Yes I think it's absolutely true and it's very insightful of you to recognize that. The only thing I would add is that the real function of the Armed Forces seems to be to consume military supplies so that defense contractors will be needed to produce more military supplies that's increasing their profits. The amount of money that the United States spends on Military supplies is absolutely obscene especially when you consider that many of the wars if not all of them since World War II have been completely unnecessary and have been instigated deliberately by the US. It is also worth noting that despite the large amount of military supplies that are consumed by the Armed Forces every single War since World War II has been lost by the US after prolonged fighting and the consumption of huge amounts of money.
We may have lost those wars, but our goal was to majority help stop the spread of communism. Whe succeeded in some places and because of that those places thrive and are First World countries because of it. Then there are small Countries that we are Allies with that a extremely happy we are the only Super Power (ex. Estonia 🇪🇪). Because of the USA our presence there has kept them at bay and Estonia's economy is growing and quality of life is increasing because they are no longer forced to be a Communist Nation. Other examples of success is Berlin and South Korea
Maybe but to maintain a large empire and dominate your neighbours you need a large military.
We don't dominate neighbours, compared to past "empires" which we are not. We don't force our ideas on others, unlike European countries in the past and the rest of the world.
@berserk945 yes be sure to tell the North Koreans how the US "won". That will be news to them. The Berlin wall was removed for financial reasons; the military was not involved. There was no US military activity in Estonia.
So much for your examples of winning.
@berserk945 technically the North Koreans were soundly beat but the chinese had other ideas.
And we succeeded in keeping South Korea a capitalist country
Tell that to the Estonians, or any other country free from commmunist or socialist rule
@berserk945 yeah good work done by the United nations army.
@berserk945 yeah they are greatful for the us military chasing the Red Army out of their country and not just sitting on the boarder
I specifically know someone In Estonia thats was a soldier and he as happy that we have a post there. I do think we should send them a tank so they have their own. He is like even an old WWII he be happy with lol
@berserk945 Instead of tanks, we'll send them trans kids, critical race theory and the most expensive healthcare system in the worls. Let's see if those outdated Estonians will keep loving us...
Na, i want to stay allies lol
@berserk945 Our government begs to differ... The elites in this country want the entire world to look like this retarded society we have at home, and that's the reason why people all across the world hate America.
Yet we have the most people immigrating here out of every other Nation
@berserk945 They want our money, not our "values." By the way, we sell them the "American Dream" and its false idea that we live in a country that's free and blessed by prosperity, some people end up believing that crap, why are you surprised?
Because we are the most prosperous country.
@NotARobberYet
What happened to the American Dream?
It came true, you're looking at it.
@berserk945 So why do we have so much social inequality in this country? Why is raising kids so expensive these days? Why have our families become so broken?
Such a prosperous country...
Inequality? What Inequality? Families are broken because of our modern societies push to absolve the nuclear family.
It's not just about military presence. A lot of our control and influence is done "hands free" by providing financial and logistical support to key players. Famous examples would be Saddam Hussein, Iran Contra affair, or our involvement in Nicaragua. We have the tactics of sticking our fingers in and stirring the pot whenever a small country looks like it might stabilize enough to become a potential threat. By keeping the third world fighting amongst itself, we maintain dominance.
It's pretty fucked up to create miserable situations for other people who are trying to stabilize their countries, but it's what we do. We also only pick on little countries that we know can't fuck with us back. Libya, Nicaragua, Palestine, Kuwait, Kosovo, Iran, etc.
Kosovo has a population of 1.8 million. We have individual cities with larger populations.
I'm not a political expert, but I highly suggest checking out a book or two by Noam Chomsky, who illustrates US involvement globally with verifiable historic events. It's a pretty incredible picture once you get a glimpse of it.
Not to say we don't have a huge military, we do. And we have insane practices like paying exorbitant amounts for cheap items like a wrench.

The "MID" doesn't have as much direct pull over the US military as a lot of people think it does; the reality is that they can easily get contracts with or without a war going on. The other reality is that it's not uncommon at all for more important projects and better equipment to get sidelined in favor of frivolous or unnecessary crap just so a senator or representative can "bring new jobs" to their district. A specific example of this that directly affected my own time in service was a few years ago near the end of Obama's presidency in which the military as a whole wanted more funds directed towards drone and counter-drone equipment, but the government instead bought more tanks and tank parts with that money, and also moved the contract to a different company/factory for entirely selfish political gains. As a result, we ended up having to improvise counter-drone equipment anyway while the tank companies didn't even bring their tanks into the AO. That's only the tip of the iceberg; this sort of thing is extremely commonplace, and I also saw it firsthand with some communications systems we were testing out that were getting forced on us. To their credit, the contractors who we worked with were trying their best to make everything work, but it was obvious they were frustrated with the conflict of interests between the MID, the government/pentagon, and the troops actually fighting overseas.
