Has anyone ever mistakenly assumed you were gay before?

I was leaving a concert a few weeks ago, and I was by Fenway Park as a Sox game was letting out. I was dressed fly, I had on a vintage letterman cardigan from the 60s (that someone in a car stopped and complimented, and even asked if I’d sell it😎), and I had my jeans cuffed up a bit. I also have my hair long right now, just because it looks cool when I play hockey, it looks awful otherwise lmfao. So I wear a folded up neck gaiter as a thick headband and I brush and tie my hair up to the top of my head as kind of a “poof”, and then the blonde ringlet curls I have kind of cascade down or stick up in the air, whatever my hair feels like doing that day, haha. It’s gotten decent reviews, I think it’s the best thing I can really do with it, because it’s just a blonde Afro (is it a “Euro” when it’s my hair?🤔😂) if I just let it rock. Anyway, that was my get-up, I was feeling good, the opening act at the show had a song where the hook said “I got the juice now”, and this girl was jokingly saying she had assumed that I, in fact, was the one who had the juice, lmao, so I think I looked notable, if not good. So, I’m leaving, about to cross this main road to walk back to my car, and a pickup truck passes by, and the guy driving just yells out “F*GG*T!!!” at me. I was all by myself, I honestly just laughed out loud. Actually, I left from there to head out of state for a fishing trip with my buddies, got there late night, and when I woke up the next morning and saw everyone, it was like the first thing I told everyone, we were all laughing. Couldn’t believe I got chirped like that, but at the same time, the particular outfit I was wearing…. I don’t NOT get where the guy was coming from, as much as we probably shouldn’t be yelling that at people in 2022😂 That said, guys in pickup trucks who wear camouflage hats are about the LAST people I’d take a fashion slight to heart from. Fuckin’ hayseed, lmfao.
I have lost count.
I am 45 , never been married so most people assume I am gay. At work I have had several women hit on me and several coworkers try to set me up with some females.
But I never, ever date wome women from work. This is written in stone for me. There was one younger coworker who spent two years flirting with me on and off and from my part nothing - I hard ignored for two longs years. The thing is I was also attracted to her but like I said, all dating at work is off limits for me.
Also, I am just very, very particular about women- not sure why but it's how I am. I have rejected very attractive women; and other people think I am nuts or gay.
More than once I suppose especially in Puerto Rico I last year in middle school there I refuse to take cooking class because I had taken it multiple times and I wanted to do wood shopIt also happened my first year of high school in Puerto Rico because I refuse to take ama de casa (stay at home mom) and secretary Class. I wanted to take advanced English and economics. I have also had a couple women assume I was because I had a short spikey haircut for a while I've also had women just constantly hit on me I don't know if that's because they're assuming I'm les or because they just felt like hitting on me ( @mcheetah Why do call yourself ugly? It is a word I have difficulty applying to people. Its hard for me to Invision an ugly person unless I think of a fictional character which in actuality would really apply because they're fake.)
@mcheetah lmao 😂
Exactly what they wanted us girls to become I was considered a delinquent in that Puerto Rican school because of my "daring" opinions and refusing to yield to machismo mindsets
@meetkitty123 What part of the Island are you from?
@Texaskid1 along the west coast
I have a tomboy demeanor so some people think im a lesbian. I just like d*ck too much to switch to a nub. Im actually very girly in appearance but have a chill stern demeanor so i guess thats where people get it from. I've been asked 3 times, mostly from family.
I notice people that get asked this usually have a healthy balance of feminine and masculine traits. Other people like to lean to a particular side so seeing someone comfortable with both energies questions their sexual orientation. Im female, im not non-binary, I dress, look like, and am a woman. Its just my personality that makes some people curious. At the same time im submissive and like Dominant men. I guess confidence makes some people feel subservient.

All the time, including a rather heated accusation from a so-called therapist.
Just because I'm not into sex that much, this automatically makes me gay.
This particular therapist could not wrap her mind about that concept, kept yamming on that I should have left my fiancée because I was "obviously in the closet" and that "too many closet gay men entrap women in senseless marriages".
Screw off, you harpy. Now her practice is closed.
She was. I hope she won't practice ever again.
@VV3ZZY she was a nutjob. She raked up complaints from all her patients. My wife had gone for a trial session, and she got told she was not getting "screwed enough" when she talked about her issues with her controlling mother.
Yeah, I get it all the time, but it's mostly people of my own culture that are dicks about it.
I get where comes from in my case, so I don't have a problem with the presumption, I just can't stand it when people decide to casually start saying shit to me about it, because I can tell if someone is being a dick about it and I always have a response to it.
Not really "accused", but a nutty friend of mine who I grew up with said that he was "wondering" if I was gay because I've never been married. That is SUCH an outdated way of thinking. I told him that people who think that are mostly OVER EIGHTY years old. Plus, most people think I'm smart for never being married, and not gay! It is SUCH bullshit the things people assume.
There is a local radio personality who, at mid-fifties, said that his 78 year old mom said that it "isn't too late to father a child so people won't think that you are gay"... Like that is a good reason to father a child. Such BS... And fathering a child doesn't exclude someone from being gay anyway.
I had a 14 year old neighbor girl who had a huge crush on me... she had it bad.
She would knock on my door for a glass of water or to use the bathroom whenever I was home. It got to the point where I had to make an effort to avoid her.
She wanted sex but as a 20 year old guy she wasn't getting any from me.
One day she ask me if I was gay. I looked at her and said "Sex with a 14 year old ain't worth going to jail over!"
She was pissed.
No I haven´t been called gay but bi by a therapist I went to cure my porn addiction. I told him that I feel inadequate comparing my dick size to those in porn and he called bi because I´m too focused on dick size.
I never went to him again because I felt he didn´t listen but rather anticipated what I could say.
No lol but i have had gay dudes hit on me its not cool and they say its a complimenting a gay dude finds you attractive bruhhh no its NOT. Dude said "im sorry but someone needs to tell you that you are attractive" BRUH... i said ok thanks and he goes i like the way you dress its swag. I said thanks and he walked off..
im like no way man, but i also realized gay dudes in cali are super bold so im gonna run into that out here but damn still SuS.
I didn't fuck my drunk boss at a house party and she told the crew I was gay.
I'm like WTF
Your damned if you do damned if you don't if you act toxic male your bad.
If your nice your a pussy or gay.
We was at a house party. We wasn't supposed to be hanging out. And she is a decent person. I think she was offended.
Probably
Since I started practicing yoga and meditation a few people called me gay. A part of yoga and meditation is to balance your masculine and feminine side and embrace the more sensitive side of yourself. I am a very handsome man as well. I feel most of the people that called me gay might have some gay tendencies themselves and were alittle bit attracted to me so they projected.
Yes, I told a woman I wasn't interested, she promptly called me gay.. I'm fucking married... Anyway lol.
My mother has that kind of cope too, when a man rejects her - "He must be a f*g", she says.
Yeah, just because I had the temerity to turn down women who wanted me to go home with them while socializing. The assumption was that all straight men would have sex with basically any willing woman.
Because I have not dated like in forever , I would say some people think that. Never been married and no kids. I am more of an Animal person. However , I am never seen with guys either.
I've never been accused of being gay but I've been asked if I'm bisexual years ago when I was still a teen.
I wouldn't say that I've been accused of being gay, but people have certainly made assumptions about my sexual orientation 😂
Yeah mostly stupid people do that
I have never accused of being gay.
No, not that I am aware of.
Yup.
No and if someone will do I'll make him regret it
