The man is more misquoted and misunderstood than anyone I've ever heard of.

Mostly by people on the left who think he's a right-wing political activist and hate-speech promoter.

So your question looks retarded up front and on its face.

Look at the whole clip.
0: 0:10 - he frames the guys question, stops him generalising.
0:15 - 0:20 Shows him that this is his problem. Not any womans problem.
0:21 - 0:30 Sarcastically says maybe the guy is right and everyone else is wrong. Probably not.
0:31- Adverts kick in.

The question he is ultimately asked about, is the problem of some men claiming that these days, average women have no desire to date average men. The question presupposes a couple of assumptions - that these men are correct in their assertion and that the "average" man is truly average.

Anyway, onto Peterson's answer. Women are more careful choosers of their sexual partners because they have more at stake than men do. This is true in (almost?) all cultures. With regards to "these days", he briefly wonders if it's more true now than in the past, but concludes he does not think so. It has always been like this. And then he says that he would say to the sort of men who pose this question "If you think there's something wrong with women as a class, then there's something wrong with YOU."

That is the more correct way to frame his reply. NOT that women are right and men are wrong. It's that if you as a man, think there's something wrong with all women as women, then there's something wrong with YOU.

As always : Jordan was misquoted. And he was right.

I think what he's saying is, if they don't pick you, they have ever reason not to pick you. I can agree with that. HOWEVER, I also feel that they also aren't the right woman for you if they don't pick you.

I generally agree with Peterson usually says in general, but I find his approach here to be ironic and misguided. What I would've expected someone like HIM (who preaches male independence and all that) to say is, "Why do you want a woman in the first place? If so many women are rejecting you, is it something wrong with you? Or are you trying to find a woman to fill a hole in your soul that maybe you should be working on, instead?" Or some psycho-babble like that.

Him basically saying, "Yes, you need to devote YOUR life and existence for some random bitch who can't appreciate you" seems a bit out of character for him, and goes against his whole "self-made man/independence" philosophy, which I find to be ironic.

So, no. I don't agree with him.
I think his answer was more foolish than a man like him actually is. I agree with the second video that Peterson just has no knowledge about the modern dating world.

MY philosophy, coming from someone who NO women (who are straight or sane) actually want, is like this: NO WOMAN OUT THERE IS EVER GOING TO TRULY MAKE YOU HAPPY. You've probably been taught your whole life a woman will "complete you" and make you happy. But they won't. So many of us men, probably the overwhelming majority, are out here, chasing an illusion, Love, sex, companionship, all that sh*t. So many people put it in a blunt, and frankly unsatisfactory way, but I truly believe the answer is this:

"If you're not happy without a woman, you won't be happy with one."

I honestly thought Peterson would've said something more like how I feel here, rather than "be a simp." Which is basically what he said. "Live YOUR life, to impress some random vagina-human, out there. They have a womb; that makes them better than you. (Even if they never plan on having kids.) YOU have to impress THEM. THEY don't have to do anything. What else are you going to do?"

'What else am I going to do?' Live my own life on my own terms and forget about women if none of them can value or appreciate how much of a worthy, respectful, high-quality human being I am?

I think he's trying to help people, genuinely. But I think we're still falling into blanket statements. But yes those particular groups of men need to reflect. And hey, I was falling into those beliefs at one point. But you know how you stop thinking like that? You nut up and just talk to girls and get their perspective and WHY they have it.

Like show more initiative if you need to. When I was on the dating apps I got input from female friends and male friends. Yes you need some female friends. The idea of men having female friends making him less macho is dumb af and goes against the history of our biology. If you aren't a team player then you aren't going to work well in a team, which is you and hypothetical girlfriend.

How much does that youtuber ACTUALLY get out of his home and experience the world? Seriously women are becoming well traveled and men are sitting home all day playing video games or working a job they hate without trying to apply themselves anymore. Women today are showing hella ambition in education and the work force. If you aren't keeping up in spirit at the very least then don't expect them to look your way. Yes lots of single young moms out there had a kid with a deadbeat. You ever think if maybe more men were just brave enough to step up that such things would be avoided in the first place?

