🤔 I can’t think of any
- I got the idea for this question from @readlikearockstar on tiktok
What would have been the point of doing it alone? Having men like Frederick Douglass to lobby lawfully, lawfully being the key word, to assist the cause built a more powerful argument. Otherwise, abolitionists of then faced the same uphill battle as abolitionists do today in trying to abolish abortion: they were shut down by the agnorant slogan: "My plantation, my prerogative!"
Even then, extreme hatred of blacks wasn't widespread until the embrace by the masses of Charles Darwin, who labeled them "inferior monkeys." Yet, the brainlets of that time blamed it on churches that were actively resisting Darwinism, rather than on the social Darwinists actually advancing the sentiment!
Chattel slavery didn't exist in America until a black man enslaved another one. Even Stowe admitted Legreean sadist archetypes were the minority. But then showed that the politics of slavery ultimately hurt slaves and masters alike.
Wokeism and CRT couldn't be more frauds if they tried. BLM needs to gain 5000 points just to have zero credibility! The only blacks it's helped, are its rabble-rousers at the tip top. Who kept the lion's share of proceeds for themselves after 2020! Nothing but a massive grift!
Every law changed required pressure to have it changed. By every type of American. But even when (f) laws repugnant to God and the constitution were in place, plenty of whites chose to obey God rather than the DNC. Otherwise, the Underground Railroad would have never existed! Where is BLM's gratitude to those Quakers and others who defied tyranny to do what was right, when they're burning, looting, and murdering total strangers today that have no relation to the slaveowners of lore?
Most white family lines of the Old Slave South are already extinct. A majority of the dominant white families in modern America trace back to WWI. Refugees fleeing Kaiser Wilhelm. So to hate on them, and blame them for slaves they never owned for the fact that you can't get a job at a gas station due to a felony on your record for smoking near a gas pump when you're only 16; and getting caught, is the xenith of ignorance and stupidity! But that's how CRT and Wokeism so poison the mind against rational thought.
Long story short: most of those you'd wish to guilt trip with any ounce of credibility are already dead. Your movement is chasing ghosts, while flogging the living for crimes they played no role in. It won't end well.
I was too young back then to remember everything but Abraham Lincoln changed everything thank God that we all should walk to the light together as one because that's what we really are I didn't have anything to do with anything back then in my mind I could say so I could care less or in my heart I could say what the fuck where we thinking why did we listen to old fucking men the fucking were afraid or scared they were just fucking greedy trying to get somebody to do something that they wouldn't do themselves is bullshit we should have all learned way back then thank God for history but whatever it might be I can't look at myself as I'm even talking to you right now I cannot see color I can see Injustice because it's right in front of me everyday I'm not going to change it by myself I'm going to change my being calm and being smart I don't feel guilty I don't feel sadness I don't feel anything except for today I feel like I have to change things to make it bright we all have human rights we are all human peacefully calmly we need to become one we all are going to need each other soon and if you don't understand that I feel bad for you because it's right in front of our faces happening every day we are being pushed against each other we are being manipulated 4 greenford their purpose is our government purposes it's all a bull shit by we need to do this on our own anyway we know what's happening and we need to all change it like I've always said if you can't be a part of the solution get off the fucking planet because being part of the problem is holding everything else back holding us all back one day at a time one step at a time one voice at a time it will get done, calmly what day you will do great leader but you have many steps you have to take before you get there and you have to make the right choices and you have to do a calmly not in left field not in right field it's all one field.
Yeah but until relatively recently white people were the dominant power group in American society so their support was needed to get rid of racist laws by any means short of armed revolution (and that might also have failed since white people at the time were the majority in numbers and controlled the military)
There were three big slave revolts. Gabriel Prosser Denmark Vesey and Nat Turner. All three failed, though Turner came close to succeeding.
And yeah in the early 1800s the military snd the white population were very decentralized and might have had trouble resisting a properly coordinated slave revolt. But I was talking about the 1950s, when the government and the military were very strong very centralized and very much under the control of white people.
My point is, I suspect that the early civil rights movement might not have been nearly as successful as it was if it weren’t for the support of white supporters. Even Malcolm X had radical white students who idolized him and later ended up in important positions in government and academia.
Malcolm X also had plenty of radical POC students who idolized him and later ended up in important positions in government and academia.
I don’t really agree. The civil rights movement suffered because a lot of the white “supporters” threw black people under the bus. Which is why Malcolm x made many speeches talking about white liberals and them being disingenuous, There were white allies but a lot of them weren’t truly their for the black community when we needed them
Which is why during the womens rights movement a lot of white women threw black women under the bus despite being in the same exact boat. They made the argument that they didn’t want to be equal to black men who had just gained the right to vote since they were previously slaves.
