+1 ythe Left has a fit about alleged sexism in the English language. Never mind that among major languages English is THE most gender neutral. Other languages give all inanimate objects a gender. There are a few Victorianisms in English, for example, "the pilot took care of his plane and *she* got him safely through the storm." But these are very few and left behind from books of the Victorian era.
Nearly three months ago I was with my lady attending her son's high school graduation. And the indoctrinated Left principal kept using the term "Latinx" while speaking of a large part of the student body, which had the *Latina* moms and *Latino* dads puzzled if not annoyed.

+1 yI don't find it offensive, but I also don't see "two-person delivery" as offensive.
I don't really care what people use as long as they're respectful of the individuals carrying out the job. If they dispatch and say "it's a two-person team", I'm going to continue using gender neutral terms out of respect.
It's easy to respect people's pronouns. Only idiots have a hard time adjusting to that. They/them as a singular pre-dates they/them as a group pronoun anyways, and neo-pronouns have been a thing since the early 1900s.
Like, seriously. It's easy to adjust language. It's really funny to me when people get all butthurt about using gender neutral words, but I guess that's just American monolingualism meets exceptionalism for you.00 Reply
+1 yMaybe the person who fields complaints was having an off day. One too many petty reminders if how over-worked and underpaid they are. They decided to chomp down and get rid of the single nuisance among many many others… but when it gets splashed across newspaper headlines, it, like so many other stories like it before it, blow it up and out of proportion making it seem silly and trite. If only that coffee room had fresh coffee in it when that person arrived at work that day. We might all see another headline.

Can't remember the last time two people of any gender delivered anything. I have a regular DHL delivery guy and he's lugged some heavy stuff to my house. I've had to help him. Had a 8 foot by 8 foot decking delivered by one guy in April.
Have to agree though. Nothing remotely offensive or sexist about it.
I work in an all male industry simply because there is no way 99% of women would be able to push/manouvre the reels, which literally can weigh 2/3 tons.
Keep waiting for someone to call the company sexist but the general manager, who is female says herself there's no way most women could do the job.

There are multiple cases where national level female soccer teams (in multiple countries) got killed by HIGH SCHOOL boys. I have no doubt that any random 12 year-old boy can beat the brakes off 99.9% of women on this planet, with one hand tied behind his back. But a lot of deluded women think otherwise because they've been brainwashed by fictional movies & tv shows that show women being as strong as men.
00 Reply12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Argos should take those complains and send in two children.
Then when the fuckers complain, hit back with : Are you saying two people didn't come? Are children not "people" any more?
Some people just complain because they have to say something. Argos should have gave them the corporate "fuck you!" i. e "We will take your concerns onboard"
00 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If the Item being delivered requires the strength of two men to off load and install the the item then the phrase is accurate.
Maybe if those who were companioning had to do the job there would be less complaints. Off all the delivery crews I have seen from Argos they have always been TWO MEN never any women.

+1 yIsn't the word "man" in certain context considered unisex? Ex. mankind
As long as it implies all people then it's not offensive.
12 Reply- +1 y
Exactly. But the Left has a fit about alleged sexism in the English language. Never mind that among major languages English is THE most gender neutral.
- +1 y
Humankind has been used for decades. There are still a some cases of words that use "man" like that, @blackcosmo, but many have been replaced with "human". More accurate, too. 😇
That's not leftism, that's an example of languages evolving. They all do.
I won't debate the gender neutrality of English, though, since I'm not a linguist. 🤷🏻♂️

+1 yNo, it's realistic. Cause women don't lift heavy shit. I know, cause i worked for a parcel delivery service. Women would always get the easy jobs cause they're weaker. So much for emancipation.
03 Reply- +1 y
Well, some women do... But I do get your point.
There's was a 10 year old that lifted 250 pounds, or 113kg, weighing half that, and breaking the Women's World Record at the time.
www.ibtimes.com/naomi-kutin-10-year-old-girl-breaks-womens-weightlifting-record-lifts-215-pounds-photos-video-554805
Not only that but, the source is PBS,
As of December 2017, she has "current personal bests of a 321 lbs Squat, 127 lbs bench and 363 lbs deadlift".
She could lift parcels onto the van of over 150Kg in weight... Her name is Naomi Kutin.
Some women don't lift heavy shit, sure. Some lift the weight of a huge male bodybuilder. Go figure...
I have no problem with two-person job. We use that all the time in my language, Portuguese. Is that an English thing? Maybe...
Is "two-person job" offensive to men who work two-person jobs?
Not to me. How about you? - +1 y

Thankyou! An actual man! So rare to see these days. Keep being you:)
Opinion Owner+1 y@Missgingles I see you live in Sweden. That explains why you think real men are rare these days.
- +1 y
Yup!!! Here almost every dude is feminist smh.. its very rare to find an actual man, sadly. But it is what it is..
Opinion Owner+1 y@Missgingles Why are the men there all feminists?
- +1 y
Its socially unacceptable to not be it. A lot of people loose friends and jobs because they dont identify as a feminist. Even if they say they are for equality between sexes but aren't a feminist its a problem. Even I as a woman have gotten hate for not being a feminist but I obviously get away with it more easily than a man does. .
The funny thing is the political parties in Sweden that is on the left want to minimize sentening for rapists while the right that they call sexist wants to maximize their sentences. Same with the left hear is against witness protection in crimes and the right is for it.. although highest crime rate pleaces and death shootings locations usually vote more left. Really ironic..
Opinion Owner+1 y@Missgingles Wow, that's terrible. But aren't a lot of men there against feminism? I thought they were.
Thanks for your candid and detailed response! You should write a MyTake about it.- +1 y
I think a lot of men secretly are against it but not publicly. :)

Two men delivery could be considered sexist but two man is not as it's a well established phrase. I've never heard a woman say "it's a Two women job"
- +1 y
I don’t see any difference personally. “Two man” is the phrase to me. I’m too busy kicking ass to worry about what other people say or don’t say. I don’t find personal worth or satisfaction out of controlling the language of others or finding myself a victim on purpose
