Not at all. Safety and freedom are in many ways objective terms. I might view safety as the ability to defend myself using my right (freedom) to own a firearm, and you might view safety as the right (freedom) to ban firearms in your place of business. What makes you feel safe may not necessarily make me feel safe and vice versa. It’s an interesting query.

I know right? Very American dichotomy. Especially when it comes to the right wing excusing the abuses of the so called 'private' sector.

"Oh this isn't Tyranny! It's in the 'private' sector! Facebook is a 'private' little lemonade stand. Amazon is a 'private' little craft project out of someone's 'private' living room. It's only when something becomes 'public' that it becomes over control. So long as it's 'private' it's liberty. "

Here is a recent example of this. How do you balance personal freedom and public health? Someone does not want to get what they perceive as a suspicious vaccine for covid 19 but because they dont get vaccinated they putting the safety of the public at risk what would you do if you were in charge?

How does use not getting the vaccine put others at risk anymore than ones that do. The vaccine doesn't keep you from spreading it any less than unvaccinated. The vaccine doesn't have your body develope antibodies that kill the virus so it stillblives inside you mutating. Where one that does have the vaccine makes an antibody that will kill it, not just suppress it. So in otherwords the vaccinated for covid-19 are perfect hosts for mutating strands. Also because covid-19 is a flu it doesn't only effect Humans only, because that it will never disappear or stop mutating.

@Amur8711 this is not the argument please... It was an example for @Stephen_77 you can replace the vaccine for anything else you would like such as gun ownership

@vald9inches Well either the vaccines work or they don't. Your mentality is, "The vaccine protects you, but still be afraid of the person sat next to you who hasn't been vaccinated." We've never told people that if they refuse to get the flu jab they are putting everyone else at risk. If you believe that the vaccine protects you, then stop pretending to be afraid of the unvaccinated.

I think this is referring to the vaccine. So without the vaccine you are free or expressing your freedom but you are not safer from the virus. Although I believe the mind can heal the body of anything and there are countless example and people who teach others how but still my point is valid if one is operating from the belief that the mind cannot heal the body.

@SpoliteSpeaker I am safer with out the vaccine. Because the vaccine has its problems and a 0.018% increase in surviving the virus is not worth the risk and permanent side-effects of the vaccine

The virus is very safe already i dont have a need to be safer, personally speeking. Some groups might not be and they can get the vax if they want to. I have no problem with that but the idea that i need to get the vaccine so your vaccine works just means that the vaccine doesn't work. So then we are just giving up our freedom for the illusion of safety.
