My interpretation: He thinks African Americans are not Americans.

I don't feel that at all. For one thing his wife is a minority. But I would believe that he looks at ALL voters with disdain lol. I think most career politicians do unfortunately.

And here's what I hate about the whole voting rights issue. Yes the left likes to say the Republican party are trying to supress minority votes. And that may be true. But if we're going to tell the truth let's tell the whole truth. It's undisputible that minorities vote Democrat disproportionately. And that the Democrat party guise to make things more "inclusive" through this as well as trying to give those with felonies the right to vote. Is simply their way of procuring more votes.
I'm not saying either party is right. All I'm saying it's not really racism or anything. It's only an attempt to keep their party in power.

I don't agree with your assessment. I do believe he is disingenuous. Because my parents and grandparents voted despite threats to their lives and the lives of their loved ones. If the U. S. Constitution cannot be used to protect the sanctity of the vote, then it is a useless document. Since the U. S. as a society claims it only derives its power from the citizens of this nation.

He used to be a practical guy. I did not agree with him on a lot of things but I had some respect for him. Not anymore.

I find it interesting that anyone actually hears and quotes someone in the senate. When I see any senator from any party starting to talk, I just assume it's all lies, and I switch to authorities like Beavis and Butt-Head. Republicans are shutting down polling locations so voters of color have to stand in hours-long lines to vote, hoping the will became discouraged and just go home without voting. They also are making it illegal to give people food or water who are standing in those long lines. They are also restricting mail-in voting and drop box voting. It's all an attempt to squash voting in communities of color. Republicans are also against making Election Day a Federal holiday. OK, doofus?
