I saw some people mad that Jeff Bezos pays $0 in taxes. Instead of realizing the rich have always been exempt from the law, Jeffrey Epstein and his friends included in that fact.
Personally I cannot live a life being broke. Because money is freedom, this isn't a free country, you have to earn your freedom.
So it's smart to have a plan B. What if college doesn't work out? What if your field goes belly up? What if all the jobs go over seas? What if...
You need a plan B. I have three plan Bs. Plan B = illicit activity.

I have (3) loaded firearms. Plan A is a a Western style Winchester model 94 lever action rifle, 44 magnum. Plan B is a heavy frame Ruger revolver also chambered 44M. Good to have one choice of ammo in a scrape like the Old West guys did..

The top 1% of wage earners in the USA as of 2018 is $738,000, not $400k. And that's just an average. Depending on where you live, that can be anywhere from "well to do" to "rich", but it certainly isn't close to "middle class".
