"too much money" is not a sin.
Having that money run your life - now THAT is the sin!
The WORSHIP of money - THAT is the sin,
The Bible is often misquoted at this point, and it’s important to see exactly what it says (and what it doesn’t say). The Bible does NOT say that money is the source of ALL evil—but it DOES say that money can become a source of evil when we misuse it and make it the OBJECT OF OUR LOVE. The exact quotation is found in 1 Timothy 6:10: “For the LOVE of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
Money can accomplish great good when it’s used wisely and compassionately. And this is exactly what the Bible commands us to do. Instead of letting it become a source of pride, we should realize that everything we have comes ultimately from God, and He wants us to be faithful stewards of the resources He gives us. The Bible repeatedly warns us against the dangers of greed and covetousness. Surely the most tragic person who ever lived was Judas, who was blinded by greed and betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver.

I don’t believe in sin but I do believe in too much money and greed. There should be no such thing as billionaires. Multi millionaires are okay but after a certain point just work for free or dont work at all. Once you have made it When it’s guaranteed you never have to worry about a single thing (under the condition that you’re not a moron with finances and spending) the rest can be redistributed to folks who actually need it. Some little boy is being tossed out of his home for being gay. Some girl is scraping by because her parents are shit and can’t take care of her properly. Some guy lost his job and turned to crack. Some vet got injured and can’t get proper help. Too many People have legitimate problems for one person to have 50+ million sitting in their vault while they have a 15+ million dollar home with all this unnecessarily overpriced art and furniture spending their leisure nights on Gucci and private islands.
It’s evil if you exploit people to make it, to paying them below a living wage as only one example. Plus I definitely think it’s pretty sinful if you horde it among your family and not give back, that’s part of the reason the church asks you to tithe a % not an amount. It’s also sinful if you look down on people who do not make as much.

No, not at all. There's no such thing as too much money. There's definitely such thing as too little though.
Where people get all messed up with money is the obsession with it. Money is a tool to get the things you want, food. power, security, true freedom. When you chase money only to chase money is when it messes with your head and how you view other people. As long as you keep that perspective that it is only a lever, the fulcrum is your problem, and you apply the force, you're all gravy.
It's a tool like any other, amass enough money and weapons are powerless against it, fail to reach that threshold and chasing only money without that objectivity will leave you like Kuwait. The Bible never says having money is a sin. Money is a necessary tool to survive in life.
Being greedy with the money is the sin because greed in general is a sin. Having money can lead one to sin if they value the money to the point where they become numb to the pain around them and do not help others. For example, if you are a millionaire, how much harm would it do to give a dollar or two to someone who is having bad luck and needs food. $2 would not harm a millionaire, but to someone who is between jobs it could mean a small source of food. God tells us to take care of ourselves and use common sense, but he also commands us to be generous to those less fortunate so that they may see his love through us. By hoarding the $2, you may miss the chance to help someone who really needs just that one spark of hope to turn their life around.I feel this video provides a pretty good viewpoint on it. It all depends on what you use it for. As the video says, if you only use it for personal consumption, then yes... it likely may be a problem. However "The more money you have, the more good you can do"
https://www.youtube.com/embed/WexoH47w_bQI don't agree with all of his stuff, but he does make some good points more often than not. Definitely agree that you need to get your own house in order before spending/giving too much. If you help others before you help yourself, you both struggle. If you help yourself first, then you are in a better position to more often help others.
I bet those, who say and believe, that wanting to make a lot of money and that it is evil feel that they need to justify their mere existence here. That is below zero self esteem.
They are free to move to a poor Indian village, where nobody of their 10.000 population has a spare dollar and enjoy the "benefits" of living without any money. Hope they like freezing winters, being grilled by the sun, roaches, the smell of excrement in the air, dirty water, medical conditions being left untreated and maybe also forcing their poor daughters to marry rich against their own will.I do believe that everyone is broke, just at different levels. A wealthy man, who is broke and needs more money, is no different than a poor man, who is broke and needs more money.
When you say "love of money" are you eluding that we should only love God? If so, then there are a lot of people who are living in sin, regardless if they love money or not.Bankers are jobs too. Dont know I am not leftist but I think richers know itself better how to deal with it. leftist who I saw they become to know how to deal with it.
that is why I dont trust leftists cause they only see things in front of them dont know their head is turning.there's a point where i feel people should start giving back. they don't need the money anymore and it's mostly the people below them that are greedy. people shouldn't be given the power to give themselves a raise in pay
No in the Bible God blessed multiple people with riches.. Job, Solomon, Ester (in a way), Israel as a whole.. He wants people to be blessed, and even have money.. It's when we put so much stock and all our trust in that money, and when we do crooked things to get more money i. e greed.. But, if a person was just working hard, had a good idea, and got rich in the process.. That's not sin at all..
Having money and loving it are not mutually inclusive, though they are correlated. I think (biblically) that when money gets in the way of the first two commandments, it becomes an issue. If it doesn't, then it's probably a good thing
When you have a lot of money, that doesn't necessarily mean you are greedy. Some millionairs will be greed or even stingy, but not all of them. The only way it becomes a sin is the way how to use your money. If you use your money pr bad purposes, then it would be a sin.
of course not, money is a measure of how much we have done for society. all these little bitch communists whining about bezos would be lost without amazon. people are just jealous of the rich and greedy for what they have. but the rich DID more and that means they deserve more.
and for anyone saying "oh what about people born rich" well you might be surprised to learn people born rich rarely stay rich. 15% of americans will be in the top 1% at some point in their livesthe love of money is the root of all evil but too much money is not sin.
Solomon in the bible had a lot of money.Having too much money is like having too much fat. It’s not good for you. Lose some of that fat. Aka give it away to people who need money but don’t have the same ability to attain it. That’s called looking out for others
If you don't use your money to help others in society, then yes.
Jesus said: "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." - Matthew 19:24, New International Version.I hate money hoarders. Its one thing if its for your retirement and kids/grandkids. But its another to be on your 5th Yacht while ignoring the plights of others. Especially children, elderly, and animals.
99.99% of people will never face the "too much money" problem. The problems begin when the top 0.01% use their wealth and power to screw over the rest of us. But the average person can only benefit from earning more money.
Only poor people say this. If you understand how money works you know that you give equal amount of service for those millions. Ain't like people just holding up all the money. You can get rich too if you just get off your ass and stop being scared. Money is not competitive, it is creative.
Not at all. The Bible says that god wants you to bear fruit. The lack of money is what I’d consider to be the root of all evil. It can tear up relationships, marriages, family, and cause people to do heinous things out of desperation
There's a difference between wanting to earn money and valuing money above all else.
In the modern world, wanting money isn't bad, you need it, lots of it to be comfortable.
It's only bad when you start becoming obsessed and immoral over it.Yes. But only if you spend it on Adrenochrome. :)
