I am white, Mexican, and 12.5 percent black. I look Mexican. Don’t look black. You can still tell the difference, you know? So what do you mean in that sense? I’m a bit confused.
That past that they never went through still greatly effects them today, because what they are left with is a result of the past that their ancestors went through, and it’s shit.
I agree with you regarding poor people in general. It is more likely for black people to be poorer and live in the communities that they often times do, because of the effects that the past still has on them today. The conditions that white people a long time ago put black people a long time ago into. It’s a lot to research if you really want to go into depth. While it isn’t just black people, that plays a huge role to this day. You know? Also, that isn’t to say that white people today should need to apologize for something that they didn’t do themselves, and for something that black people today didn’t experience first hand, but more so just understand/face the facts of the matter and try to be as respectful as possible (which we should just do as human beings anyway).
That's a fair way to look at it, don't really disagree with you on a whole lot.
You seem like a genuinely good, reflective person rather than one of those social justice wackjobs.
I'm not entirely sure how black people could be helped at this point besides being treated like everyone else. Just got to make sure the social safety net is strong enough to catch the people who fall through the cracks I guess.
I don’t want to say it. I was just wondering in general, what percentage African American do people find acceptable in order to say the word. I don’t really identify with African American culture or struggles at all, so I don’t want to say the word. Let us not get this confused lol
Kid, you don't know anything about genetics. The mere fact that you believe something as arbitrary as race can be divided in such precise numbers proves that.
None of this makes any sense because there is no such thing as being 100% "black" or "white" or whatever. There is no racial "purity" to begin with. Race isn't a thing. Phenotypes are a thing. Culture is a thing.
Yes, but only of quantifiable things. Race isn't quantifiable, because race is a social construct. Race means a different thing to different people around the world and has meant different things throughout history. Its definitions are constantly changing. The idea of quantifying it with percentages is beyond absurd.

If you look black enough to have to face racism then it's a word you can reclaim.
That makes sense :) thank you!
I honestly think it’s bad to say no matter your race
It honestly depends on your skin color. If you are white then absolutely not. Any other form of shade would be fine.
I am white, Mexican, and 12.5 percent black. I look Mexican. Don’t look black. You can still tell the difference, you know? So what do you mean in that sense? I’m a bit confused.
If this word is so "offensive", how about NO ONE using it?
@Yaaten You and me are the only ones who suggested that!
You said "I feel like I’m not black enough to truly experience what black people go through".
Media got you brainswashed real good.
I'll say it whenever I want & there's nothing anyone can do to stop me.
Doesn’t answer my question. I mean without being disrespectful about people’s history.
I am sick to death of "POC" bringing up a past they never went through.
It's so assine, I am DONE with the excuses.
That past that they never went through still greatly effects them today, because what they are left with is a result of the past that their ancestors went through, and it’s shit.
Try telling that to poor white people living in trailer parks.
It's the poor that is being disenfranchised, not just black people.
I will 100% admit that the police are very biased against black people though.

Anyone can say "bigger", the question of skin color determines of you will be attacked for it or not. Lose your job or not. Go to jail or not.
Thanks autocorrect... "n**" not "bigger".
Wow, GAG won't post "n**", it stars it out. What a bunch of twisted panties.
Sksmdnmwmwmw
You gotta ask Chris Rock - he's the expert on who is and who isn't "black enough". :)
Nobody should say it, doesn't matter how black you look
I wonder what color code that would be.
What do you mean?
To be on the safe side, maybe just don’t?
I wasn’t planning on saying it. I don’t feel like I should. I was just asking in general, what percentage black do people think it’s okay to say it?
Careful or you'll get labelled a whigger.
I’m white, Mexican, and 12.5 percent black. I look Mexican lmao, I don’t think anyone would guess that I’m white at all. But what’s Mexican and black?
Is that a sambo?
Sambo? I have never heard that 😂. For Mexican and black?
I’m actually 62.5 percent white, 25 percent Mexican, and 12.5 percent black. I just LOOK Mexican. No one would guess that I’m white or black lmao.
We say it all the time over here 🤷♀️
I don't have an urge to say it. Why do you?
I don’t want to say it. I was just wondering in general, what percentage African American do people find acceptable in order to say the word. I don’t really identify with African American culture or struggles at all, so I don’t want to say the word. Let us not get this confused lol
All you need is a drop.
12.5% black? lol
Yeah. My dad is a quarter black, my grandpa half black, my great grandpa fully black. That is how genetics work.
Kid, you don't know anything about genetics. The mere fact that you believe something as arbitrary as race can be divided in such precise numbers proves that.
This is an estimate. Am I 12.5 percent? Maybe not exactly, but close to it. Is my dad 25% because his dad is 50%? Maybe not, but close to it.
None of this makes any sense because there is no such thing as being 100% "black" or "white" or whatever. There is no racial "purity" to begin with. Race isn't a thing. Phenotypes are a thing. Culture is a thing.
But people are percentages of certain things regardless of culture?
Yes, but only of quantifiable things. Race isn't quantifiable, because race is a social construct. Race means a different thing to different people around the world and has meant different things throughout history. Its definitions are constantly changing. The idea of quantifying it with percentages is beyond absurd.

Just a racist bigot.
? What
You don't have to be black; you just have to be a racist bigot.
So black people who say the n word are racist bigots?
Yes, using a racial epithet is a good way to let people know of your racist views.
I doubt African Americans are saying the n word with the intention of being racist toward themselves :S
Why not there are plenty of self hating white people? How else would you get a white person to write a book like White Fragility?
Lol u can
