3 credit cards. Using these cards correctly have given my credit score a good boost since my bankruptcy. Also, I never use on credit what I cannot pay from my debit card.
One is a firestone credit card with a credit limit of $1200. I use this card for every oil change then pay it off at the end of the month.
One is the Chime credit builder card. There is no limit on it. You literally transfer money to it from your chime checking account. They do not report credit limit, just the "payment". Whatever you put on the card and spend counts as already being paid so there is literally no risk of a missed payment. This card guarantees that you will always have an on time payment. This card will NOT work for car or hotel rentals but otherwise works like any other credit card.
The last one is a traditional secured credit card from my credit union. I put $1000 as the credit limit. This one works just like a regular credit card so they report the credit limit, how much you have used of that limit and the on time payment. I agreed to use it for a year and am 5 months into that year. When that year ends, I have the option to either close the account and get my $1000 back, apply to turn it into a regular credit card or keep it as a secured card for another 6 months in the event I get denied converting it to a regular credit card. This secured card works like ANY other credit card.
The 2 cards that have a set credit limit I make sure to use less than 10% of the credit limit. For the $1200 Firestone card I make sure not to exceed using $120 (I use only $90ish dollars because I only use it for oil changes). For the $1000 card I use no more than $100 (usually use $50-$60 depending on gas prices and I use it for 1 tank of gas).

I have only one and it is strictly and exclusively for emergency use. I don't know what the limit is because I've never had to use it. Never even gotten close. My wife and I are pretty well insulated financially.
I had 4 credit cards but one was cancelled when I cancelled my club membership and I have not used another one in over 2 years so it may have expired and a fifth card expired cause I never used it.

I think only 3 now. I let the others expire because I didn't use them at all. One has a $15,000 limit, one has $11,000 limit, and one has $8,800 limit. So $34,800 worth of credit available.
Two, one American Airlines affiliate card and one Alaska Airlines affiliate card. The limit is enough to meet my travel needs.
They have different card for promotion activities but They have united central for your credit so that is equal to one. useless.