When Jordan Peterson began his ascent to popularity, I watched a number of his videos and on occasion have watched a few more over the years. What is common is I've seen him making disparaging remarks about men and boys routinely, but rarely even levels such verbiage at girls and women. I've seen him call males dumb, stupid, weak, and so forth. The thing about Peterson is he will routinely describe the purpose of civilization/society is to repress the bad aspects of human nature while emphasizing the best aspects of human nature. With that said, JP refuses to acknowledge that we as a society have done away with the breaks that hold back the worse parts of female nature namely female narcissism/solipsism. And I surmise the reason he won't attack females is because it's obvious when you look at his college videos when the cameraman pans around the classroom or lecture hall, it's overwhelmingly female. Moreover, females purchase far more self-help books than males and considering JP is a published author in the self-help industry, it doesn't bode well for one's bottom line if you attack your audience.

He's always promoted personal responsibility, and that's what he's doing there.
But it's obvious from all his other content that there are problems in society and the social realm and I doubt he would disagree with that. He's talking about a subset of men that think a particular way, it follows that there can be a subset of women than can think particular ways too. But he's not addressing the subset of women that think a particular way, he's taking the stance of *these* men against *all women. When I think his response would be completely different if it was about *these* women.

So I think it's a soundbite that it going to be extended beyond it's content. Now that it's out there, people (women in particular) are going to clip it and at any point where it's convenient they will just drop "Jordan Peterson says women are right and men are wrong" as if it justifies their position. It will be as if he's never said anything else ever and the only take away will be "women right, men wrong". No doubt he's going to find himself offering context in the future for this.

I'm not a big fan of Jordan Peterson but he's correct, and you're misunderstanding his point. It has nothing to do with innocence, virtue or reason.

This is the nature of female to male attraction, which isn't a choice. We can't choose to be attracted to something or not to be, it's either there or it isn't, and it's biologically driven. It's instinct based, not logic based, for both men and women. It's influenced by tens of thousands of years of evolution.

The biggest problem for those men is that they've been taught a crock of shit about women.

I've watched many of JP's college lectures and can tell you that he's about as honest and accurate about the differences in the sexes than probably anyone else alive today. You are taking the wrong context from what he's saying, he's just stating an obvious fact about the nature of females compared to males in the context that he was asked.

You aren't supposed to like it, but why get upset over it? It's not a hard rule that is inflexible. It's simply how nature pushes the female decision making and why and doesn't apply to ALL, obviously. Few studies ever show 100% of people are exactly one thing or way. How can one not agree - Attraction is a mix of looks (clothes and hygiene included) confidence social status (not as in you have to be a known lawyer - more like you're respected socially adequate and not considered and treated like a harmless bitch in your social circle) - I know too many dudes that apply the ohhh women only date rich guys or he has to be this and that - all of that crap goes away when he's fun to be around and has the traits of attraction - I also get along much more with girls than dudes - they're much easier to be friends with and much more versatile and curious in conversation - most dudes don't have that so they resort to self labeling themselves as "average" by existence and by not being fat - I actually watched the first 3 mins before it - It's all around a very interesting topic but I'll leave it at that..

If a woman doesn't want to fuck you, she's right, she has a right to her own body, so, to what you are concerned she's right. And if you pick shitty women, as he says, you are wrong, you did the choosing of the wrong woman.

But he also talks about women, and how they are wrong about men and their tastes in men. And in there he says women are wrong, well just like he did here with men.

yea, at least somewhat. they choose the man. If she doesn't say yes or agree, or pursue, it's going nowhere. The man has to project his value, as does she. I don't see women blowing off men because men aren't good enough. I see the issue as the man not working to be his best self and project his value to her.

I always thought Jordan Peterson was grossly overrated. He speaks smart, but does he actually ever say anything with substance? He's well-read, he makes these little references to things nobody else has heard of... but he's kinda a clown, yeah? A lot of the stuff he says is fairly simple, but he says it in a way that's much more complicated than necessary so people think he's smart and are more likely to trust him. If he just spoke like a normal person, nobody would give a shit about him.

As for your actually question... I think what he said was pretty funny, he's obviously never seen some of the goons women get knocked up by. I also enjoy that he admits that porn replaces most women in the same breath... since apparently men can't be damned to go after women unless they've got all that pent up horniness. He most certainly did NOT say "MEN are wrong." In fact, he explicitly SAID that's not what he meant. He said WOMEN (a group that consists of BILLIONS of people) are right and "A MAN" (an individual) is wrong. And he's 100% correct. If you ask out 100 women and get 100 rejections, there IS something wrong with YOU. And you need to figure out what that is and address it.
