I don't really care what people wear at all, but I was at my aunt's last summer, and usually I go for the feminist let people wear whatever they want argument, but when she just argued back
"Well if they're going to expose and draw attention to a certain area, why are they complaining" I didn't really know what to say back because this isn't an argument I normally go into when I delve into feminism (which is something I annoy all of my friends about constantly) especially because as a male, I really don't feel like I can have a say either way without being not politically correct. The default answer is "I don't care wear whatever," and in reality, I really don't.
But then again, if I do see a woman wearing something that's super revealing, I do feel uncomfortable, when I really think about it. Because I know I'm not supposed to look, so I stare at my feet or somewhere else though I do feel the instinctive urge to glance the second I see her, and there's skin exposed underneath - at which point, I look away as the sexually repressed brown dude I am. It's worse if I doze off and stare into the distance (As a writer, this is a common habit) and someone settles down in front of me and sends me a dirty look later on.
I definitely feel the same when I'm around shirtless men (which is next level, but I hear women have been allowed to go shirtless, so I guess I can't argue? Even though I'd prefer if everyone could just keep their shirts on, personally) but men don't generally wear provocative clothing. It's a selectively female trait, I've never in my life seen provocative male clothing, and I'm sure it exists but I don't think it's something you see often. So there's not much to compare it too, do you think you would be distracted if men wore low cut shirts?
