Why does negativity spread faster than positivity?

Question

Like if you notice then News Channels are always updated about criminal stuff like murder, kidnap and all but when something positive happens then no News Channel is really interested in making it's report. The positive News stays underrated. This is just an example but in reality why are people more curious about negative things rather than positive things? Like suppose I bring Full marks in maths test then my parents won't be that interested and will probably forget after 2 days. They will only say "Good job" but when I fail in maths test they will remember it for whole life and will give me lectures for whole month. Again this is just an example not a question. My question is 'Why negativity attracts people more than positivity?'

Negativity spreads faster because people pay the most attention to it. Negative things can kill you so for the sake of survival the brain sees and reacts to negativity more. And because we also remember these negative things more often we talk about or think about them more making us negative. Furthermore people around you will pickup on emotions and attitude and tend to copy them… think the guy at work having a bad mood thus being a “kill joy” for everyone else.

So… bad things happen. You notice… remember… think about… discuss… your feelings of negativity on the issue spread feelings, words, actions… and then someone else spreads it.

I think it’s evolutionary. Humans don’t have a special physical skill like cheetahs do. Our defense mechanism is intuition. And that means always looking out for what can kill you.

I look at it like this if you notice in life with people the world is changing there's been more and more things going wrong do to other people that are bad I believe there are bad people first of all because that's the way they were brought up that's all they know is from their parents until the age of 18 the most fat people are lazy they want everything handed to them instead of somebody handed it to them if they can't get it then they want to take it it's really easy to be a bad person it's really easy you don't have to do anything what is hard is being a good person and making your life better each and every day because you have to work at it when you want something in order to buy it you have to work for it when you're in a relationship if you wanted to be the most beautiful relationship in the world you have to work at it it's just not handed to you even positive people when you feel down and out if you hear something on the news that is negative they are glued to the TV because then that way they can feel better about themselves if you watch and listen to people there's a lot of me me me people there are more and more selfish people only thinking of themselves as people do more and more of this more and more bad will come because everybody will see how easy it is and they too was going to take the easy way out if you ever seen a car accident or something happened to somebody look at all the people gather around they want to know what happened but in a way it makes them feel better about their life because it's not their number one anytime somebody can act as if they are better than other people for some reason people flock to that kind of stuff no matter what it is we're talking about there's always a positive and negative a right a wrong oh yes I know a hello goodbye love or hate people are going to the negative part of it because it's easier if you want to be a good person you have to work at it and pretty soon it becomes a part of you and that's just who you are negative people thank you whine and cry and bitch and moan me me me poor me because it's easier to be that person and then to get your butt up off the couch quit watching TV and go work and get everything you want because you have a job and you are trying to make yourself better it's pretty simple it around about way for a lot of people because that's who we are but for negative people that's who they want to become it's a choice we all get to make that choice who do we want to be in life by the things we say and do

Because ultimately this is a negative universe for our type of life forms. Technically the universe is better suited to propagate black holes than it is to propagate humanity, so we are making the best of a shitty situation in a short life usually filled with a lot of suffering and death for the majority of the world.

Exactly you are right, it is my observation also, that Negativity is exploited too much but Positivity is not given much spreading , TV channel increase rating by telecasting by horrible and criminal news, and good events they do less exploit