The United States is a decentralized oligarchy that runs a fiscal empire. Having a huge military is not an end to itself or the source of its wealth. The reserve currency (dollar) is, and the huge military is used to force the world to denominate most of its trade, especially that of oil, in dollars. This has allowed the US to export the consequences of inflation and use sanctions as a weapon against its opponents. If a country attempts to sell oil for something other than dollars, the US “brings them democracy,” “color revolutions,” etc. As the dollar becomes more debased, the more aggressive the US needs to be. Nothing lasts forever and this will be no exception.
Hey Kim Jung Un! Rocketman! Calm down buddy. The US is the reason you have this website. You're more than free to go back to the "Pyongyang net" or some shit if you hate us so much. LOL. Maybe Iran can help you with your boredom? Give ya some rockets to play with? :D
Agreed. The nszis say the same about the autobahn
@123lucy It was research and development in the US and helped out by UK and France. But don't change subjects, I said this website, not the WWW and also, its besides the point for Mr. Rocketman. I don't expect a big dumb guy who pouts about America from his North Korean ski resort or beach house built on the backs of his own people.
(I don't know how to @ the opinion holder so pretend I did that here) You're talking about the internet, not the world wide web.
"I said this website, not the WWW" - You said *web*site, so I presumed you were talking about the *web*.
And yeah I know this is pointless I just like pointing out when people mix up the internet and the www and who created which.
Gold backed the dollar until 1971. Then oil backed he Dollar until the last couple of years. Now it is the US Armed Forces hat backs the dollar. We are now a socialist/cause oriented/debt economy. Supply and demand free market system has been replace by artificially priced markets.
Not run by Oligarchs.
As you know , the Military is in control of our country , along with President Trump..
He’s been busy taking down the DeepState and dealing with the Pedophiles. We recently flooded the tunnels under DC, to eliminate the satanic rats. The White House is shut down. New monitory systems are in place. We are free once again!
The USA is a criminal corporation, anyone who says otherwise is just delusional.
Yes... but it’s not an illuminati conspiracy. It literally is foundational problems with out politics. We allow legal bribes via Super PACs to politicians.
The US economy is not at all that reliant on the military industry, so nope
Put it like this. The daily flows of capital from international trade in dollars is like 5 times higher than the entire annual military budget
And what role does the US military play in this international trade?
@Gespenster_division
Relatively small. Arms deals simply aren’t that large. Plus, by far most maritime commerce is from areas that are not an active warzonr and most of these international flows is simply digital financial flows.
The bulk of the US economy is domestic services, especially financial, and production of goods, most of which has basically no relation with the US military itself.
How did the British Empire secure its place as the dominant world power from 1780-1900. With a large military.
The US military secures the US empire, secures US trade etc
So you think like the EU and the Chinese solely trade with the USA due to the threat of its military power? Not the good services, large ampunt of production, stable currency, good institutions or anything like that?
The idea that the military keeps the US economy running just does not align with where the economic activity in the USA is derived from
It doesn't keep it running, it keeps us interests abroad secure incase like some democratically elected leader decides the people should benefit from their nation's resources.
I don't think so but I would say that most wealthy people might be incorporating something like that too protect them in their assets
No United States is a coward little bitch of a country scared of Iranian missiles. "American Empire" next joke please. No one gives a shit about America. Everyone's after china now. That's another shit stain on the planet like America.
we have the largest military ever more than all combined. some would say world dominance is the task
So why haven't we done that then? Hard to claim we are looking for world domination when we don't conquer other nations, put their people in charge, fund their nation and all the groups that protect those nations. The US isn't perfect, but claiming we are trying to control the world or we are creating an empire doesn't know what either of those things are nor do they know anything about what the US is doing.
Yeah, they are called DEMOCRATS. Just kidding... It’s them AND the Republicans. Mostly Democrats though.
Ever since Citizens United was approved by the Supreme Court, American has steadily headed away from democracy, toward an oligarchy.
A military state? Why that implies dictatorship. Of course not
