Globalization is in relation to how interconnected people around the world have become due to ease of travel and the internet. We're increasingly becoming a single society not divided by nation. As a result, cultures are meshing, corporations are considered global markets rather than an individual market (like the American market), etc.
Most arguments against globalization is the "destruction of culture or putting our own nation behind others." Most arguments for globalization is "It just makes sense. It brings more money, meets the needs of more people, and who gives a shit about mixing races? We're all human. Stop being racist."
It's not a debate and it's usually racists or bigots that argue over it's meaning and use.
The world is an increasing interconnected place. It's becoming largely meaningless to talk about nationalities, races, and individuals as a result. This puts a lot of small minded dickheads on edge. Mainly as their whole personality is tied to their "patriotism" or their belief in "race".
Weird because in the world we are seeing more and more the return of nationalism

Globalization is a very simple thing, it is the international trade.
Modern concepts of globalization are controversial because they focus on the many negative effects they bring while we also enjoy the benefits of it.
The best example of this are our smartphones, most of us will use them, and need them and we have them. And most of our phones are sold by companies based on the richer countries,, while the actual phones (or their components) are made on other countries where explotaiton can easily happen. (and it can get more complex than that)
So, globalization, the international trade, is just another thing that the richer have controlled to get richer, while the poor get poorer.
It is when the whole world is connected for trade, commerce and other endeavors. It generally ships jobs to places where cheap labor is plentiful and corporations and politicians benefit at the expense of higher paid workers.
For China it was indeed a boon. For the US it was a disaster.
Whatever it means, every time you hear someone speaking about it notice that these people apply it only on white people and their countries. They will tell you that Europe must have open borders and that the extinction of our people through unlimited mass immigration and race mixing is something cool, humanitarian and necessary. But they will never apply the same standard on the rest of the world. Everyone else deserves to exist and preserve themselves.
It means that you make (additional) money outside of your home 'country'.
Usually, it's a euphemism that describes excessive corporate greed.
Globalization refers to making a particular aspect of society apply or participate internationally. It has largely replaced "international" as a descriptive in many contexts.
Honestly I don’t know. Bare bones: nations/corporations trading globally. Which has been happening for centuries.
Yes exactly, that's why I have trouble with this definition of globalization, after some say that it is the exploitation of workers in poor countries for the benefit of rich countries, but that too has always existed, at least since colonization and cheap labor represented by slaves, besides slavery has existed since antiquity so also nothing new
I am not against world trade, but I am against the relocation of companies, which cause people to lose jobs and which will take advantage of third world countries to take advantage of very low production costs.
It's mainly xenophobes and conservatives who hate globalization because they're racist and f@ggy.
It could refer to growing interdependence of systems, global connectivity, and centralization of powers.