There was even a woman’s kkk league at one point
That must have been the very early women’s rights movement back in the mid to late 1800s.
Tough one.
I can't answer your question directly.
Racism is still going on in today's world. A lot less then the past.
We the people of all races need to stand up for all, peace, love and respect.
Opinion

But I would say, it isn't up to "White" people to know all about racism or what is offensive. In fact, I would say that any group that feels there is an issue has to stand up and voice that issue. It is then up to everyone else to decide if they will continue to offend or not.
Many American Indians have talked about the mascot issue. It is up to different organizations or groups to decide if they will respect their wishes or ignore them. Most folks only respond when the pain is felt in their wallet.

"Washington Football Team" is the dumbest concession I've seen in a team name yet. I've preferred they call themselves the Tapeworms.
Fitting. The grifters that got rich blackmailing them into forsaking their original name are nothing but parasites.
Do up a logo for the Washington WhiteSkins. Tits.
@ObscuredBeyond Well, it can be dumb to you. . . right? We are in America and we all have a right to an opinion.
Now sure how American Indians are grifters. I mean. . . they have pretty much had everything taken from them. Isn't a grifter, a liar. . . a pickpocket, a conman?
All they asked was to stop using a mascot name that literally meant the bounty for a dead Indian.
And I would remind you, It isn't like the football team has donated a dime to any American Indian cause.
Sept. 25, 1863: The Winona Daily Republican in Minnesota features an announcement that uses the term “redskin” as a pejorative: “The State reward for dead Indians has been increased to $200 for every red-skin sent to Purgatory. This sum is more than the dead bodies of all the Indians east of the Red River are worth.”
How many living on reservations saw their lives improve one bit because a football team changed its name? Just the activist leaders at the top? That's what I thought.
And it's a matter of perspective. The Buccaneers are named after a band of sea criminals. No one shames them over it today. The Vikings are named after an ancient civilization that did some pretty awful stuff. The Raiders... need I explain? To be a Redskin who defies the bounty, and wins a conflict, and lives to swing that tomahawk another day... is that not an awesome outlaw legend? The karma Houdini?
But nooooo... while many tribes loved the legend, some whiny Marxist grifters - some of whom didn't have a drop of native in them - turned it into a cry fest. Because that way, they'd get rich by blackmailing a team into erasing a cultural identity.
It's not even erasing the term "Redskin" that's the biggest crime here. It's demanding it be replaced with the most generic non-entity possible. A literal nothing with no character. Like their own hollowed-out souls doing Satan's work. As I stated: naming them the Tapeworms would at give them some character! Instead, NPCs want a souless entity with no personality. To hell with that!
@ObscuredBeyond Who are you ask such a question? I have no idea how to assess improvement of the life of an American Indian. I am not an American Indian. Neither are you. I just know the ones who are my friends don't like racist mascots. And what they claim is improvement in their community is their affair. I don't know any activists leaders at the top. What does that even mean?
What does the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have to do with this discussion? Is there a tribe called Buccaneers? And if so, have they voiced some issue with the name?
Maybe not. Just a thought.
Oh, the Vikings. . . again. . . is there a group of folks called Vikings here in America? Are they voicing some issue with mascots?
So I get it you are just another troll who doesn't know a single person who identifies as an American Indian. That's why you made up some crazed nonsense about who has an the "blood" and who does not. You see, I am the complete opposite. The American Indians I know have 100% ancestry. They voice an opinion and they have shared the reasons why the term is offensive.
I would never expect a insane racist to understand. But there is one thing any rational person should be able to agree to. That only American Indians can figure out what is offensive to American Indians. Because referring to a person as a redskin can only be deemed offensive in the context of American Indian history. Which no one learned in school. If they did, they would know there the term came from.
As for the rest of your confusion, the name is just a placeholder for the eventual name chosen. No one made any demands about what the new name should be.
But I wouldn't expect you to know that. And funny thing is. . . you have no shame about being this ignorant.
sports.yahoo.com/...ont-reveal-them-192617492.html
There's lots of racist practices that were stopped in a local place by white people. Like some slave owners educated their slaves and did other stuff that they didn't have to, because they felt it was right. Also there were black slave owners & rich black people during slavery but the "all white people are evil" pushers don't want to talk about such things.
And when in history do people get something of value without a struggle? I bet the founders of the U. S. would have loved it if they could have gotten free from England with zero complaining and fighting. The colonies had wanted freedom for GENERATIONS before it happened. That's life.
"If they were good people they wouldn’t have had slaves in the first place" -- The bible literally says that slaves should obey their masters. It also tells masters not to be a-holes. Maybe you're preaching form a different bible... say one written by idealistic people wearing clothes made in chinese slave labor factories.
