This shows a video from Turkey where a man stabbed his estranged wife to death after seeing her with another man and the bystanders simply stand there and watch. It's horrible to me to see that not a single person even thought about stepping in as the woman screamed as he mercilessly stabbed her until he was satisfied with what he did. Needless to say, she didn't make it out of this alive. If I'd seen that, I would've shot the man immediately rather than going hands on which yields an extremely slim chance of success compared to using my firearm (even the master level trainers in empty handed fighting will have, at the very most, a 20% chance of getting control of the knife before he stabs them multiple times). I certainly couldn't just watch a cold blooded, brutal murder happen like that as I'd be hearing her screams and cries, and seeing the knife go into her every day of my life and have her screams forever haunt me knowing I could've stopped him but didn't. I believe us men have a duty to protect the vulnerable and stop evil people like him because the world is full of good people, only a handful are evil and wicked, but all the wicked needs to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing when they attack, and this video is a prime example of exactly that. Would you step in as a good Samaritan if you saw something like this happening?

I was walking around the city early one morning. There was a smartly dressed, very attractive blonde woman walking in front of me with a rough looking guy in jeans. She was berating him, calling him stupid and a moron and yelling at him I just could not look away. Then I figured she was taking it too far and she was going to get a knuckle sandwich. It was then I realized I might have to get involved and started thinking about what I would do. I decided that I would let the guy get in one good shot to her because she was very abusive to him and then I would stop it. When she turned around I saw that she was a popular news anchors on one of th local TV channels. The guy must have been working for her but she really was a b***h.

Easily could’ve jumped on that dude’s back and started choking him out, he totally gave his back up to anyone who wanted to take it, and with help from the others, they can grab his arms with minimal casualties. Then just kick him in the head til he starts involuntarily dancing lmao. I don’t know much about Turkey but I’ve heard some things that lead me to believe female life isn’t regarded as highly over there, so maybe that’s the reason for the inaction of the bystanders.

But yeah, I couldn’t just stand there and watch someone get stabbed, fuck that. Gotta at least try to take him out.

Unfortunately someone who steps in and tries to help is often a victim their self. I recall a girl who tried to get between 2 fighting family members and was stabbed and killed as a result. If you had a gun you might but she was probably already dead by that time or would die soon after from bleeding out. I'd like to know what happened to the killer in the end,

I study self defense cases and while it's true that the good Samaritan dies a lot more often than the original victim, the perpetrator is at the biggest risk of death and the most likely outcome being the perpetrator is unharmed and held at gunpoint for police, the original victim injured, and the good Samaritan unharmed.

Well being it was in Turkey the man probably had the right to do this to his wife. She probably is seen as a whore and would have brought shame to the family in their eyes.

I acknowledge the hyperbole here, but he was charged and reportedly convicted, but his sentence was reportedly 20 years. Which is unacceptable as he'd at a minimum get a life sentence without the possibility of parole or the death penalty here, and that's if his death penalty was expedited by a man who steps in and stops him. I can certainly see why feminism is very much a thing in Turkey because this is far from the only instance where this happened and according to a friend I have in Turkey, it's a crime to date a woman when you're a woman😡

I would have gone after him the moment he lifted his hand to try to strike her. I wouldn't have offered him a fight or given a verbal warning, I don't do that because the guy might be armed or something. You offer him a fight, he pulls a knife, you're fucked. It's better to hit them before they realise you two are fighting. I'd sucker punch him and not give him the chance to fight back in the first place. Overwhelm him, switch his mindset from predator to prey, focused on trying to defend himself while his head is spinning and shots are raining down on him.

If somehow it got beyond that point I'd find something big and heavy to bash him over the head with, or something sharp to stab him in the throat.

I have trained for 11 years in martial arts (the training was great) but you are right, even a master of empty handed fighting is likely going to get killed by someone with a knife if that person with a knife does not overextend like an idiot.

I was trained in the disarmament of firearms and knives but it is a very risky proposition only to be done as a last resort.

I don't carry firearms so I would not get near the guy with a knife. I would run and call the cops, but the lady would probably die. It really wouldn't help her if I died with her though.

What happens between him and his wife is his and her business, she cheated or whatever it was they both made life decisions that lead them to this point and no one has the right to interfere without any context. Maybe she was a degenerate who kidnapped their kids and and threatening to kill them (not likely sure but still it's an option) so before I go shooting someone unprovoked I'd wanna know what's what.

I want to point out that if in his rage he started rampaging and attacked me I'd pop him in a heartbeat but that would be a different story

Yes, to stop evil from prevailing, you must, uhhhhhh... stop the evil actor by any means possible. We have a duty as men to defend the vulnerable, when we stand by when we are called on, evil like that will prevail and only get more common.

What happened to evil begets evil? Killing him is also an evil act and could spark a retaliation from his family onto me and mine and so one heroic act would have put so many lives at risk and bread way more evil than it's worth.

It is very easy to say, what would you do, because it is just words. But reality is much more complicated, and also... reality in Turkey, or Syria... Australia, the USA, Canada, North Korea, Mexico... Saudi Arabia, they're all different, and there's also all kinds and levels of evil.

Then use an environmental weapon like a chair, a pen, a fire extinguisher as a bludgeoning tool, pepper spray him and get the knife from him while he's disoriented. They had options here and what's even more sad is that guys just looked at her and walked right past her after he left as she was taking her last breath. Evil prevails when good men do nothing when they see it

A stout chair would probably do it if you were strong enough to wield it. You'd have to get in front of him to use pepper spray, which would probably involve getting stabbed. I agree someone should at least call an ambulance/the cops.

@Rangers even more so there's easy 3-5 guys there and no way even with a knife is one guy going to kill all of them at most if they just rush and held him down there's going to be a couple slashes that would be possibly painful but unlikely deadly. This was a totally fucked up scenario but just shows the culture that says a woman and her life have a very low value. A woman is not a full human being to these guys.

It is legal to use deadly force as a good Samaritan against someone who is trying to kill someone else and good luck finding a jury, judge, and a society in Texas that won't make life a living hell for the prosecutor for trying to charge a man who saved a woman's life from a monster. Even after all that, good luck winning the case as I know outstanding lawyers and I'm not to shabby myself
