NEVER forget EVERY 'Cop' is FIRST a human being BEFORE putting on THAT uniform!
I've BEEN one (BPD 1982) and Society expects EVERY Cop to exhibit "the Wisdom of Solomon"
in just 7/10's of a second! Look up the term 'furrtive movement'... its an ambiguous action
that COULD harrbing a potential LETHAL threat. Hence, "SHOW ME YOUR HANDS... NOW"
... ANY other Suspect response is open to LETHAL interpretation~
That Cop wants to go home at shift's conclusion; DO YOU?
That's 'why' they've gone to personal cameras and Tasers...
NOTHING will EVER remove personal liability.
EVERY Cop is responsible for EVERY bullet's final resting place.
EVER see ANY Prosecution hold "the bad guy" responsible
for where ALL HIS 'gang banging' stray shots wind up?
An average pistol round has an unimpeded range of 1.2 MILES!
Those IDIOTS who fire celebratory rounds into the air...
those bullets eventually come down with killing velocities... SOMWHERE!
through roofs, into cars and unfortunate neighbors!
I've had to shoot in my professional capacity three occasions
and I've NEVER shot FIRST, but I HAVE shot LAST~
ABSOLUTELY!
They FEEL different in your hand.
They're deliberately made to look different in your peripheral vision.
They WEIGH differently and
on most Officer's 'Sam Brown' gun belts, they're PLACED differently!
BOTTOM LINE, after 26 years. she panicked and fatally 'fucked up'---
'Negligent Homicide' AT THE MINIMUM~ And,
NONE of this 'house arrest' plea-bargaining BULLSHIT
Most of the time it ends up the person that gets shot is resisting arrest or is standing next to somebody who is shooting at the cops or had stolen the cop's taser and is trying to shoot him with it or is driving with the cop on the hood of the car and refuses to stop. Does anyone see a pattern here?
Honestly it’s hard to stop. Cops need to act one step ahead pretty much in order to keep themselves alive, and safe. Also to keep the people that need help safe. Can’t imagine how many people would get away with crimes and such if cops didn’t act one step ahead. If the cops felt the need to draw their guns, something really bad was going on
Your perspective isn't correct. If a cop is too nervous or scared then he shouldn't be a cop since people's lives are at risk with a scary cat that will act on impulse.
Cops have units to back them up, a gun and body armor to protect them, the average citizen doesn't which makes them a greater risk of death or serious injury.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy y’all act like cops aren’t humans. It’s literally a human thing to be afraid. It’s literally a natural human reaction to react to guns. I am not saying what this cop did is correct, but it’s literally human reaction to be nervous or scared. If a cop feels threatened to the point where guns need to be drawn for better safety, then they shall. It needs to be a justified draw of a gun, but cops NEED to react first
It's how people get shot and killed by cops when not needed to shoot. Case in point the man in Ohio who was walking outside his garage or the woman in Texas that got shot dead by a cop for just looking outside her window.
You can't be a nervous wreck as a cop as that puts people's safety in serious danger.
They can go be a mall security if they can't handle being a police officer.
Certain jobs aren't meant for everyone and that is fine.
Being a nervous wreck is different than a cop knowing that he has to beat a suspect to the chase. I think in many scenarios this works, and in others it doesn’t. It’s unfortunate this girl passed away due to it going wrong, but I’m sure that cop will not walk away freely.
And also you literally need to pass many types of training to be a cop. “Certain jobs aren’t meant for people” doesn’t make any sense I’m sorry. He’s not a cashier at target
I don't know the details why this cop fired his gun. The Asker didn't post a article.
It was definitely the cops fault. I read up on it a little bit. That job will lose his job and will get arrested.
Well, then he should go to prison. Cops in the U. S. are borderline mentally ill I suspect and I don't mean that in a mocking matter. Something isn't right with a lot of them.
I don’t think it was a mentally I’ll act, I think it was by accident. They’re consequences to accidental shootings though obviously. I think U. S cops have a lot of pressure on them these days.
The system has failed these cops. Overworked, under paid, don't get them enough mental evolution due to the stress of the job etc their metal health is bound to suffer by nature of the job dealing with people B. S. and criminals day in and day out.
A lot of cops aren't right mentally healthy as when they first started.
Oh agreed. 100% that is most jobs in America though. Overworked, underpaid, and no mental evolution and then people wonder why America is in shambles
Unlike most job being a cop is different. A cop that isn't right mentally can cost me my life. 😏
I think any uncaring person can cost a life. I am a waitress and me simply being careless about allergies can kill my customers. A firefighter not caring about a fire can kill people. A cashier not caring about a fight in the store can get someone killed. A security guard not caring can lost your life. An airplane pilot not doing his job correctly can cost a life. Your surgeon not doing his job right can coat your life. Catch my drift?
Cost your life*
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy we need to stop putting military people into police jobs. they are trained to shoot. that is the problem
@Sevenpointfive you should really read up because this incident was due to poor aim. Why on earth wouldn’t you want trained shooters?
that's my point. soldiers are taught to shoot and not aim
We don’t know this guys background though to assume he was a soldier
i just read the ABC news version of the story. another person was injured... it was in L. A. no other details. mark my words though! he was ex military
Though I think when guns are involved in general there's always chance of misfire
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy Most 'average citizens' DON'T resist arrest...
a heartfelt apology costs FAR LESS than a forced confrontation.
