I'm so confused. So walls don't work but fences do? And for those crying about the price of the wall, we've sent double that amount of money to Ukraine, so they could protect their sovereignty, and no one batted an eye.

The only people who actually believe "walls don't work" say so from the context of walls being a replacer for border Security rather than a tool or a force multiplier. Any obstacle of any kind slows down or forces someone attempting to cross into chokepoints where they can be more easily identified and intercepted. When an illegal gets through in open desert, there's a very high chance they'll be found dead or dying in the near future.

I have a dear friend who lives in Manchester. He hates the government as much as I hate my government. He has money, so he only spends 1/3 of his time in England. The other 2/3 are divided between Thailand and Cuba. He has girlfriends in both countries. I met him in Thailand.

I remember camping next to the US-Mexico border. It was in southern Texas along the Rio Grande. The river ran between vertical cliffs at least a hundred feet high. It was getting dark when the border patrol showed up. They had binoculars and were pointing. People were climbing down that 100 foot sheer rock cliff and up the other side in the dark.

If people want to cross they will. Sure, a wall will decrease illegal entry. But not by much. It's a far too long and remote border to stop it.

And just for the record, I crossed into Mexico illegally myself. Then when I came back I suppose that was illegal also.
