Man strangles and sexually assaults a woman, gets no jail time and doesn't have to register as a sex offender. Prosecutor calls it a "pass". Thoughts? (Page 3)
Schneider and Grannik should both go to prison. After each sexually aggressive inmate takes a turn raping them, we'll just give each rapist "one pass". Fortunately, the DA is usually an elected position. So the locals can replace him with a more reasonable official. Thanks to social media, they can mark him for life and he'll never work in public service again, but a scumbag like that would be gleefully embraced as a defense attorney for criminals.
Saw a bit on this it's a fucking joke and so unacceptable

Well, I could make a massive list of all the women that either got probation, no jail time, or no punishment at all for sexually assaulting a minor aged student while in the position of power as a female teacher in public/private schools. The list is long and it continues to happen.
This is horrible. However I expect nothing less of a conservative state. It is clear that Republicans don’t care about the rights or welfare of women.
It's a horrible miscarriage of justice.. on that same token it's far more common for women to get a pass than it is for men. Just google, female teacher has sex with student and you will see what I mean.
Is there no more to the story? If its just as it sounds like he randomly attacked her then that is a really poor judgement and that isn't justice. It seems like there must be more to it.
I would've strung him up from the nearest sour apple tree.

"... when the attackers repeatedly only end up getting a slap on the wrist?"
Oh bullshit. This is one incident. Stop trying to make it sound like it's a regular occurrence. What you're doing here is exactly what you're criticizing the QA for doing in this question.
Are you seriously going to use the Guardian and Romper as your sources? Sorry, I'm not even going to read those beyond the headlines because they are always biased, unsubstantiated nonsense, which is typical of feminist rhetoric today.
If you can show me real and verifiable evidence that the percentage of men who are proven to have committed rape who were not appropriately punished for their crimes is even remotely close to the percentage of feminist who are complete fucknuts like the one in the video in the other question, then I will listen to you argument. Otherwise, please don't waste my time again.
Quick question: what is the evidence that this is actually what happened?

Well first of all he admitted to the crime, and second of all I'm guessing he came all over her (which is why he handed her a tissue), so there's DNA evidence at least, plus probably bruising around her neck from the strangulation.
1) Why was there a plea when he admitted it? That smells. 2) Having cum on your jacked doesn't in any way imply that you were strangled before. That's not evidence. The semen could be the result of consentual sexual activity.
"plus probably bruising around her neck from the strangulation." You're speculating. I was asking for evidence, not your ideas.
Well from the sources I've read they didn't go into the specifics of what they viewed as evidence and what they didn't. But this is how she told her story and he didn't deny any of it. Why would he agree to go to counselling if he didn't do it? He even said that the trial has supposedly opened his eyes and made him want to become a better father/husband or some other bullshit. It's a clean cut case and none of the sources I've seen have so far speculated whether the evidence is fake or if she's lying. It's pretty cut and dried.
"Well from the sources I've read they didn't go into the specifics of what they viewed as evidence and what they didn't." Of course you didn't. Who cares about fairly representing the events, right? Next time if you read one sided sources, at least include a link. I am not defending the guy, but this is fishy. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
"But this is how she told her story and he didn't deny any of it." wait, so he was asked "did you do it?", and he replied "I won't say I didn't."? Or are you referring to the plea?
Do you know what a plea is? It's essentially a deal with the court to get a smaller sentence for admitting you are guilty. The guy had little to lose wizhweight the plea, and a LOT to lose with risking a trial -even if he is innocent, the trial could take several years, and he could get jailed for life. In his position, I would have taken the plea even if I knew I was innocent. Courts are slanted in favour of women anyway.
"Why would he agree to go to counselling if he didn't do it? He even said that the trial has supposedly opened his eyes and made him want to become a better father/husband or some other bullshit." Wait,. so you think he was honest when acceptinf councelling, but DISHONEST when saying he accepts it to become a better person? I feel like you are trying to paint this guy in the worst light possible, and contradicting yourself in the process.
"It's a clean cut case and none of the sources I've seen have so far speculated whether the evidence is fake or if she's lying." So there IS irrefutable evidence now? Why didn't you mention it?
Frankly, I think you don't understand how the judicial system in your own country works.
Oh geez. If you're that interested in finding out if this was all just a fake allegation then go ahead and do your own research. This is the research I did an nowhere I looked, in none of the articles I found, was there an ounce of doubt that this man did what she claimed he did. So if you're dead serious about finding some other type of "proof", then go ahead. I've presented the facts I've researched, so you present yours instead of just speculating what "might" have "really" happened.
"This is the research I did" Well, you really such at objective journalism, even for a layman.
"in none of the articles I found, was there an ounce of doubt that this man did what she claimed he did." And what did you read? You still haven't stated your source. Was it CNN? TNC? Vice? LOL
Here, read the reply of farnsworth_esq www.reddit.com/.../ Apparently the guy is a defense attourney, and it looks like he knows what he talking about.
So you come at me wondering what sources *I* used for my research but then YOU pull up a link to fucking reddit where some random dude in the comments may or may not be a defense attorney? Lmaaooooooo

So... seems fair and square from that angle ;)
It's so stupid. That's seriously his punishment? He has to go to counseling and only loses his job? That's insane!!!

If this happened in Saudi Arabia he would be executed.
This is horrible. However I expect nothing less of a conservative state. It is clear that Republicans don’t care about the rights or welfare of women.

Preach the gospel sister! 🙇
That is fucking wrong
This is injustice. Freaks like these belong behind the sturdy electricity charged cages.
I also refer to what olderandwiser said.
I'm too shocked to give a good opinion! Sjeez this world is so weird and wrong!

Can you provide a link to the actual articles?
Not trying to question you here i just want to read more about it.

It is a pretty regular occurrence actually.

Okie dokie
This case needs a re-do and prosecutor Andrew Grannik needs to be fired. This is disgusting.

That's messed up. There should be no passes for that behavior.
It's his "one pass" to teach himself how to not get caught next time. Shame.
Right? Smh
This is why the #MeToo movement exists. But it doesn’t matter, it’s over and done with. It’s probably her fault anyways
That sounds too ludicrous to not have more than just the turn of events mentioned.
What do you mean?
@Benedek38
Exactly what I just posted. Do you really have to bother me just about every time I post somewhere?
I realized I thought you were someone else. Apologies.
I mean that the guy has to have some dirt on the prosecutor or someone.
However that is probably not the case.
This is insane. Bigger crime you do, more likely you’ll be set free.
