I stumbled upon a NYT article (a ridiculous one, I might add) about neopronouns. It says:
”A neopronoun can be a word a created to serve as pronoun without expressing gender, like ze and zir. It can also be a noun-self pronoun, like bun/bunself and kitten/kittenself. Others refer to fantasy characters — vamp/vampself or fae/faer/faeself”.
The list goes on. To me, promoting such ideas seems dangerous. They encourage delusion, confusion and narcissism. They also defeat the point of using pronouns. I understand why a minority of people would like to be called as ”they” or ”them”, but asking to be referred as ”cloudself” or ”bookself”, as if that's part of your GENDER IDENTITY, seems abnormal.So, have you ever came across someone using a neopronoun? Is this a REAL thing? Are these teenagers targeted by someone trying to push an agenda?
Do you know what neopronouns are? Have you ever met someone who uses them?
At work, I noticed one person including their preferred pronouns in their email signature block, so I searched my entire mail to see if anyone else was doing that. So far, no. He is the only one and his were traditional: he, him, his.
The NY Times is a leftist rag. It has always been that way but in the last year it has gone to extremes to signal its virtue. It has hired extreme leftists to write outrageous editorials. I think that they are trying to stay relevant in a world which clearly doesn't need a newspaper company. I would be supportive if they were centered in their reporting and opinions but as it is they are just in business to support the Democrat money machine
Meah don't really hurt anyone so i am not concerned plus 100% betting these are actually more like pet names. Like oh cute and trendy shit. Not i actually believe i am a book.
However i would never call them it. The difference to why i wouldn't is cause it's like Goth kids compared to Vamp kids. One is cool and makes sense, the other is weirdo's trying to be trendy.
