel better, but it just opens a can of worms. (John 8:7, Mark 11:26)
Having been a victim of false unsubstantiated claims of sexual harassment I simply do not involve myself with female coworkers period. It's changed the whole way I do things. Extra cautious because I was fired outright no evidence. It was bullshit. I later was later cleared when she deemed uncredible because if her behavior resulting in criminal charges.
And how well were those policies working, given that so many incidents are now being reported? It’s almost like making something forbidden doesn’t actually stop it from happening.
In the state of Texas 'domestic abuse' only requires that the victim states they" felt pain"... No physical or supporting evidence required for arrest or conviction by a jury. Second conviction in a year is automatic felony... (And the judge, in selecting us juries made it clear she only wanted juries who could convict solely on 'i felt pain'.)
The entire SJ left is out of control. Having said that Innocent until proven guilty is a cornerstone of our legal system. It however, does not and never had has any affect in the court of public opinion. Aziz is almost certainly innocent of rape. However, since he is lefty and most of his punch lines "that's why men suck" I can't stop laughing at him long enough to give a shit.
Unfortunately the #metoo movement is a meme that some are desperate to become a part of, even to to the point of dishonesty. It's clear that many women have tragic stories of abuse that should be swiftly and harshly delt with. But sadly, the ones who dishonestly jump on the bandwagon have done nothing but create doubt and obstruct justice from properly being served.
Why do we need a #metoo movement and courts that favor women if women are "equal"? If you're equal then mace the guy in the face and call the cops or (this might be a hard concept) REPORT THE CRIME? Otherwise, women aren't equal and we should treat them like the delicate little flowers they are
I would be fine with the whole thing if the accuser ends up getting caught lying and their was actually consequences involved for messing someones life up and putting them threw hell. You hear about the same women accusing guys of rape 4 and 5 times, all being false accusations before the police step in and slap her on the wrist.
See, it's been popular for several years for leftists to try to swarm attack and ruin (or as they call it, deplatform) anyone they dislike. Now, Hollywood is just teeming like sharks. Even anonymous accusers not accusing anything illegal can do serious damage. Except, there's no right wing people left in Hollywood to harm!

You consider the FBI and DOJ to be nonsensical sources of statistics?

It's become not only a witch hunt, but it seems to be devaluing a woman's experience. Like the boy who cried wolf.
I want to be able to believe it when a woman says she has been sexually assaulted. Now I'm not as convinced so quickly. This is harmful for women.
