As everyone knows Fathers day is coming up this weekend. Its a holiday that passes with very little fanfare and just seems like just another day to most. To lots of people on social media its something that should be banned.. Or you have single mothers that falsely believe they do it all on their own trying to say its their holiday too, when most of these mothers survive on state assistance, child support, food stamps, WIC and a myriad of cash assistance programs, which makes them by definition the opposite of doing it on their own.
I just lost my father in law, and when i see people saying stupid shit like ban fathers day, or trying to steal the holiday for their own (single mothers!!) when they have mothers day, Or some leftist mothers use it as a day to shame their sons and teach them about their so called privilege.. it shows me how much society hates men.. We dont do this to mothers on mothers day, we absolutely should not do this to fathers on fathers day.. Let fathers have their day.. Lets celebrate all of the kick ass dads out there, and let them have a break for once..

Why do so many people see fathers day as a bad thing, or try to hijack the holiday for their own purposes?
I always see fathers day is given where it is earned. See mums don't have much choice but to look after the kids and do everything for them. In most cases, mums are the first port of call. There are more absent fathers than mother. I am an SM and not one that survives off state benefit. I worked hard to get a good enough job so I didn't have to do it. Their father is completely absent therefore, we don't do fathers day. I don't whine and bitch about it either. I do, however, have a dad. He helps with the kids and both my parents help me provide for the kids. I earn enough to live off but they add the holidays, that random top I want, the gaming chair for my son or that t-shirt my daughter had to have. He gets 3 presents one from me and one each from the kids and we celebrate for him. But the real people that hold my family together is my mum and sister. On mothers day it is celebrated for me, my mum and sis. My sister can't have kids so borrows mine a lot there's no aunties day so she gets mothers day too!. I think fathers day should be celebrated where it is due.
That makes sense. My issue is more with mothers that want to be celebrated on a day for fathers, not about mothers that dont celebrate. Im glad your own father is very involved. Thats a good thing.. as far as mothers day, i feel the same about it, that you do about fathers day.. My mom chose drugs and multiple men over being a mother to me, so i spent most of my childhood moving from foster home to foster home. so i dont celebrate mothers day at all because my mother (whom i haven't spoken to in 20 years) doesn't deserve it.
How would you feel if you had children and their mother vanished off into a world of drugs though and you were left to provide for your kids (It's very hard by the way to do it all on your own) doing both mother and father role? You could either be bitter about mothers day or forget it exists and celebrate twice as big on fathers day. I don't really care for the day tbh but I always do something for my dad. Sorry you had to go through that.
oh i completely get that. Im not bitter, i just can't have her in my life.. She was unbelievably toxic to me. And we use to celebrate when my wife's mother was around, she was more a mother to me than my own. same with her father.. I never knew mine.
I love father's day... I don't let society sway me... I got my Dad the perfect gift... He hasn't been doing too good this year... He's a disabled veteran... So send prayers for him 🙏 He's fighting that battle that many don't see or understand...

I agree and think that, at least American society, hates men. They are often seen as little more than sperm donors and money producers. Too many time I overhear women talking that men are no good, and if they want a child, to visit a soerm bank in order to have "the best" and avoid "all the garbage." Others have an idea to have children and then divorce to the man will be forced to pay while the woman has custody.
I would normally say men aren't valued much, but it really seems to be actual disdain, malice, and hatred when it comes to acknowledging them in a positive way.
Consider that father's day gifts are junk like a tie, or some card with a fart joke in it. Look at television: men, and especially fathers, are depicted as bumbling, worthless, lascivious drunks, with the mother swooping in to save the day. This sort of media undermines perceptions of reality.
I love Fathers Day and am properly honored by my own family, but I know exactly what you're saying.
At many churches, on Mother's Day, women are told how important and special they are and men on Father's Day are told how they're messing up.
I let a former pastor know that I didn't appreciate that too much and to be fair, father's do need to do better, but on Father's Day, I'd rather hear encouragement rather than criticism.
I dont celebrate either. Im thankful they created me but i dont say it to either unless forced by another fam member. I also dont buy them anything unless they guiltrip me. My moms just put me through the ringer for the last 5 years and my dad left the picture at age 3 but would visit every 2 years or so. So i just dont feel that close to either anymore to celebrate. My grandparents were great grandparents to me but awful to my mom so i dont really congratulate them either. But we all may go to the casino for Fathers day so im lookin forward to that much
I can't understand why people want to hijack the day. Fathers exist and a lot do a great job. They deserve their dues. Us moms had our day and now it's time for the dads. I got my husband a brand new grill for his first fathers day ever and I can't wait to give it to him Sunday with some good steaks to grill!!
On one end I can understand a single parent who pulls the weight of both parents (assuming the other parent is completely out of the picture for one reason or another) wanting recognition but hijacking another parentās holiday is a little much. Instead of dwelling on not having a parent of that respective holiday they could show appreciation to the mother/father figures that are present in their lives instead of something.
He does! We havenāt gone in years though. We used to camp at an island and spend a day fishing off the pier there. Weāve been talking about going back one day.
Because children from broken homes are more likely to vote for bigger government, women who are single mothers are far more likely to vote for bigger government, they all tend towards the left which is why the left is the group that is trying to destroy traditional homes which are headed by a father, because they gain power from it.