You wouldn't BE running if you didn't have something to fear (like outstanding warrants! or contraband in the car)
@TheorionMage: Doesn't matter the circumstances, if immediate threat isn't present then a cop has no business firing their gun.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy and what if there is a immediate threat? Cops mostly go into situations blind and need to react first. It mostly works out well in most cases, and sometimes fails. That’s part of having guns. It’s very unfortunate, but that cop will definitely face charges anyways
What? Lol... can't a cop tell and use his common sense when to draw and fire his weapon?
Obviously so, but do you think there’s chances of cops misfiring also? They are human, not robots. It’s been done time after time, even cops accidentally shooting themselves. I think the media makes things out to be in bigger numbers than it is. Sad a life is lost, however they have also saved many times with the methods they use
You aren't supposed to fire your weapon like the idiot cop did in the store when the suspect didn't have a weapon to and aimed it at him.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy According to the LAPD, officers received multiple radio calls from the location that there was a possible shooting in progress and people were sheltering in place.
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy so there you go, you really need to know your facts before arguing your point. How many school shootings have there been and cops shot and killed the shooter successfully or got them out of the reach of killing more people
I noticed that cops don't hardly do foot chases anymore. They just shoot you if you don't stop. Am I the only one that noticed this?
if you stop you get shot quicker

Never because they don’t want to be killed why would you allow a criminal with a gun to shoot first the bullet could kill you and the guy gets away. Why would you want to get into a fist fight or knife fight with one either one hit or one stab could kill you, this is why In these cases cops will always shoot first they have no other option there not super hero’s there men
When perps are armed, cops rarely shoot first. The generally shoot second.
I think many of us could use re-training.
Maybe when those sorry bastards get more time in training than hairdressers do.
I bet you they can't even recite small parts of the Constitution which they took an oath to protect.
Fuck pigs.
Posting a image without actual details of what happened isn't right.
Did the suspect have a gun or was aiming a gun at the cop when he shot? Need details.
If we are going to take guns away
Let's start by taking them from the police
Let's count the reason
Ohhh Yeah!!! the title says it all
Nope, it's already incredibly rare for them to shoot first.
Congratulations in making it very clear that all of this is way above your head.
I said that it's not that smaller problems don't matter, because that would mean that one gets to add smaller problems ad infinitum.
But if you have two problems, one is reduced to a shadow of what it once were while the other one hasn't and it's several orders of magnitude bigger, then the second one takes precedence.
Human resources to tackle problems isn't infinite either.
There's also the concept of diminishing returns as well, that seems to completely fly over your head.
Yeah, because those are more common in free cities instead of "gun free zones", sarcams, lol!
Most of those are with illegal guns, usually trafficked straight from mexico.
Somehow inner city people with legal guns aren't that keen to killing others, and those who are keen about killing others don't care so much about having legal guns or obeying any law.
Another evidence of how much you hate black people, you don't want them to have guns to protect themselves.
I know how both science and law works.
With science there's this little thing called okham's razor, and in law there's this little thing that destruction of evidence and silencing of witnesses is proof of guilt.
You goddamn moron who has zero fucks on how science works and you don't even subscribe to the scientific method, and your point is still fucking moot because it still shows faucci himself and you, and all your friends blocking inquiry into the question.
First, you keep with the red herrings, you and your ilk blocked both discussion and research on the subject. Several forced retractions not based on methodology but "facts that migjt be used to misinform" shows it.
Well, it's easy for the first and for the second, way easier for the second.
For the first you do a multi-variable analysis involving open and shut cases. (which is cases of shootings is most of the cases)
The second is easy if china let's you, if they don't, then it's even easier because you go from studying from the angle of epidemiology only, to legal science exactly in the kind of case with is easy. (of course, it's still subject to epidemiology, but juridical sciences are always subject to material sciences.)
Actually, plenty of evidence of cover up and censorship, juridical science points to one answer, specially with china, specially since they did the same thing with sars I.
Epidemiology only points to the fact that there's evidence of similar viruses closer through the lab than through poaching with zero intermediary hosts being found point to at least a lab leak first.
Specially with the overwhelming evidence of lab personnel getting sick with the same symptoms before anyone else and right before the break.
As I said, research on the origins. Both research and public discussion.
With the corpus of juridical science research that's tantamount to an admission guilt.
Please link me to your profound evidence. And I wouldn’t be surprised by the way if China lab leak turns out to be true. Everything there I purchased was cheaply made. Can only imagine what the labs would be.
But logic always prevails with me, and there’s no evidence for it. That’s not sticking up for China.
@OddBeMe Cops will stop shooting first if suspects don't attack.
They usually don't. You only pay attention to the cases that fit your narrative.
Here’s the thing…there’s no real data that confirms or disproves this. Police chiefs and even the Feds aren’t very truthful about it.

And when you are getting robbed at gun point, please don’t call the police.
