I'm Catholic and I think this is blatant discrimination that needs to be changed ASAP. It's like racism because it discriminates. What if they had a law that no black or Jew could be king or queen? Are you as outraged as I am?
Given that you also have to be part of that family, no- that they're disqualified if they even *marry* a Catholic is a bit more concerning, but would you really WANT to be part of that pack of inbred yokels? The UK's a democracy in every way that really matters.

The difficulty with hereditary monarchies, is the notorious difficulty of any outsiders what does that be religious, racial, class, or political affiliation outsiders breaking into the royal family without killing off their competition. See Richard III for example.
We mustn't forget England had a long bloody history of religious division. Opening up the throne to catholics now could reignite it.

No. It kinda makes sense after all the King of England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland is the Head of a protestant religion. How does a Catholic be head of the church of England.
My people had enough of that trying to put a Catholic on the throne.
You also have to be part of the royal family so the catholic part doesn't really matter.
Rest assured that there will never be a black King of England either and I think you will find that the Jews have their fingers in more than enough pies already.
How do you think it got that way?
Before you start whining about discrimination, recommend reading a bit.
History is a great teacher.A Catholic head of state? I think I'll pass on that. Getting us excommunicated was probably the only good thing Henry VIII ever did.
Sounds discrimatory to me. Those who answered no are probably the same type of people who would have no issues banning, leftists, muslims, black people, lgbt people and feminists from being able to become president.
It's because the papacy used manipulate european kingdoms to an extreme extent.
You've heard about the Church of England and Henry VIII, right? It was a few years ago, I'll admit.
