New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and the state's NAACP chapter are expressing concern about police officers' response to a fight between two teenagers at a local mall. In video captured of the fight, two officers are seen pinning down and handcuffing a Black teenager while the other teenager sat and watched from a nearby couch, CBS New York reports.

"Although an investigation is still gathering the facts about this incident, I'm deeply disturbed by what appears to be racially disparate treatment in this video," Murphy tweeted late Tuesday. "We're committed to increasing trust between law enforcement and the people they serve."

Yeah, this does look pretty bad for the officers... not gonna lie.

Still, I'm going to try my best to assume that you're GENUINELY curious if there could POSSIBLY be a reason other than racial bias as to why these two kids were treated differently. Though, chances are, and judging by the poll options, you don't seem to be the open minded type.

But perhaps it's worth noting that there was only 1 MALE officer and 1 FEMALE officer on the scene.

I don't like saying it, but males and females almost always approach a situation differently, even if they're trained otherwise. Unfortunately for the black kid, he had the MALE officer, who would more likely opt for physical compliance to end a physical altercation. And he would be right to do so, as BOTH these kids needed to be handcuffed and detained. The female officer, unsurprisingly, opted for a less physical approach. Also, the fact that she decided NOT to handcuff the white kid like she should have and went to help her colleague makes me think she might be a rookie.

Or it could be racial bias.

This is pretty much the story of all the bullshit I got into as a kid. When I was with black friends and was the only white kid, I was treated differently by police, even being told to “get the fuck out of here and go home”, almost like “do you know what kind of trouble you can get in hanging out with ‘THESE’ people?” When I was with all white groups, we would get into shit, the same kind of dumb shit, brawling or whatever tomfoolery, and the cops just gave us stern dismissals, again, just telling us to go home. Nothing in my personal experience tells me people are policed equally.
