Once is became apparent that the Jews who were taken weren't coming back, I'd like to think I would have at least tried to kill some high ranking nazi if I thought I was next. It's estimated that Hitler killed 6.3 millions Jews, but he also killed 4.6 million people of other groups too, many of them Christians like the nazi's claimed to be. Let's not forget them too.
Of course. But it's still hard to understand how Mahatma Gandhi's still sanctified as some paragon of virtue and righteousness, given what he condoned and actively incited.
He was not a perfect man, and I agree, it's confusing at times to understand his reasonings and methods at times.
i don't necessarily agree with it. he suggests that throwing themselves off a cliff would've gotten the world's attention but i don't know this to be true
but it makes sense that gandhi may feel this way since he was sort of in favor of suffering for advancement of a cause
If they had known they were going to the death camps, they should have taken some of the Nazis out. Yet the whole country was disarmed.
None of this discounts the atrocity that was committed even slightly. What was done was pure evil.

I'm guessing it's fake, but I'm not a Gandhi expert or lover XD
it is apparently true. as far as anyone can tell. if we can trust his biographer
@madhatters4 was that from the relatively controversial biography? I did a small google search and there seems to be some debate over it.
That said I don't know why Gandhi would be anti-semitic. I don't see any reason for an Indian who is pretty well known for preaching non-violence would hate the Jews. If this comment is true perhaps it was in the vein of radical understanding of Ahimsa to the point of self-sacrifice.
i know he was not really a proponent of the zionist movement OR at least he didn't sign on to be a supporter of the cause when asked but of course supported the jewish people and fair treatment.
yeah i don't know the merits on the source of the quote
@madhatters4 Meh. Life goes on.
Why should anyone let themselves die in hand of evil.
We all have one life in this world we should value each other life more then anything else what ever faith we are.
Its the most stupid quote he ever made.
You'd be surprised.
Zionist jews pretty much took over a lot of political and economocal power, and they misused it, so thats why many people were against them.
doesn't condone the mass murder of so many normal jews by any means though.
And he was definitely wrong with that being the greatest crime of "our " time.
Stalin amd mao were farther ahead.
Hitler came in at 3rd place, i domt see why he gets all the credit of being the big bad.
Because it was his ideology and motivation behind it.
@SirRexington as were stalin and mao with their ideologies and motivations.
Same thing, killed more people.
No. I hate Stalin and Moa, mostly because of their insult to Marx but to say their ideologies were similar in desired outcome is ludicrous.
@SirRexington extremist right wing vs extremist left wing. Different goals, but the outcomes were not. Not that different at all, its all fascism.
@SirRexington by the way, communism is a failure and marx was wrong.
Well communism I modern day has never happened or even really been tried. But paleo versions of it did exist for centuries. You can't say someone was wrong when there is no it say either way.
And I'm talking about desired outcome.
@SirRexington it has been happened and has been tried. And failed.
Russia was communist, soviet union was communist, eastern Europe was communist, china is communist.
Massive failures.
The best option you habe is china which is pretty much a communist dictatorship.
Its not possible to achieve the desired outcome because the ideology does not work with human nature.
Read the animal farm. It sums it up perfectly.
Did he really said that? I know the guy wasn't as clean as he's often portrayed but that seems a bit extreme.
Among other things, yes, he did.
He’s saying they should’ve committed suicide instead of being murdered. The thing is they weren’t told they were going to be murdered
Saying that "the Jews should have offered themselves to the butcher's knife", isn't exactly saying that they should've committed suicide though, is it? It's saying that they should've all either killed themselves, or willingly offered themselves up to be murdered...
I always thought the death camp were horrible inefficent you get a electric train and a tunnel full of nytrogen gas and self dumping cars and build 7 of those and you can get up to five hunderd million people per year year
There's power in numbers.
So, allegedly, Hitler killed six gorillion Jews.
But Emperor Hirohito killed who-knows-how-many Chinese.
So why are we not bringing that up every goddamn time?
Gorillion? And can constitutional monarchs/religious figureheads really be held responsible for their countries' actions? Because if so, how many people have the various Popes killed?
That's what I'm asking.
How many Desi people did the British kill?

Because the loss of non-white lives, on a global scale, carry far less emotional impact.
In a way, you could say their lives are valued less than those of whites.
I wish this were not true, but time and time again, when you see what sort of news gets disseminated to the global audience and which news "stick" in our mind, this pattern holds up.
What about the one where she inspires young Indian men to ask American women to send "bob and vagana" pics?
I like that quote the best.
They didn't cmmit massal suicide.
According to Gandhi, they should have though. Or offered themselves up to be killed in the gas chambers instead. Do you agree with him?
