yet anything they do according to them is helping the middle class even though it only benefits the rich.
+1 yBecause that's what democrats do. They hurt the middle class, make the lower class THINK they are being helped when it's actually hurting them. The middle class makes up the majority and supports the lower class. Republicans are for supporting the majority because the majority is what supports the lower class creating the most ideal outcome. And it's not all about money. It's about standard of living. Democrats are constantly attacking common sense, praising things that bother the majority which topples the majority. Both parties attack each other because both have their own agendas or goals. And in most cases they are opposites. Both sides play this game. But if you only expose yourself to news or opinion from one side then you will never understand this.

Such lies. Liberals constantly lie.
I like how that high gas prices that were 3x what they were when Trump was in and are still more than 2x what they were when Trump was in, that is really helping the poor and middle class right? Democrats are so helpful by stealing money from the average citizens, making them much more poor, causing companies to go out of business, supporting criminals that kill, rob, loot, and burn. Such helpful democrats.
Seriously though, ALL people that still support the democrat party deserve the death penalty.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yRepublicans really don’t have any policies designed to help the lower and middle classes. They use wedge issues like abortion or immigration to get people to vote against their own economic interests. So they have to downplay any Democratic legislative successes to make voters believe those policies aren’t helping them, when they really are. Case in point…ask the GOP to reduce revenue by forgiving student loan debt and the answer is a resounding no. Ask them to reduce revenue by giving wealthy Fortune 500 companies a tax break and they can’t act fast enough.

Because aborting babies is in society’s “economic interests.” 😂
Opinion Owner+1 y@Agagagagaga It absolutely is. How many more tax dollars are going to be needed to support all these unwanted children that you would force into the world? Get ready for a tax hike!

Don’t want a baby, don’t get pregnant. Problem solved. 🤷♂️
Opinion Owner+1 y@Agagagagaga An unrealistic answer that a simpleton would give. I prefer to live in the real world where perfect outcomes don’t usually happen. The bottom line is that your anti-abortion laws will grow the welfare state. I never knew you conservatives were so in favor of growing government and limiting individual freedom. Weird huh?

Forgiving student loan debt? So if someone sacrificed and paid their own way through college they deserve nothing, but if someone didn't sacrifice and was irresponsible, they should be rewarded and others should work and pay the taxes for their student loan debt?
Only illogical unintelligent democrats would think that.
Immigration? So you support all of the fentanyl deaths and are happy that Americans are being killed by those drugs that came across the Mexico border illegally?
Opinion Owner+1 y@HighValue You’re proving my point. Your party has nothing to offer the lower and middle classes and you try to drag people into your wedge issue arguments as a distraction. As for student loans, not everyone has the financial means to pay their way through college. Being poor does not automatically mean someone is irresponsible. If government can help these people move up the economic ladder, that’s not a bad thing. It benefits the economy in the long run to create a bigger middle class. You demonize tax dollars helping ordinary folks but probably keep your mouth shut when corporate welfare is being doled out. Don’t allow yourself to be bamboozled like that.

+1 yWhy? Because Republicans are craven and truly don't give a shit about anyone but themselves, what benefits themselves and what keeps them in power. Anything they do is designed exclusively to get votes and stir up support from their base. This is how their mind works and it's inconceivable to them that other people might honestly want to try to help people and make things better. So they attribute to everyone else the only motivation that would ever appeal to them.
Trump famously said words to the effect that soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country are losers and suckers. He couldn't imagine anyone making a selfless sacrifice like that cause he would never do anything for anyone else unless there is a huge payoff for him personally. This is how they think and they assume everyone else thinks just like them..

@Agagagagaga I think the question being asked and my answer to it is more about Republican politicians and them calling out Democrats for passing something positive and beneficial as a ploy to get more votes. I don't think this is a discussion about "Joe average Republican" but rather the leadership of the party and those holding office, especially federal office..
But look on the bright side. According to Trump, you're a loser and a sucker. Doesn't that make you feel really good about your "selfish" decision?
6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Republicans always mock solutions to problems that benefit them. The simple fact is politicians are supposed to buy our votes by spending our tax money on us. Republicans hate this because they want to give our tax money to rich people and they very much like that they have been able to get away with doing just that for several decades, without really losing any power because of the success of their network of PR campaigns.

Asker+1 yexactly, I never liked President Obama but he was willing to work with republicans and when he gave them everything they wanted; they rejected it, now I am convinced that they are just against anything democrats do no matter what.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yBecause without anything to blame on Democrats, the Republicans have no platform to run on.
They have no policies of their own, except for those that put money back into the pockets of their lobbyists and donors. They block, or vote against, everything beneficial so that nothing gets accomplished. Then they can turn around and say, "Democrats failed, so you should vote for us, instead!"
Since that's what Republicans actually do, as a way of begging for votes, they just automatically accuse Democrats of doing the same thing.

26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The Big Beautiful Bill included the largest tax cut in history, most benefitted the middle class. It also funded 20.000 new ICE agents and billions more for more detainment facilities and other things to expedite the deportation progress. This benefits all Americans.
There was funding to help our farmers and ranchers and it raised the limits on the SALT deduction which helps mostly the middle class.
Anything the democrats have done lately has been to keep illegal aliens in the country and to fight funding of DHS until ICE is abolished. Also they have fought very hard to keep the SAVE America act as well. Even though 85% of all Americans support this they are vehemently agianst it..00 Reply- 6.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yThat's the way politics work for any party. Politicians want to stay in power, and they pass laws to make happy the people that vote for them, so that they stay in power. Always been that way, probably always will. That's one of the flaws of a democratic republic, but until someone invents a better way to govern, it's the best system.
00 Reply Because frequently the bills democrats pass have a very limited impact that only benefits their voter base. This student loan forgiveness is a great example; $10,000 is barely a drop in the bucket for most students, the money is going directly to the education establishment (which is mostly democrat) and a one-time relief check isn't going to help these students make regular payments from month to month.
00 ReplyBecause US politics is a pointless punch-and-judy show whereby the rich political donors control both parties and order the actors and actresses to carry on a pointless spectacle for the ignorant masses.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yRepublicans would never win elections if it weren't for voter suppression and gerrymandering. Their policies generally hurt average people. Their supporters are the few that benefit or are too simple to understand.
00 ReplyThat's all they ever do. Look at past history. They only pass bills that look good on the surface and polls go up. But the bills never do what they say they do or just make it worse.
Obama care, made helfcarr worse and cost went up.00 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. You talk about student loan cancel?
Because it is an attempt to get more voters and nothing more. Democrats don't have resources to do this.
