I voted C, I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I know what I want to do with it. However I'm not entirely sure what my future will potentially hold, I'm always trying to stay optimistic and looking for new opportunities to help others as much as I can.

I think the purpose in life is to have no purpose. That's selfishly motivated and I've experienced anything I'm selfishly trying to achieve has made life unhappy and meaningless. That mindset is the fastest way to make sure you aren't really living.

You hear it's about the little things in life.. so when you focus on a purpose, you set yourself up for failure for actually living. Which in my opinion is what life is all about. I live for life. That includes everyone and myself. I'm not saying having a purpose in life is bad but to me it's just not worth wasting years of my life focused on one aspect of what life really has to offer.

i get what you're saying. some people feel freedom not having a purpose. For me though i think mine is basically just --empathy-- trying to bring more of it in the world. its kinda guided most of my actions lately

That's honestly part of what I was saying when I said I live for life which includes everyone and myself. Like all of our interactions and connections with others who are also living life. It's all what life is about.

I get that impression from you by the way. I can tell that you have a lot of empathy for others.

Yeah it took me quite awhile to find it. The process was pretty painful and exhausting getting here. But i am now ever grateful for where i am now mentally.

Im happy others like yourself are getting that, makes it ferl more real for me.

Yes I did, many years ago, which is why I'm still here...

and it was very simple, to make others happy while I can, when I can.. is what makes me, really happy

and it took great great losses, for me to realize this in a very real way, not in the way in which you just say it and make it a goal, but a way in which I could actually feel it withing me as a motor that keeps me going, and not as a goal I strive towards to, that made a big difference in my life... to live for the journey and not the destination, that brought balance to my life and to my person, and then, great stuff started to happen in my life... and we're still here, for now anyway.

Never looked for one in the first place. I just do what i like. I find the ideology of purpose kinda the same as the ideology as god has a plan for you. Which obviously i don't believe in that ideology. Life don't really have a purpose so just live doing what you want. There is no real purpose behind someone's life.
Of course it depends how literal of the term Purpose is used. We are not in an anime story sadly with a great purpose to carry out been a plot for a story lol.

I believe so. "Purpose" is a strong word though, like "destiny", and I would generally refrain from using it.

I'd say I carved myself out of a very comfortable niche with a combination of luck, self-discovery, work, and meeting some very nice people (like my now-wife).

There might have been alternative paths that would have been just as suitable for me as my current one, but my current one fits me very well.

It's like I don't know if I was destined to do what I did/do now, but I can say it suits me very well. It seems tailor-made for me and fits extremely well.

I also have zero regrets. It's not that I didn't make mistakes along the way, but it's like I would never want to alter history since I'm so content with the present. The mistakes were a part of getting me to where I am now. I think it's people who have regrets that haven't found something that fits well for them just yet.

I just started a new career. I just got my last kid through college, we are getting to the other side of the pandemic., I have begun teaching computer science and i am waiting to see what happens next.

I didn't not want to have kids but after I did I was glad it all worked out the way it did.

yes, you are right with that. I was pretty ambivalent about it. I knew people that decided not to have kids and they spent their time travelling or driving expensive cars and the like. I could have easily done that but I look at my kids and how well they turned out and I am glad we had them.
