It's just because that's how nature typically works, but being human gives us the freedom to not necessarily conform to nature. You have the choice.
Don't listen to your mom she doesn't gives a shit about your happiness. She only cares about family tradition.
Go be independent because men are just pigs who only want sex. After using you they will dump you.
Society views…. I told my boyfriend that’s not going to work for me since he brought up kids and thought I would give my career up and stay home in the future …. not over here.

Many Western women are told they can do anything, be anything, do it all themselves, and have it all.
Motherhood is looked down upon. Despite many of them deciding to become mothers and finding out what compromise means.
I feel like they aren't. I feel like people are encouraged to get careers cause they are scared of running out of money or being in low pad profession. I guess it depends where you are?
Not sure where you're from but in North America they aren't. Maybe it's a family thing but not a society thing and therefore if your case is a family thing, you should ask your family why they feel the need to pressure you into having kids.
I'm not sure where you live, but that's not really the way things work in the U. S. anymore. By the way, your moms being selfish, and it's not her life. It's sad that you grew up in a Toxic Environment where you now fear men. All guys aren't abusers

I definitely agree. I dont get how women think that a job is better than having a child. In 100s years when you die the job you had won't be here and won't matter to anyone but the kids and family you created will still be be here changing the world for the better.
@Apple1996 your boss will have his secretary send a flower arrangement to your home and you'll be replaced in 2 weeks at your job... and blamed for everything that goes wrong for the next year, lol.

@On_cloud_wine I feel it is more fulfilling than being a corporate drone. It's not a coincidence women's dissatisfaction and anti-depressant rates have gone sky high since being mothers and providing for a family has been actively discouraged as a poor choice for women.
Well not having a kid is a. choice. I guess to you and the world it's a goal for me... which is weird but ok... if I have one I have one... if I don't I dont... but my goal as a child was to have a career and travel the world. I can die happy and satisfied since I've accomplished that goal.
Mean while. my career will always be here and I'll be taking care, improving, and proving services to y'all kids

@joeldalton I see where you’re coming from, there’s a mother in my local area that post ISO a full time nanny for 3 of her children because she works 5 days a wk but I guess if a women who wants kids and wants to work will just have to find a solution like hiring a nanny
So how would u imagine a better ending for u? Do u consider that there is a way for life to not be boring? As for me I believe boredom is something that we make ourselves , if u want a happy marriage try to have one, if u want a happy single life try to have that , nobody is stopping you physically just probably your guilt for your mom who still worked hard to raise u,
Not all men are abusive, there are nice guys like me around, But more women these days don't want children because it's too much to worry about in today's world.
