If you could time travel, would you save George Floyd?

I honestly would. I don't think that George Floyd was a good person at all, but I'd save him just to avoid the chaos and division that his death has brought. So many buildings destroyed, cities burned, people assaulted and killed over the death of just one person. If I had a time machine I'd go back and either give Floyd a real $20 bill to use, warn him that the cops are coming so he can leave before it happens, hell I'd even go as far as running up to the cop and Sparta kicking him off of Floyd. The hell that this incident has put us through was not at all worth it.

The fallout from George Floyds death was inevitable. If it wasn't him, it would have been someone else. Racial tensions had been growing for decades and it was only a matter of time before it came to a head. And it's not going away.

I would not save Floyd. He was a criminal resisting arrest. However, I would go far enough back in time to prevent Chauvin from getting to the scene. I would have someone inflict a significant (though not major) injury and run straight to Chauvin. As an officer seeing my injury, I'd tell him I was assaulted by someone so I could distract him from the Floyd call. When an officer sees an injury, they are trained to handle the injured person, even if they are on their way to a call.

Here’s what I don’t get; how would anyone save the guy, besides making sure he never got addicted to pain meds? Based on everything I’ve seen of the case, it’s not clear that the Chauvin’s behavior killed the guy at all. The only thing that is clear is that Floyd was one unfortunate victim of the opioid crisis.

I've thought a lot about the concept of living in an afterlife (where everything is imaginary) where I could travel back in time, and kill various people (peacefully in their sleep) for various reasons. But I don't think that killing the cop who killed Floyd would necessarily be on my "to-do" list

Chauvin was authorized in that situation to use more force than he ended up using, and Floyd had actually requested to be placed on the ground. He was having trouble breathing in the cop car. I guess I just don't see Floyd's death as Chauvin's fault. At least not clearly Chauvin's fault.

Because if you read what it actually says, you'll see that there is very reasonable doubt about Chauvin's responsibility in Floyd's death. So to get back to the point of OP's question; how could we go back in time to correct anything, if we don't actually know what killed George Floyd?
