Why do people think not being emotional about something means not caring about it?

I've been watching the Madelyn mccan disappearance case on YouTube and so many people think the parents did it simply cos they are stoic and not bursting out crying... Wtf?
Why do people assume that their parents must have to cry every moment and every second for the rest of their life other wise they don't care?
I don't know about you but if I lost something I loved I'd be sad in my head but I don't see the point of physically displaying that in the form of crying, I think it's a pointless act to do that won't solve anything or make me feel better... intelligent people tend to internalise their feelings and rationalise everything, so we don't really see the point to physically expressing emotions, .. so the parents might just have higher iq like.. which is why they seem to not care.. they jus internalise their feelings like me... Trust me they are upset about it.. just in their head