And you didn’t even read my question. You’re just getting angry I mentioned white people, I’ve gotten this argument enough times to know that it’s a myth used by right wingers to deflect talks of racism in regards to the history of slavery.
Please show me an example where a black personality was willingly a slave owner. I’ll wait
Some white people defied segregation laws to engage in interracial marriage.
Musicians were some of the first to integrate their bands and normalize the presence of blacks.
As opposed to being forced to change their racist thinking, a whole lot of whites worked with their black brothers and sisters to force changes in the law and end segregation.
In the 1960s, the U. S. population was around 194 million. Whites comprised 88.6% of the population. There were approx 19 million African Americans. So, in reality, there were more whites supporting the civil rights movement than blacks.
This is a good point. a lot of the time majority groups dont care about the minority group and get angry and feel threatened and then act and take on negative streotypes they would accuse the minority of being. I am both a majority group and a minority group so I can to an extent empathize with your pain. I can't really mention one, and I say the same thing myself, unfortantely so many white people shut me out and accuse me of being an sjw when im jsus trying to make an objective point.
Let me look and see if there is any. I guess the civil rights acts of the 60s,
Maybe banning negro discrimination in the MLB and not forcing Jackie robinson to play in the negro leagues anymore
I doubt you'll find many laws, or ways of life, that are changed solely because the people in power (at the time) choose to. Why would they? It's not a racial issue, because it's not limited to race.
Sure, you have slavery, and the civil rights movement, but those are hardly the only ones. Look at women's voting rights, the signing of the Magna Carta, or the French Revolution, just to name a few. Those are all situations in which the people in power either bowed to pressure, or were forced to make changes, either giving/sharing power with others, or weakening their own power. They had nothing to do with race, because it's not unique to race.
It's simply that those in power will maintain the status quo, unless they are given a reason to make a change, which generally requires some sort of action by those that don't have that authority.
Republicans talk BS about "White Savior Complex" on the left when they can't shut up about how the Republican Party was the abolition party and whenever the issue of reparations are brought up, they talk about how "white people fought and died to free you from slavery!"
While most people are aware that there were black soldiers that fought in the Civil War, very few are aware that by the end of the war, they were 10% of the Union Army.
Don't you ever look in the mirror and notice that the only racist person left is you?
That's not to say it's only you but only black people talk about race and discriminate according to race and blame all failures on race.
Guess what. Life is a b! tch it's unfair to everyone. Even 1% rich people find themselves on the short end of a stick from time to time.
Just stop complaining already because no one cares. No one is gonna kneel and bow and let you step on their head just because your great great great great grandparents were slaves brought in chains from africa.
They are dead and so are the people who put them through that. This is a new dawn and a new generation and you're still trying to drive a racial wedge between people
There you ago again.
This "conversation" has been had and finished long before you were born.
Nothing wrong with learning history but trying to have some social debate where the arguments are things that happened 300 years ago is just a way to divide society.
None of these arguments are valid today.
Was there discrimination? Yes
Is there discrimination? No
It's high time you faced the world as it is today where once you stop with this delusion you will live a happy life in which you have all your rights and privileges as a person.
It will matter if you're rich or poor but it won't matter what color your skin is
aww poor triggered anon.. What happened? mommy didn't love you enough? so you sucking on a orange schlong? How about you grow the fuck up, and get an education before you shoot your mouth off
You're literally using a fake name you sh! t eating cůnt.
Don't worry about me though not getting enough love your mom makes sure I'm constantly fulfilled
Now go cry in the corner like the little b! tch you are and grow up a bit before you assume you can outmatch me in a social politics conversation
Tf you talking about he's the one who called me out first when he himself has a fake name. And so do you for that matter no one here has their driver's license as a profile.
But it's very common for anyone losing an argument to attack the person winning it so don't worry you're still not so special 😉
No this is me putting an attacker in his place
I'm all for a healthy back and forth but this guy went all out and even mentioned my mother. The second he did that it was no longer a debate it was a lesson
awww triggered anon.. did I hurt your fragile feelings? Get a life bitch boy! Take your MAGA Hat and Flag and run along now!
oh and trust me you little puke bastard. I can outmatch, outwit you in anything. Again - take your maga hat and flag and go fuck yourself. Take your fucking shinebox too
It's sad that you're basing your beliefs on some random person in TikTok. :-(
Slavery was made illegal in the Northern States before the Civil War, and then President Lincoln initiated the Emancipation Proclamation that freed saves in the Southern States, with support from whites and blacks.
You didn’t read my question. The enslaved were never apologized to from America, they never even got reparations for what happened. Black people still were mistreated and you have to remember the government did virtually nothing to protect the black community against hate groups like the kkk.
With all due respect, I did read your question, and I answered it. You seem to have a lot of pent-up anger that is going to cause you a lot of stress. It might be good for you to consider the present and the future, things that you and others can do something about, rather than past events.
Maybe not racist but prejudice. The "tignon law" which meant black woman hair was illegal and we had to cover it with headwraps
I think the most important one of all it was when a group of Republicans white guys got together and appointed Abraham Lincoln white guy as their first president of the Republican party to abolish slavery. For with Democrats more fighting tooth and nail to keep slavery legal and did not want to let it go. Although blacks fought in the civil War it was a bunch of white guys that initiated it to shut up a bunch of racist Democrats.
Slavery. Nobody other than white people could vote or hold office, and therefore nobody else had a say in ending it. They fought a war to end it, and a huge amount of them died for it. Then, they offered free passage back to Africa to a beautiful, fertile nation they bought for ex-slaves, and a lot of them took them up on the offer. Know what they did when they got there? Enslaved each other, and turned Liberia into the war-torn, drug infested shithole it is today
You post a question like this and then have the nerve to tell someone who answers it with facts that they're argument isn't in good faith?
And I gave a valid answer. Slavery was outlawed by white men. Those who took the offer were given free passage and land that was purchased with federal money. Ex-slaves were not opposed to slavery, which is obvious because they instituted it almost immediately when they got there. How is my answer in bad faith?
Says the ex-slaves who almost immediately took other ex-slaves as slaves when they got to Liberia.
Slavery existed in the US for less than a hundred years. Before that, it was the English. Before that, it was the native americans. And guess what? It still exists in Africa and the Middle East. When was the last publicly traded black slave sold?
And then you want to sling racial insults... as if you even know what color I am. And you think you're arguing in good faith?
You might want to watch the video which gives a run down on slavery and how it started being banned.
It's quite uncommon for ANY type of laws to be changed without FIRST, people complaining about them, proposing ideas for change, and promoting those ideas. Take your anti-white hate somewhere else. And you might wanna stop listening to race baiters. All they'll do is poison you against your neighbors and create more toxicity where there doesn't need to be any.
and let me point out that the Congressional Black Caucus was created in 1971 so it would be physically impossible for "white people" to change laws "completely on their own", and I suspect your racist radio buddies would have a problem IF they did change laws without input from the Congressional Black Caucus. But they not gonna tell you that, because the entire purpose they push the narrative that you brought up, is because they're trying to divide the people and increase anger and hate. There's no need. If you have a problem with people working together, then you are part of the problem.
no worries. have a good day
How about all of the “ White” people that died in the civil war fighting to end slavery?
You didn’t mention the Black Tribes that captured other black people and sold them to the slave traders.
I believe that some countries outlawed buying from these slave traders!
@doopayo. Since BLM wants to eliminate all offensive history of slavery.
Slavery never happened! Case closed!
@doopayo. I get the feeling that will never happen with you! You are too close minded. If the conversation doesn’t go your way. The other person is always wrong!
@doopayo. Okay. You restored my faith in you!
And I do agree with your last post!
Lmao🥴
Ummm... well there's 🤔
Hmmm... well that one time when... hmm🤔
Idk🤷🏽♀️
Posers throw out accusations of "white savior complex" when a white person talks about disparities in education, incarceration, life expectancy and poverty rates between racial groups but then they pretend that Slavery was only ended by white benevolence
@Ad_Quid_Orator lmao yeah and the slaves they refused in their army went to the north and helped to beat their asses🤣
Ya know they were itchin for that get back.
Slavery... ended by the US Civil War / Restoration which included the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments.
Yes but black people continued to face oppression systematically through the police system, (black codes) where a thing that led to the mass incarceration of many black people that arguably still continues to effects the African American community till this day. African Americans also never got reparations for the tragedy they faced, and back in haiti my people were forced to pay the French reparations after we successfully revolted even though we were the ones being wronged. We paid around $21 billion
I won't deny that, but I answered your question.
Google these terms: "de jure" and "de facto".
Just because racism may be eliminated "de jure" that does not mean that it is eliminated "de facto". And there are always loopholes in the law that the unscrupulous will exploit until the loopholes are discovered - for instance, but smartphone videos of cops shooting unarmed black people in the back in South Carolina.
Here's a good example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvbmDnlifY0
People are no longer allowed to do blackface as a Halloween costume cause it has ties to slavery but the bigger changes always requires rallies and marches.
@doopayo I was only half-serious... But the genre of minstrel shows ended, and for good.
(By the way, it's "per se", as in Latin, not English. :-) )
*watching all the triggered cult followers go anon and stir their shit pot*
The only "systemically" racist laws in the USA are AGAINST White people and against men.
Name one single law that POC totally on their own changed to help White people?
